Chapter 69:  Uncomfortable

Heather stood by the office window, looking a bit frustrated. Filla's performance today had been embarrassing.

Steve asked, "What are you going to do? How are you planning to handle this? You've always been good at selecting talent and have the best people in every department. But now, it seems Filla might be staining your career."

Steve wanted to tease him but felt the situation was too serious for that.

Heather turned around, his eyes showing a hint of helplessness and irritation. "Removing Filla from her position is going to be complicated. You know I owe her mother a debt."

Years ago, Filla's mother was Heather's private tutor. During an outing, Heather fell into the water and got tangled in debris, unable to save himself. Filla's mother jumped in to rescue him, but she was swept away by the current due to exhaustion.

Heather's father valued loyalty and decided to raise Filla, providing her with a good life and quality education. So, Filla grew up close to Heather and David.

Steve
