“Why would I hurt you?” he asked and she slowly calmed down.

“You need to understand, my emotions are all over the place because of this bond. I am trying my best not to lose control, so don’t test me,” he stared deeply into her eyes.

“Did you go anywhere else?” he asked. Emerald thought that his words made sense. He was already a very dangerous person. Even Though he promised not to hurt her, there was no need for her to annoy him to the point of him losing control.

“Yes, I had coffee with a friend,” Emerald answered.

“A friend?” he scoffed, stabbing into his plate of food with his fork. Emerald remained frozen for a bit, before she ignored him and continued eating. The dining room descended into silence again. Emerald thought she was done for the night and he was merely agitated and would finally drop the topic, but he spoke again.
