Shannon’s POV

In many ways, he was right to be shocked about how the past couple of years of my life had been and the funniest part was that he didn’t know half of it yet. 

“Well, I consoled myself with the fact that I was going to get that moment before I died.” I shrugged. “So, even though it hurt to see everyone else around me living their teenage lives to the fullest, I found a way to live with the hurt and pain.”

“You didn’t have friends while growing up?” Cole asked me. “Everyone has got one or two friends that they can often run to when things get tough.”
