I let out a yawn as I opened my eyes and stretched my body, wondering what time I fell asleep yesterday.

"I don't know, but you left me hanging last night," he said as he placed the tray on the bedside table.

He's here? What is he doing here? "Shouldn't you be at work?" I asked him, noticing he was dressed in a three-piece charcoal grey suit.

"How can I go to work when my wife is still asleep, hasn't had her breakfast yet, and has an hour and forty-five minutes to prepare for work?" he said with a playful smile on his face.

I threw the comforter aside and rushed to the bathroom while he was busy laughing. I fixed my hair one last time and left my room, only to find Alexander standing in the living room with his back to me. I thought he left for work.

"Why are you still here?" he turned, his eyes roaming down my body.

"I was waiting for you. Now that you're done, shall we get going?" he asked me as he checked the time on his watch.

"Why the special treatment all of a sudden?" I crossed

"Grandma, come on, you've helped me enough. I can't take this," I tried to tell her, but I guess she won't listen to me."No, no, sweetheart, this is not enough. Trust me, and besides, this place is good, and that way, I can be assured that you're safe," she glanced around the place."But, grandma, you already helped me set up the restaurant. In fact, you did most of the work," I said with a frown on my face."And that's my work, sweetheart. Now, this is your new house," she said in a cheerful voice. I like this free side of her; she acts like a teenager, a 60-year-old teenager, for that matter. I smiled at that thought."Hey, Gran, your daughter hates me so much, and I thought you hated me too, but surprisingly you love me," I said, only for her to smack on my forehead. "Ouch, what was that for?" I asked her as I rubbed my forehead."That was to knock some sense into your head," she shook her head. "Silly girl, that's my daughter and not me. Beep Beep Beep.Ugh, I groaned in annoyance. Why now? I reached for my phone and switched it off, then went back to sleep. Well, I tried to, but then I remembered my mom would be furious if I missed breakfast—apparently, she hates it when people don't follow her rules.I forced myself to get out of my bed and prepared myself for breakfast, both physically and emotionally. I left my room and went downstairs. I found they had already settled. I ignored the other eyes, looking at me, and sat down on the other side of the table. I was about to start eating when my mom spoke up, completely ruining my appetite. She just had to do this in the morning."She finally woke up. I completely forgot you were joining us for breakfast, so I didn't include you," she gave me a bitter smile."Oh, okay. I will go get something to eat then," I pushed the plate forward."Of course, you go do just that. Apparently, it's the only thing you are good at," she rolled her eyes."Not today, Mom. Please, can't we

:Three days, and for three days, I've been looking for a job, but I couldn't find one. Well, I did find one at first, but I was fired on the first day because my caring sister decided to cause trouble. I just don't know what's wrong with that girl. Because I lost my job, Mrs. Williams wouldn't stop talking about it, but I won't give them a chance to rule my life. I really don't know what to do, but I know one thing for sure—I won't give up. I will keep on trying."Ugggh, why is it so damn hard to find a job?" I left my room and went to the kitchen. I looked around just to make sure none of my family members were home. I don't want to talk to them. I sat down on the kitchen bar stools, trying to decide what I was going to have for breakfast, then my stupid brother showed up, and my appetite flew out the window. I mentally rolled my eyes and decided to leave before he opens his mouth and says something stupid."Victoria, just stop pretending and accept the fact that you're nothing with

:"What do you mean we got married?" I asked him, my voice raising a bit."I don't like repeating myself. All I know is that we are in this mess because of you," he glared at me as he clenched his jaw."Look, Mister, I don't know what you are talking about, but all I know is that I came here to audition as a runaway bride, so stop with this nonsense." I let out a yawn as I changed into my working attire. It seems Alexander is still upset with me because he hasn't said a word. It's been two days now, but mostly I think it's because he went out on a supposed business trip. I can't say he's lying because I don't know anything about his schedule."Alexandria, can you go check on the customer who just walked in? I really need to pick up this call, it's an emergency," she looked at me, waiting for a reply."Okay, sure," I said softly and left the room to go attend to the customer. Time for me to start smiling."Welcome to Crystal's Boutique," I said with a huge smile on my face. He turned, showing me his perfect smile."Alexandria, I didn't expect to find you here," he said in his husky Spanish accent. Today he was in casual attire, and he really looked handsome."I work here," I told him as I glanced around the place to avoid his intense gaze. His phone rang, ending the awkward silence between us. He picked it up, his eyes on me, "I wil

I yelled, hoping I would get her attention. She slowed down and turned to me, "What flavor would you like, sweetheart?"I shook my head, "Vanilla is okay for me."She looked at me in disbelief, "Girl, you just want vanilla? Just vanilla? Argh, you are so boring."I sat down as I waited for her to come back with the ice cream. Can't I come up with an excuse to avoid this? I don't like such events."Here's your boring ice cream," she handed me my vanilla ice cream."Thank you, drama queen," I said, earning a glare. We talked and had fun a bit, and the moment that I was hoping to escape from came sooner than
