"What do you mean we got married?" I asked him, my voice raising a bit.

"I don't like repeating myself. All I know is that we are in this mess because of you," he glared at me as he clenched his jaw.

"Look, Mister, I don't know what you are talking about, but all I know is that I came here to audition as a runaway bride, so stop with this nonsense." Oh no, how could I be so stupid and dumb? All those preparations, the guests... I should have known it was a real wedding. How did I get myself in such a mess, and how am I going to get out of this mess?

I got married. I came here hoping to find a job, but I got married instead. No, no, this can't be. I turned and ran to the changing room; thankfully, he didn't call me or run after me.

I changed back into my clothes and stood there, staring at myself in the mirror. I looked at my hand, and there it was - the one thing and evidence that reminded me what happened a few hours ago. I picked up my clutch and left.

I arrived home and went straight to my room. I sat on my bed, staring at the wall. What am I going to do? This just makes everything more complicated.

Alexander:

"Son, will you please tell us what happened? Why do you look so stressed? You were supposed to be in Bora Bora for your honeymoon," she said, looking at me concerned. When the weird girl left, I went home only to find Anna in my bed with James. They were obviously fucking, and they had to do it in my bed.

"Mom, I did not get married to Anna, okay? She..."

"Alex, stop fooling around. Anna was with you at the wedding. You even kissed her, so what do you mean you didn't get married to her? I know you are confused."

"She didn't show up. That wasn't Anna, but someone else who had to be at the wrong place but at the right time. I know this may sound crazy, but if she wasn't there, I would have been completely embarrassed today. My reputation would have been dragged through the mud. I'm actually glad she was there." I sighed; now I have to find a way to fix this.

"I told you she's a whore, just a money-sucking mosquito. I'm glad you didn't marry her, and now I won't have to murder her," he said it like it was something casual.

"Dude, are you serious right now?" my stupid brother Chad intervened, looking at him like he was crazy.

"Boys, we've got a serious issue at hand. Alex, where's your wife?" I nervously scratched my neck. If I tell her, she won't let me have it. She will probably make me look for her. I looked at my brother and best friend, who were trying so hard not to laugh.

"Mum, she, uhmmm..." she glared at me.

"Honey, don't scare him. Let him talk." My dad gave me a thumbs up and smiled.

"She left immediately after the wedding. You see, she thought she was auditioning. When I told her we had really gotten married, I guess she freaked out and ran off."

She took in a deep breath, "You let her go? What the hell were you thinking, Alexander? She's your fucking wife, idiota, and you let her go." She stood up and poured a glass of whiskey for herself. "Richard, are you hearing this? Your son let his wife go. How are we going to find her? Oh no, what the hell is wrong with the both of you? There's the other one who fucks around with anything that has a skirt on, and the other just lets his wife go after getting married. Why do you want to kill me with high blood pressure?" she shook her head.

Chad raised his hands in defeat, "Guilty as charged, mom. I thought that was our little secret." He chuckled. "Brother, let's go out for some fresh air, cause the air in here is so tense it could be cut with a knife." We left the house to get some air and give our mom some time to calm down.

Alexandria:

I groaned as I rolled to the other side. I kicked the blanket off me, hoping what happened yesterday was just a crazy dream, but unfortunately, it wasn't, as the ring was still on my finger. I got out of bed and removed the ring. I put it in my clutch to avoid any questions, freshened up, and left my room.

Everyone was already settled at the table having their food, and Ryan was there. Wow, so interesting.

"Alex, you are awake. Come join us for breakfast." She said with a smile on her face. She's being nicer than usual. Something is not right; my mom is never nice to me. She must be up to something.

"Thanks, but I'm not hungry." I left the room and went to the garden. I sat on the bench while staring at the fountain.

"There you are. I've been looking for you here." She handed me a plate with chocolate cake on it. My stomach growled at the sight of food.

"Thank you, Maria. You are the best. This cake is the best. How did you even know I wanted chocolate cake? I swear, it's like you have magical powers or like you can read my mind or something." She laughed.

"You talk too much. Just eat your cake. I brought it because you look stressed, and I know you always love eating chocolate cake or ice cream when you are stressed."

I shook my head as I ate my cake. This woman knows me better than my mom does. Besides, how could she know anything about me when she's never had time for me, always busy with work and traveling around the world?

It's been three days since I supposedly got married, and so far, so good. I haven't heard from that Greek God. Thankfully, my family can't find out about this. I just can't handle them right now.

We went for shopping and bought our outfits for tonight. Surprisingly, my family was invited. I was at Emily's place getting ready. I don't want my mom to ruin my mood or lock me up in my room to prevent me from going.

I applied some minimal makeup, with some red lipstick to match my dress. I put my hair in a neat ponytail.

Emily's dress.

Once we were done, we left her house and made our way to the party. When we arrived, we found the other girls and joined them.

"Wow, Ria, you look beautiful. I didn't know you could afford such a dress," Charlotte said as she looked at me with a smirk on her face.

"Thanks for the compliment." I forced a smile. She wanted to embarrass me, that I know for sure.

Kayla came running to us with a smile on her face, "Guys," she squealed in excitement.

"What, Kayla? Calm down." Trina said with a smile on her face.

"Come with me. I will introduce you to Alexander Romano." She grabbed Charlotte's hand as we trailedas we trailed behind them.

"Alexander, these are my friends. We've all been dying to meet you," Kayla said, beaming.

He turned fully facing us. Oh no, this is the man I got married to. Wait, I got married to Alexander Romano? Could this get any worse? While Kayla introduced us, his eyes landed on me with no emotion. I don't think he remembers me. I sighed in relief.

I excused myself to be alone for a while. I found myself outside in the garden, breathed in and out to calm myself. I was panicking. I don't want to talk about it, and I'm glad that he didn't remember me, but I don't know why I got so nervous around him.

"I'm glad you are here. We need to talk," he whispered, his hot breath fanning my neck, sending chills down my spine, and my heart pounded wildly against my chest.

Oh no, I'm not prepared for this talk.

"Are you crazy? You just can't take me with you to meet your parents!" I yelled as I tried to release my hand from his tight grip."Don't make a scene, okay? Let's leave from here," he said in a casual tone, like it wasn't a big deal. But it was to me. Is he crazy or something?"Or what? Look, I don't care if you are Alexander Romano, but I am not going anywhere with you, and I mean it. So just leave me alone."He let go of my hand and looked at his car. "Are you sure that you are not going anywhere?""I'm sure, Mr. Romano. You know what? I will go back inside," I said firmly, and he nodded. I narrowed my eyes and turned as I made my way back inside. Something is fishy; why didn't he grab my hand or stop me? He just let me go like that. It should be better that way.I have to leave from here before they see me. Until I heard my sister's voice, my legs seemed to have a mind of their own as they stayed rooted in their place."Alexander, it's so nice to meet you. I can't believe you are right in front of me," she said in her annoying, high-pitched voice. He just gave her a slight nod and didn't say a word to her. Not that I'm jealous, it's far from that, just happy that he didn't give her the attention he wanted."I'm glad you're here, Mr. Williams. I let out a yawn as I changed into my working attire. It seems Alexander is still upset with me because he hasn't said a word.
