Daniel's POV

It's worrisome to see Caleb here. To the next of my knowledge, he avoided this spot like the plague. Moreso, he didn't have a tracker on me so how he found out where I was was troubling.

His entire demeanor changed when he came in

Contrary to what he thought, I knew the exact moment he stepped foot into this building. I've always trained myself to be on alert, especially when you're deep in the enemy's territory.

I've been suspecting that something's up because, for the past few days, I would catch him staring at me with an odd look on his face, or sometimes with rage. He always looked away before he thought I would notice.

Even right now, his body was primed for violence and the look in his eye threatened to boil me alive and feed me to the dogs.

"You good?" I asked through my mask, buying time as I thought out my next move. "You look quite tense."

"Been thinking a lot." His tone was curt.

I was undeterred by his attitude. "About what? Wanna share?"
