Chapter ninety

Daniel’s POV

Barely a week later, Freya and I were sent out with our missions but something didn't just sit quite right with me so I tricked behind Freya.

I was so good that she didn't even realize that she was being followed. I made sure to always stay at least 100 meters away and exchanged my boots for shorts with softer soles so she didn't pick up on my movements.

If I had known when she was heading before it was too late, I could have warned her but I had only realized when she crossed the border to Caleb's territory.

I had to hide and slink into the trees

Years of watching and studying Caleb made me find easy toots where I could watch him or what was going on in his city.

I had jumped atop a huge branch of a tree, after testing it to make sure it could hold my weight.

It gave me a first-hand view inside.

Caleb and Katherine were rushing out to see Freya who was accosted the moment she stepped foot inside.

"Kneel!" Caleb barked, his face a stormy cloud of anger.
