Chapter ninety-eight

Daniel’s POV

"I'm thinking that we'll need more manpower allocated to this region." Another Alpha Melvin under Ethan's subregion spoke up drawing me out of my thoughts for the third time in ten minutes.

Ethan stared thoughtfully at the section Melvin had pointed out, contemplating if that was a side decision.

I was standing guard, as appointed by Ethan my back to the wall. I was privy to their conversations but at the same time not expected to contribute.

I saw Ethan turn to me several times, questions on the tip of his tongue about a particular topic but he smoothly ran over his mistakes and asked me for errands instead.

For Ethan, appearance was power.

And mingling with someone lower than him didn't speak of power...

"How much?" Ethan asked.

"Ten percent."

"Too much, cut it down to five," Ethan replied immediately. They started to talk it over until they agreed on 7.5, and from there on to other topics.
