The Betrayed Werewolf Princess's Redemption
My company had organized an outdoor camping trip.
That night, a sudden downpour jolted me awake. I could feel the icy rain soaking my clothes and skin. I reached out instinctively, only to find the space beside me empty.
Panic surged through me. I fumbled for my phone and called Nigel. Before the call could connect, I saw him emerge from the undergrowth, disheveled and breathless. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me downhill, urgency written all over him.
As we ran, I caught sight of his crumpled clothes and the faint yet unmistakable imprint of a kiss lingering on his face. My heart ached.
"Where were you?" My voice trembled, and I could feel the suppressed power of the werewolf blood within me stirring dangerously, barely kept in check by the medicine I had taken.
When we finally reached safety at the foot of the mountain, my gaze landed on a woman standing nearby. Her hair was tousled, and her grip was firm around Nigel's jacket.
I knew her. She was the new intern at our company. She had a smile that, in certain moments, resembled mine.
So, even the man who had once risked his life to protect me was capable of betrayal.
I sent a message to my father. [Dad, I want to go back to the pack. Can you come pick me up?]
