QuinnThey finally arrived at the party and Quinn was still a little on edge. The house was neither big or small, just somewhere in between. And it was packed full already. Music was blasting and people littered the front porch. Cars were parked everywhere.. up and down the road, in the driveway, and even in the yard. They got out and walked in, Quinn was on high alert. Looking everywhere for Finley, and Em. If she had some kind of plan to do something else to Emerson, he didn’t know what he would do. As much as he wanted to get rid of the girl, he felt weirdly protective over her at the moment. They grabbed some beers out of the cooler as they walked through the kitchen , and that’s when he finally spotted Finley standing in the living room. She was there with Lennon and a couple of her other friends. They were talking to a group of guys he had never seen before. QuinnSometimes, after a rainstorm , there’s a moment when it stops. The thunder, the lightning and the rain all cease. The dark clouds in the sky dissipate the sun suddenly appears. There’s a rainbow, and the whole world is right. This moment, is the opposite of that. ————————Several things happened at once. Right when the guy said his name Quinn knew he had heard it before. He looked down at his outstretched hand to shake, but he didn’t take it. In that same moment he knew Em had arrived. Don’t ask how he had just become accustomed to sensing her. Some kind of radar went off, his skin prickled and the hairs on his neck stood up. It was the electricity, the air changed. He turned around and looked at her and immediately saw the look of complete and utter horror on her face. She had frozen and had grabbed Asher’s and Aspens hands. She was standing dead still minus the trembling of her body, which Quinn could see from where he stood. And then….It all clicked. River.

EmIf they’d thought inside the house was crazy, it was nothing compared to outside. People were running and yelling, and cars were trying to get out of the driveway, the yard and even the street. It was mass hysteria. The girls were in a group but people kept running in between them practically knocking them down had split them up some. The absurdity of it all was taking a toll on Emerson. She was starting to panic, even more so than she had been. Quinn saw this and immediately reached over and grabbed her hand. She had no time to stop and think what it meant because they could hear sirens in the distance. The police would be there any minute. She did, however notice how nice it felt to have her small hand in his big one. Even after everything he had done, he made her feel safe somehow. Protected. Taken care of. He started pulling her down the road towards the car. She noticed he was following Asher, and Aspen was running next to him. Em skidded to a halt. “Wait!” She c

EmSo Quinn told the twins and Em all about the supposed potential fighters at the party, and how Finley had only said that to get them all to come. He had started to suspect something on the way there when he found out she’d commissioned some of the guys to make sure Em came too. He had no idea how she had found out about River or how she had gotten in touch with him. But Em knew that it would be easy to find out if anyone did a little digging. She was more concerned with how she talked him into coming that far to a party. Even though they’d driven a while, River and his friends still came four or five hours from her old town in Northern California. What could Finley have said to get them to agree to that… she didn’t know. Nor did she really want to. She didn’t think he would be trying to contact her again after tonight. “That is fucked up on so many levels” Aspen was saying. “So fucked….” Asher agreed. “That girl is bad news man. I’ve been telling you that for years.”

QuinnAsher was throwing questions at him left and right. But he was having trouble concentrating. He was keeping an eye out for Emerson who had disappeared into the bathroom with Aspen a few moments ago. He didn’t know why he felt the need to watch her every move but.. here he was. He could hear them laughing, and hiccuping. He heard Em snort and he accidentally let out a little chuckle. Asher was looking at him as if he had just turned into a horse. “Dude. I haven’t seen you acting this weird since that time I convinced you Madonna was in the grocery store.”Quinn gave Asher the most serious look he could. “You promised we would never talk about that.”“Righttttt”. Asher said still frowning at him. He was watching Quinn like he was afraid he would explode at any second. Which, wasn’t too far off base if he was honest. “I don’t kno
