Chapter 11

Aiden’s POVWalking down the hallway with Diana, I try my best to restrain my anger. Moon’s disappointed face keeps popping up in my head all through the awkwardly silent walk to the skies knows where. “You are not talking Aiden.” I hear her disgustingly sweet voice. I pay her no mind, silently wishing I had the strength to resist the temptation of strangling her later. When we reach an open space close to the gate, she stops, and I do, too, already hating the fact that I had to follow her. Her hidden agenda isn’t too hidden. She faced me and I did but hardly looked at her for a little more than a minute or two before finding another place to keep my gaze at. She searches my face, probably looking for a little crack to pound on and expand. “Aiden.” She purrs. She is suddenly gentle and soft-spoken, not like the devil I encountered a few minutes ago right in front of my doorstep. This annoying ‘thing’.I am tempted to look at her face. I almost give a loud laugh but hold back mys

Chapter 12

Liam’s POVWith the gate closed to my face, I could not picture myself leaving even with all the hurt and pain. I know I should get moving; a mate bond can always be rejected, but the mere thought of that does something weird to my brain.I can only picture myself walking towards the gate and breaking into it to take her away from him, the strange guy I know nothing of but it strikes me at once. What if he is the one she said she confessed her feelings to and got rejected? You can’t control how you feel when they make impulsive actions, can you?No, is this me trying to defend her? I should picture myself moving but no, I am stuck and invisibly glued to the ground. When the image of what happened a few whiles ago repeated in my head, I rushed towards the tree behind me and gave it a good blow. It shakes from the impact, but the pain in my knuckles awakens my senses.I found myself sliding down to sit on one of the extra large tree roots poking out of the ground. I wondered why I sat

Chapter 13

Diana’s POVI watch him run in, I am blinded by rage if there is anything like that. There are two things I know for sure and that is exacting my revenge and claiming him back as mine. Not wanting to go in because I will yield to the temptation of stalking him again, I turn towards the gate as a better idea hits me.What if I go in search of the other guy and do something reckless to his heart? I smirk as this idea settles into my heart, the satisfaction from imagining it is fulfilling. Knowing he would be waiting for her till this time if he is the faithful type warms my blood. Walking towards the gate, my eyes dart around for any prying eyes, and with a little effort, I push the gate open, but I do so slowly to avoid the loud squeak that would attract attention in the quiet night. Stepping out and looking straight ahead of me, I was startled when I saw a man sitting across the street staring at me as if he had been waiting for the gate to be opened for eternity. I begin to thin

Chapter 14

Diana was in for another shock when two more people came out from behind the door. “What the hell is wrong with you guys?” She asked her friends, clearly having enough of their pranks after the tough night she experienced.“We should be asking you that.” Amira countered with her hands on her waist, her ears pecked up to get updated. “Girl, where have you been? Becky said she saw you sneaking up the stairs like a ninja.” Amira said and soon, she started laughing at the sheer imagination of Diana being sneaky. The other girls joined in the laugh, but Diana was not amused. “Hey, leave my bed.” She said to Lilian. “Yo! Chill.” Lilian had a little frown on her face.Rushing to Lilian, Diana pushed her out of her bed with the entirety of her strength. “What the fuck is.” “You don’t know about respect for privacy and personal property,” Diana said flopping herself on the bed before releasing a huge sigh.Looking at themselves and shrugging, the three friends decided it was best to wait

Chapter 15

Moon’s POVThe footsteps are excruciatingly slow but don’t stop. My mind is left to ponder on who it might be, I fear for my life as I feel the intruder get closer. For the life of me, I just want to be alone and I don’t think that is too much to ask for.First, my brain thinks of Liam. I get excited at the possibility of his looking frantically for me and ends up infiltrating my pack house to pick me up. I am unbelievable, and I know it. Who else in their right sense of mind gets excited at the prospect of something so possibly abstract while in possible danger? I lie painfully still on the bed; even my breathing is regulated, and it’s difficult for me. I only hope I look convincingly deep into my sleep. Thinking about Liam again, my heart shattered at the betrayal and my giving way to my impulsive thought. I thought of telling him the next time we met, but then I thought otherwise. But would that make me any different? One more step from the intruder and I quickly stop my fantas

Chapter 16

Aiden’s POVI know it is impromptu and out of the blue but I can’t help it. The feel of her lips against mine is addictive, and just the softness of her breasts against mine hardens my member. I can’t read her expression; it is as blank as a clean slate. Then, as if possessed by a demon, she starts out jerking as if having a fit of cough before opening her mouth wide to let out the strangest kind of laughter. I have never heard it in my life. It goes on like this for a while to my irritation with her slowly reducing the intensity of her laughter only to pick up her pace again. “I don’t see anything funny in my words,” I told her and she took her sweet time trying to be calm.“Why?” “Why what?” I ask but when she doesn’t answer me, I think. “My request?”“What happened to accepting me back then?” She questions again before sinking into the bed. Placing both hands behind her on the bed and leans backward, her face easing as she sighs in exhaustion.“Please leave.” “And my reply?

Chapter 17

The sound reverberated across the room, leaving Moon and Aiden wide-eyed and mouths almost hanging open, trying to process what happened.Aiden, though shocked is inwardly happy that Moon could do something as huge as slap him and not regret it. Seeing it as a sign of strength and strong will, he is about to commend her on her boldness when he notices her face morph into an emotion he could already identify. Moon, taking his wide eyes and his tongue repeatedly poking out through the part of his cheeks where he was slapped to mean anger, began to tremble, the image from earlier in his room resurfacing in her head.“Are you hurt?” Moon’s original self was back, pushing against the thin surface to save herself from another traumatic moment. Seeing him keep staring at her, his initial shocked expression now morphing into a slight frown, his hand still going to rub on that part of his cheeks occasionally, Moon’s heart went out of control. A part of her wanted to keep a distance from him

Chapter 18

Moon’s POVBeing weak is a curse, nobody wants to associate with the likes of me. Especially in a pack where power, wealth, and beauty are all that matters. Grabbing my index finger like it’s a piece of shit, Lilian twists it earning a yelp from me. My eyes couldn’t help traveling towards Aiden but he still had that attitude of indifference to my pain. “How dare you?” Lilian said in a sing-song, still smiling. “Please.” I pleaded, almost getting on my knees from the pain. “Do you have evidence?” She asked.I shook my head, and in the process, I saw the remnant of her crew enjoying the spectacle.“That’s enough.” Aiden finally said striding over to us.By this time, I had tears streaming down my face and a light liquid running down my nose. The muffled giggles and whispers around me blackened my heart. If Lilian heard Aiden, she didn’t act like it because she went ahead to push me to the floor and I fell with my legs open. The giggles morph into laughter, and heat spreads to my fac

Chapter 19

Moon continues with her arrangements, sorting out the food to prepare for the evening while looking at the list to be sure she made no mistakes. Outside the store, Aiden was getting apprehensive about being caught by the watching eyes of others. Deciding to walk away, he heard something hit the floor and his ears perked up for another sound just in case it might have been a fraction of his imagination. Listening closely, whoever was inside the store made an effort to pick up whatever it was that fell and made a shuffling sound with her legs. Her grunts betray her gender. It had to be Moon; her partners would always abandon her, leaving her to take the workload on herself. Before now, Aiden would have sneaked in to help her out till they were both done with the work and he thought of doing that today, at least to make up for his actions back there. “Moon, I know you are in there,” Aiden said but met with silence. Knowing she was still mad at his action, he decided it was best to

Chapter 20

Diana’s eyes glittered in delight seeing her target fall and make a mess of herself. Putting her right palm over her lips, she hid her smile but her eyes crinkled to show her pleasure. ‘I am just getting started, by the time I am done with you, you won’t recognize yourself.’ She thought to herself, returning her eyes to the food.“Did you see that?” Lilian asked her, not hiding her amusement. “Yeah,” Diana responded her eyes not leaving her food this time. “Come on, I deserve an accolade.” “The most beautiful villain of the Silverstone pack, I think it’s high time you revived a trophy,” Amira whispered, her face shining with delight. “But seriously girls, one would think you guys just got the biggest award or something. Tone it down; eyes are watching us, too.” Diana said with a wide smile this time. She looked towards Moon, whose embarrassment wouldn’t let her leave the floor, and nobody was willing to help either or offer a word of consolation. “But seriously, I thought you
