Chapter Ninety-One: Rouge Brother

“Let me know if you need any help!” I call to Theo from the entrance of the bathroom, the warm bath I had run will hopefully stop him catching a cold and clean any ground in dirt I had seen. “I will Fern!” He calls back whilst I hear little glee filled splashes as he played around in the water, allowing a smile to fill my lips as I walk back into the main part of the bedroom where the angry Alpha still stood by the bed. “I still do not like the fact that rouge is in my pack especially, within my pack house.” He growls as I went to sort the bed Theo would he sleeping in, it didn’t take much persuasion for Archer to allow Theo to sleep in one of the many spare rooms of the pack house, but I still knew Archer hated it. “We didn’t have much other choice Arc, he’s an eight-year-old child who if was left out in that cold, would have been dead by morning for something he was born into.” I say understanding it was a lot to ask from him, but I couldn’t allow that boy to die while I was a

Chapter Ninety-Two: Bloodline

The next morning, Archer and I woke up at the crack of dawn to meet with my family at Alpha Aidan’s pack, we were finally, going to speak with Darren and have him answer the questions he was avoiding yesterday. My main question was why did he run from me, I wouldn’t have allowed Archer to harm him in some way, so why’d he choose to throw me against the wall and make a run for it? Due to Archer’s medical assistance and my wolf, the deep cut on my head was relatively healed and only a small little scar like mark remained, which I knew would be gone also in a day or two. Before such a meeting could take place, Archer and I had scheduled breakfast as like normal but this time, Theo was joining us, something I knew Archer didn’t appreciate but also didn’t have any other choice but to go along with. So, sitting in the huge dining hall, we watched as little Theo devoured all the breakfast in front of him in such a way, it was as though he had never been fed before. After his third help

Chapter Ninety-Three: Out Of My Hand

After making sure Theo would be okay with Harriet and another guard close by to keep an eye on them, Archer and I left for Alpha Aidans pack, my father sending a message that he and Hadwin would meet us there. I did assume we’d travel the way Emmett and I did the day of my birthday; Archer would shift and due to my wolf being a hybrid, I would ride on his back. But instead, a black Aston Martin sat right outside of the pack house, such a car was beautiful to look at and one I didn’t know Archer kept. After some explanation, I learnt that one of Archer’s favourite hobbies was collecting cars, he had a secret garage hidden somewhere at the pack where he keeps all his most expensive cars. Whenever he had a spare moment, he goes to clean them and drives them around the borders but according to Archer, he’s been so busy with me since I arrived that he hadn’t had the chance to drive any of his cars lately, so he was taking advantage of this chance. I was soon sat looking out of the wi

Chapter Ninety-Four: Flesh Eaters

We all soon arrived in Aidans office, where he had set up four chairs for us to sit, something I knew Archer didn’t appreciate, he enjoys for me to sit on his lap throughout these exchanges and after our little interaction in the car, I knew he was looking forward to the closeness. “Please make yourselves comfortable.” Aidan smiled walking around his desk whilst my family take their coats off and hang them up, before I could do that very thing, Archer comes up behind me and helps me to take mine off. Sending him a smile as a thank you, he hangs up my coat along with his before quickly pulling out my chair for me. With a chuckle, I reach up to place a kiss on his cheek before sitting down, where he was soon by my side in an instant. “Your mother would be so happy.” Aidan said watching the exchange that Archer and I shared, where I had to send him a raised eyebrow not seeming to understand what he meant. “Before your mother died, she would always tell me how all she ever wanted wa

Chapter Ninety-Five: Unknown Deaths

Once the term flesh eaters left his lips, the fear that had somehow appeared in the pit of my stomach remained but also, much confusion along with it. I believe I knew a lot about our world, the vampires, sorcerers, Lycan’s and even hybrids, but I had never come across a term such as that before. “Flesh eaters?” I ask hoping he would be able to explain more and not simply throw a name around and expect us all to understand, where Darren only sighs once again. “Yes, Flesh Eaters, they are a hound of creatures who stalk many areas of the unclaimed territories and capture their prey to well, do what their name implies.” He explains still not giving us a whole lot of answers, before the images I had seen back in the tunnel that I didn’t fully understand clung to my mind. “And why have none of us ever heard about these flesh eaters, if such a creature is known to stalk our borders, we would surely know about it.” Alpha Aidan said cutting in whilst I took myself back to the tunnel and

Chapter Ninety-Six: A Tunnel

After taking some moments away in the fresh air in hopes of calming myself down, Archer and I walk back into Aidan’s office where Darren was now skimming through an old looking book on the desk, everyone else huddled around to get a look for themselves. “Are you okay hunny?” My dad asked turning around to look at me with a look of concern, sighing with a little smile whilst Archer stood beside me with his hand over my waist I nod. “I’ll be alright, I just needed some air to calm my worried thoughts, these past few months have been a lot for me and well everyone, I just needed a time out.” I explain happy that my father cared about me to ask but knowing it wasn’t just about me, according to Darren, these things have been able to kill so many innocent people! “Darren is showing us the book he claimed the story to be in.” Alpha Aidan explained as Archer and I joined the group of people huddled around the desk, whilst Darren hurriedly flipped through. “Here it is! Chapter Ninety-Seven: Haunted Memories

After my realisation of the tunnel, we all wasted no time heading towards my father's pack to see if there was indeed a tunnel linking the old cellar and that bunker. Even Darren was tagging along, he said he’d been looking at that map for ages and hadn’t been able to see a tunnel, he felt it was his right to see it and asked to join. None of us wanted to waste time having a back and forth with him, so we agreed, him and Alpha Aidan going in one car, Archer and I in his and my family in wolf form heading for home. With my arm rested on the car door watching as the many trees wizzed by, I couldn’t help the swirling questions that littered my brain. Mostly surrounding these flesh eaters and why it was only me who could battle them off, when Archer had told me what the King had said, I think we all assumed he was talking out of his ass in order to grasp at any straws to get me to return to the palace with him, but now to learn that maybe what he was saying held some truths, I couldn’t

Chapter Ninety-Eight: Cardigan

The sound of my heartbeat continuously beats in my ears the closer I walked towards the entrance of the cellar, Hadwin looking back at me with the same look knowing what must be going around my head. I came to a stop right at the top of the staircase, the vast emptiness of cellar below only allowing me to worry that much more. “If you two don’t feel comfortable going down there, you could wait topside.” My dad said once he too saw both Hadwin and I hesitating a little, I wish he would have seen the times we were like this growing up but with everything, I knew I couldn’t hold that over his head. Even though I wanted to take him up on his offer more than anything, deep down I knew what Archer had said in the car before was correct. This place has been the subject to some of my most awful nightmares, whenever I think about what happened to my mother, I’m always transported back to this spot where I’m filled with such fear that I almost pass out. If I agree to wait up here, it’s as

Chapter Ninety-Nine: Man Of The Hour

None of us went to move or even talk for the first few seconds, the long and dark tunnel in front of us taking each person off guard and pushing us into a stunned silence. I know I had seen this tunnel on the map, and it was the sole purpose for our journey here, but I hadn’t quite planned ahead if we were to find it. The same sounds from the secret bunker back at Archer’s pack filled my ears, the dripping water hitting the hard concrete floor echoed all the way here, offering me the freighting images of what may lay deep within here, if Darren was able to learn of this place, who else or what else for that matter could have stumbled across it. Now I knew about these flesh eaters, my once determined mind to walk into any situation without thinking about the consequences flashed from my mind. “I was not expecting that.” Alpha Aidan says from behind us all breaking the silence, whilst Archer lifts up the torch in his hand and begins to shine it along the wall, even the surrounding w

Chapter One Hundred: Nice Luna

My feet remained glued to the floor under me as Archer’s father Alexander and I hold each others eye contact, he was the last person I thought I was going to see today even though Theo had warned us of his plans for a visit. This meant I truly didn’t know what to do. “Miss Fern Hewitt! Haven’t you grown since the last time I saw you!” He called over to me in a mocking type of voice, his comment breaking me from my thoughts and such an odd sinking feeling to take over my body as I notice the many others stood behind him as backup. Within mere seconds, Archer along with Emmett, arrived at the scene to witness what I had. Before I could blink, a hand is placed around my waist, and I’m soon pulled back, Archer’s towering body shielding me from the smirking man at the other side of our border. His entire body shaking with uncontrollable rage, this was the first time he was seeing his father after that frightful day in December. “Don’t you ever look or speak to my mate ever again!” Ar
