Chapter 21Mondrian’s POV“You had no right!!” “You were not letting me do my job,” Alex keeps his eyes on me, his stance defensive yet submissive. “You we’re too blinded by your own rage.”“Regardless of that, you knew I didn’t want her to be around that scene and yet you still brought her back!” I retort coldly, folding my arms across my chest as I stare at my Beta and active telepath and empath. “I assure you Drian, there is nothing I detest more than the vile witches that kill our kind is to go against your wishes and you know that. I had no choice. You would have killed him.” I huff, shuffling on both feet tearing my eyes away from him letting them roam across the office I had asked for. “He deserved it and probably even much more than death itself, that fledgling is even more stupid than humans if he truly thought for a moment that he’d be able to get away with what he did, he’s lucky it’s only a broken nose and being choked.”“I am aware of your…displeasure to the situation.

He’d only tapped into the wart but source streaming signs of hee form from the very tips of her feet that stood upon the ground, to the wind that blew against her hair. Celene probably thought she was all alone and that’s supposed to be certain judging by the closed space that served as an entrance into the woods, if not the gifts that the alpha possessed he probably would have missed the slight change in the direction of the bushes and missed the rustling of leaves and the sound of the water. Mondrian moved with stealth, transforming into a cloud of dust moving through

Chapter 24

Chapter 24 Celene’s POV My heart was pounding furiously in my chest as I opened the door to my room, with the anticipation of no more than finding the solitude that was becoming my good friend. But as I stepped through the door frame, there, standing in the center of the room, was Cristoff, his presence as unexpected and unwelcome as it was. His eyes cut straight into mine, his gaze piercing deep within my soul. "Where have you been?" Desperation laced in the tightness of his voice, though it stayed serenely cool as ever. My first reaction to him being there was an angry storm mixed with fear. I was cautious, wasn't I? Nobody was supposed to know about my affairs. Least of all, Cristoff. For a moment, I just stayed there, appalled, my mind reeling for some possible means of escape. "What are you doing here?" I finally demanded, my voice sharper than I had intended it to be. I stepped backward, trying to put some distance between us, as though somehow this could ease the tensi

Chapter 25 Celene pov Cristoff, stop! You're too loud, someone might hear you," I said to him, placing my ear on the door to feel if someone might be outside. "But are you sure you're telling me the truth? Because, believe me, I am really confused here," I said, trying to pull my hands away from his grasp. But he held them tight, his eyes locked on mine. "Celine, just look into my eyes. Do you think I would stand here lying to you?" he asked, his voice filled with sincerity. But I could see in his eyes that he wasn't joking. There was so much seriousness written all over him. I was taken aback by his intensity. "But how can I understand all this, Cristoff? This isn't making any sense," I said, feeling frustrated and confused. "I know, and I understand you very much," he replied, his grip on my hands still firm. "But why do you think I've been coming to your room the previous nights? It was because I wanted to talk to you, to tell you the truth." I looked at him, searching for
