While our hearts were heavy, Mateo and I walked in together. I thought about Ayla all the time. She got in with Mateo's name instead of mine because I couldn't tell Isaac or Henry. I wasn't ready to answer the things they asked. Mateo agreed right away and pretended to be Ayla's father to keep us safe. Even though I was thankful, it made things feel even more difficult. We have requested the hospital keep it low profile that Mateo is a doctor also getting treatment.
