I tossed on the bed, groaning at the sharp pain in my shoulders and lower abdomen. Yesterday had been a kind of adventure, but I was paying dearly for it at the moment. After I slept off, I woke up late at night to discover I was still joined with my mates. It was the most painful thing ever, and when I finally succumbed to another round of slumber, I couldn't be more grateful for the reprieve. Waking up now felt like hell. My lower abdomen hurts. I couldn't even feel my legs. And let's not forget the throbbing pain in my shoulders. I perked my eyes open, expecting to see my mates, only to discover I was alone on the vast bed.
