Chapter Twenty One

‘Rest you mad fucking dog, we’ll talk when you feel a bit better’He was angry with me as I had put our whole mission in jeopardy but as I settled down to sleep I mind-linked him,‘I would do it again in a heartbeat Jack, you know that, my instincts are to protect regardless of the cost to myself and I know you would have done the same thing’He huffed and shook his head but then he smiled across at me and said, ‘You are still one crazy mutt.’ A few hours later the all-clear sounded and the two MPs led us out to an American Jeep they had ‘borrowed’ to get us to the British-held area. Exhausted and stiff with pain I jumped onto the back seat and whimpered as they bounced over the craters heading for what was left of the main road. We were stationed in a large hotel basement that had been sectioned off into rooms. I

Chapter Twenty Two

‘I will take out the Insurgents, you free them and then we’ll concentrate on him’Jack nodded and made his way around to the Ukrainians, he caught their attention discreetly and they knew to keep silent as he positioned himself. When he was ready he gave me a nod and I made my move, bunching my hind leg muscles I leapt forward catching the first Insurgent by surprise landing on his back and snapping his neck. The other three scrabbled away shouting in fear at the sight of a huge white wolf attacking them. I used their fear as they tried to run instead of using their weapons dispatching them with ease. Humans, especially panicked and terrified, are so fragile no match for my razor-sharp teeth and claws. While I killed them Jack pulled his knife and cut through the ropes of the captive soldiers who leaped to their feet and tore the warm coats of the dead Insurgents,‘Stay right where you are’The Leader stood pointing his gun at me and I faced him snarling,‘I do not know what you are D

Chapter Twenty Three

We soon established our link within the White House and he arranged a meeting with the President and the rest was up to us. The meeting wasn’t for another week due to the President's prior commitments he was out of the country for a few days so Jack and I did our touristy thing. We happily wandered the New York streets soaking in the atmosphere of the city that never sleeps walking through Central Park. We were stopped by the friendly locals fascinated by Jack’s huge white dog and they all wanted to chat. I was petted and fussed over by old ladies and children much to his amusement as we meandered through the beautiful scenery I probed the minds of random people testing my powers for the upcoming meeting. We ate their famous hot dogs, tasted the Italian ice cream and Jack drank gallons of hot strong black American coffee. We both made the same huge mistake, we let our guard down thinking we were anonymous among the millions of tourists. We seriously underestimated American intelligenc

Chapter Twenty Four

‘Yes, I did, we are in a very dangerous position Jack, they have nothing to lose, if they are found out they will be eliminated by their own government. If they get what they want they will have the power to overthrow this President and his party and elect the Democrats in their place.’ I stood up and shook myself and contacted Thomas, ‘This is worse than we thought’ He acknowledged, I could sense his disgust at their betrayal of their country, it would never cross his mind to commit an act of treason like this, 'What are you going to do Sirius?’

The other one replied just as indignantly, ‘I hear there won’t be a trial him, and that bloody idiot who thinks he should be President will be shot and disposed of discreetly, no one will ever know, it all being kept hush-hush. I happen to care about our relationship with the Brits. They are the finest fighting force we Americans have ever fought alongside, they have always, without fail, had our backs. Why would they betray our greatest Allies? Jack opened his eyes and looked at me then joined in their conversation, ‘Its what they deserve, selling out your country for power and money, I have no sympathy, I love my country and I would never let her down’ I rested my head on his lap,

She was strong, fast and highly intelligent but she could not access minds or control humans, she was Canine 02 and they had called her Mahina, which was Hawaiian for Moon. Chapter Twenty Seven

My Pups needed to work, their superior intelligence, strength, and abilities had to be utilized or they would become dangerous Rogues, they could never be human pets. They would have hated the long periods of inactivity and eventually resented their families and I did not want to contemplate the consequences of that. I knew the Demons that lurked under my skin, I could control it but my Pups did not have that ability. That power lay only in the pure-bred, me.I would not allow my offspring to become a danger to the human race I was sworn to protect. Eventually, Mahina understood and accepted my decision it broke her heart when the Pups went to their new homes. Chapter Twenty Eight

The British soldiers were sat in the corner of an old crumbling barn, I counted nine of them but I noticed they were being held with about half a dozen American personnel. Keeping to the shadows I moved closer scanning the men I searched for the Prince but he was not among them. My heart began to beat faster, as I used my radar, something was wrong he should have been with them. I crouched against the wall hidden from their view and waited I could feel their anxiety and I entered their minds to find out where our target was. His Regiment was terrified, the Isis Guards had discovered their prize and he had been dragged away from them a few hours earlier. They were close to tears because they believed he was dead and there had been nothing they could do to prevent it. As I listened I heard them planning with their American Allies to attack their Captors at the first opportunity that presented itself. As they talked quietly the door was suddenly thrown open and the Prince was dragged in.

Chapter Twenty Nine

He stroked my head and held my gaze, ‘Yes, Your Highness he is a very special dog’ Jack began and stopped when the PM intervened, ‘Ahh yes, Sirius is the first of our Project Canine dogs, bred with an extremely high IQ and far superior strength to any other animal. He is very much a prototype, we’re still discovering what he is capable of. His offspring, one of which is now a Guard for Her Majesty is not quite up to his standard but much cleverer than any ‘normal’ canine, quite an asset I can tell you.’ The Prince looked at the PM in surprise and he realized he had very nearly given away the whole Project Canine secret, turning a
