Chapter 31

Maeve POVI stand at the back of the pack. It was an icy night as my pack members all stood behind me. Everyone was holding a candle except me and Ario. The whole place was dark, with the candlelight illuminating it. A soft song played, and I walked down the aisle as the pack members turned to us. They sang a soft, beautiful rhythm. The moment was peaceful, and I felt happy as I looked at Ario. He smiled at me proudly; he couldn’t see my face, but I hoped he could feel my emotion. My love, joy, and respect. I hope he can feel them. I smiled, getting to him, and it was quiet. It was a full moon, and it gave the whole place an extra glow. Ario took my hand, climbing up the little stairs.“Kneel,” he said. I nod my head, kneeling. Then the ceremony started. Ario said a lot of things, his voice echoing, and I paid attention. When he was talking, he brought a big golden bowl with a knife. He gave me a very sharp knife, and I cut into my palm, bleeding out inside the bowl. I watched as he we

Chapter 32

Maeve POVI breathed out heavily, covered in sweat, as I watched my pup cry out loudly. It was the middle of the night, and the past few weeks have been peaceful. A week after I became Luna, they put me on bed rest as my stomach got bigger and I was physically weak to do anything, so it had to stay on bed rest. Earlier in the morning, my water broke when I went to pee, but I had no idea. I thought I had too much to drink because I had been drinking a lot of liquid. We were sleeping, and I suddenly felt that pain, and it has all happened so fast. Ario gave a room to Brandon temporarily in our quarters, so he helped me to the pack hospital. Ario and Pa were panicking while I was trying not to lash out at them. But finally, I smiled happily with tears in my eyes as Brandon carried my pup in his arms. I couldn’t see his face, but he had a head full of black hair.“What is the gender?” I asked. Brandon smiled.“Boy,” he said.“Yes!” I heard Ario yelling from the back of the door. Yes, I cha

Chapter 33

Maeve POVI walk down the packed ground with Otto wrapped tight around my back. It has been three weeks, and things have been peaceful, too peaceful, and it makes my skin crawl. Otto is growing well into a quiet and observant pup. He doesn’t cry unless he is hungry or wants a diaper change. He would look at you and never stop looking, waiting for you to look away first. I never see him laugh, but he smiles when Brandon does something funny. He is looking a lot like a younger version of Ario, no features of mine on his face or body, which is weird, but the genes must be crazy.Ario has been the best father he can be; he always bathes him, dresses him up, and sometimes he dresses him up in matching clothes. He is happy, and he is not worried about anything like I have been. Otto has been his missing piece, and he is not only a good father but a mate. I guess I still feared deep down he was doing it for the pup, but he has been more affectionate than before; sometimes he would watch me sl

Chapter 34

Maeve POV“There are no rules, and it is a duel to death,” I said, and there was murmuring. Brandon stood, looking at Mason, and he looked lost. He stood, wearing his blue sweatshirt and white tank top. He looked lanky, especially how his hair covered one of his eyes.“You have a whistle?” I asked. Ario nodded his head, looking worried but not saying anything. He brought it out, blowing the whistle. Mason didn’t wait; he swung his fist at Brandon. Brandon fell flat on the floor, looking at the sky. Everyone chuckled.“Stand up, you weak gay,” he taunted, walking around him. Brandon sighed, sitting up. He cleaned his lips, looking at the blood, and he almost looked betrayed as he looked at Mason. But he sighed, packing his hair in a tight bun, then he removed his tank top, revealing his muscled body and manly tattoos, which he doesn’t really show.Brandon is gay but doesn’t act girly all the time. People insult him sometimes because they think he acts girlish, but Brandon can blend into

Chapter 35

Maeve POV“Really?” he asked. I nod my head.“I cried in this pond,” I said, chuckling.“But he looks so in love with you,” he said, looking surprised at me. I looked at him.“On the night of my birthday, Mary took me to a club to clear my head. She mixed some drinks, and I got drunk. I met him at the club, and it was all history until the next day. I thought he would accept me and do what mates do; he plainly rejected me without saying the words and left,” I said. He gasped.“That stupid bitch Mary!” he yelled. Well, no one likes the beta family. I only tolerated Mary.“I got to the pack, and it was in ruins. I watched my mother die, and she told me to run. I did as she said, panicked, confused and I watched the pack blow up so I had no one to run to but somehow I met myself in this pack. Ario took me in because he knew father but still didn’t accept me, then we found out I was pregnant. He accepted the pup immediately, and we were supposed to co-parent while I became the gamma of the

Chapter 36

Maeve POV “Put in some work!” I yelled at the warriors. They growled, coming at their partners with their swords. “Think of it as your enemy!” I yelled, watching the bloody men. They were wearing black shorts with swords. I split the warriors long ago; these are the warriors, my armies, and the ones I bounced out are the guards. Their training is not as exceptional as this; only powerful minds can pass this training, and we just recruit new people. “Out!” Brandon yelled at the guy. The nurses came, dragging him away. I walked towards Ario; he was standing, crossing his arms. It’s been years, and he has not changed a bit. He is looking more muscular now, and he grew his hair out. “This set is more gruesome,” I said, collecting the bottled water. “True, we are increasing daily,” he said. I sighed, running my hand down my hair. “I don’t think we should recruit more; we have not been at war with anyone,” I said. “That’s because they are scared,” he said. I sighed. “It’s been 5 year

Chapter 37

Maeve POVWe all sat in silence, looking at the young woman in front of us. It’s been three days, and as promised, Duncan got a witch. We have all been sitting down for the past 5 minutes, and she has not said one word. I looked at Duncan, and he shrugged his shoulders.“They said she was the best in town,” he said. I faced the witch, patiently waiting for her to talk. As she requested, we are in an empty room; we are all seated on the floor with our legs folded. The door opened, and a black-haired little boy peeped inside. I smiled at Otto.“Mom,” he said, rubbing his eyes. He was sleeping, wondering how he found me.“Come in,” I said, smiling at him. He closed the door, yawning, then walked towards me and sat on my folded laps.“How was your nap?” I asked, brushing his messed-up hair. He rested his head on my chest, looking up at me.“Annoying. Leah kept on snoring,” he said. I chuckled, looking at Duncan. Well, she is supposed to watch over the pups, but I guess the pregnancy is wea

Chapter 38

Maeve POV“What do you mean?” I asked, my heart beating.“Yes, he is Carson, and Selene is still angry that you killed him. She blocked the bond with hopes of you both not mating, but you both fell in love again like you did without the bond,” she said, a proud smile on her face.“But you said he was her mate, so isn’t he supposed to be mates with her?” Brandon asked.“Yes, except Selene was never supposed to have a mate. It was her punishment for killing her mother. Carson was always for Selena, but she changed their fates,” she said. I sighed.“So where is the son, and what’s happening?” I asked.“Your son is alive; his name is Odin, and he and little Otto here are friends, right, Otto?” she asked. We looked at Otto, and he nodded his head, smiling. But I was more confused.“Don’t get confused, dear. Your son Odin has been looking for you both, but he could only get to Otto because you both wouldn’t recognise him. Odin and Otto are very powerful; they both drained you of your energy,

Chapter 39

Maeve POVI breathe out in front of the mirror. I was nervous. I never thought I would be nervous, but today I am having cold feet. I never imagined in my entire life I would have a son, a son I didn’t know about. Don’t know how to feel, but it just makes everything that the witch said true. I am really Selena, and Ario is Carson.“You’ve been standing in front of that mirror for hours now,” Ario said, Quinn in his arms.“What am I supposed to do? Hello, hi, my name is Maeve, and I am your mother,” I said, staring at him from the mirror. He smiled while walking close to me.“Mama,” Quinn said, doing grabby hands. I glared at Ario.“You are spoiling her way too much; you should stop carrying her. She is no longer a baby,” I said, carrying her from Ario’s arms. I smiled at her; she is just a mini me. I looked exactly like this when I was her age.“You spoil her just as much as I do,” he said, smirking at us. I rolled my eyes.“But, honestly, you should relax. I’m sure Odin understands wh

Chapter 40

Maeve POVOdin sat in front of the mirror, looking at me quietly as I cut his hair. He said he was tired of keeping long hair, so I am going to cut it short and also trim it. But his hair is really healthy and full; I love the thickness of his hair.“You have such pretty hair,” I said, running my hands through it.“I got it from you,” he said. I smiled, knowing that’s how my hair is; the only difference is that his is thicker.“Who raised you after you knew we died?” I asked. He breathed out.“Well, after you died, I ran,” he said. I looked at him, surprised.“Really?” I asked.“Yes, I ran,” he said.“Why?” I asked. He breathed out.“Well, after you died, Selena was angry, and she wanted her revenge. She wanted to kill me, so I ran before she could,” he said.“But you were just a little pup,” I said.“Yes, but she didn’t care. She wanted to kill the one thing you cared so much for,” he said.“So, how did you survive?” I asked.“Well, I kept on running. I never stopped because she kept
