CHAPTER 61 Echo

Elsie's POV   Training at night had become far too familiar for me. Back in the Autumn Pack we always met at sunrise, the crack of dawn to meet the trainer and get to work. That always felt too safe, I wanted to have a constant threat surrounding me so I would always be alert, in the darkness. The more I thought about my training at the Autumn Pack, the less I remembered. Each day the memories of what I learnt faded away. All I was left with was the negative comments from Rory after each session, telling me I would never be strong enough to be a warrior. But after my secret training sessions at the Summer Pack, doing it at night time felt far more exhilarating. The darkness enhanced my senses, which made me want to work harder and be aware of my surroundings as they were less visible. The moonlight had fuelled me, the glow of the moon pouring down on me gave me an animalistic surge like I had never felt before, it was powerful. Like a beacon of the Moon Goddess illuminated me

CHAPTER 62 Inside the Mind of a Warrior

Oris's POV I wanted to keep all eyes on Elsie, to make sure she was always safe, which also meant accompanying her to the warrior training ground. I had to admit I was incredibly curious about what went on, aside from the Warrior Selection I had never really seen any of our warriors in action with their training. So having the opportunity to witness this on the sidelines would be something spectacular. This was, of course, my own fault. I spent so much of my time with my nose in various books I failed to notice the hive of activity of the Summer Pack around me. You could say that Elsie was opening my eyes. I feel like I had become enthralled with Echo's words as she spoke to Elsie, she seems like a wise and experienced warrior. Which made me realise our Pack is in great hands when it comes to protection, especially if a war between us and the Autumn Pack is imminent. The way things are going… I watched Elsie take on Echo, her grace as she glides across the ground, spinning

CHAPTER 63 Tender Love and Care

Elsie's POV I felt all my worries leave my body with the slow exhale as I lay back into the bath Oris had drawn. Soapy bubbles lay on the surface of the water, covering my body, and the warm water felt like a comforting hug all around me. I closed my eyes and let my thoughts run away with me, removing all the negativity from my troubles. I just allowed the heat and softness of the water to envelope me and consume my problems. A gentle knock sounded on the door. "Elsie," Oris spoke "How's the bath? Do you need anything?" I smiled, keeping my eyes closed "The bath is heaven," I sighed "And I just need you," "Oh," Oris said with a shock tone to his voice. And even though I couldn't see him directly in my sight, I knew his cheeks would be flushed with a pink tint from my words "Right away," I opened my eyes and watched Oris enter the bathroom. He pulled a wooden stool from the side of the room and sat by my side, his eyes wandered my naked form covered in bubbles and the

CHAPTER 64 You're a Monster

Rory's POV "You're a lot more likeable when you're quiet, kid," I said as I clumsily placed the child onto the bed in the spare room. Making some attempt to pull the covers over her. I was never good with children, and much preferred them when they didn't talk back. I wondered if I was cut out to be a Father myself, but the beauty of having Elsie bear my heirs, was that she would raise them until they were at an age I could have an intelligent conversation with them.   "Go to sleep," I grunted to the child as I left the room. She rolled over and appeared to have drifted off. Hopefully she wouldn't cause me any bother for the rest of the night, I had plans. I left the room and closed the door behind me, feeling exhilarated that I could finally have some time to relax with Delilah, it had been a long time coming! I hurried down the hallway, arousal already building inside me as my cock twitched at the very thought of the blonde waiting for me in my bed. Entering the room, De

CHAPTER 65 You Want a Fight?

Kai's POV Shifting into our wolf forms, Brutus and Rex would be quicker to travel through the forest, heading East as the Doctor directed us. I sure hope he was telling the truth. I didn't like being played, no one made Kai look stupid. No one. Reaching the edge of the forest, we saw the moonlight shine through the space in the trees as the area became more open at the entrance, so we shifted back into our human forms upon reaching the mouth of the forest. "That's it," Theo said as his eyes focused on the house in the near distance. He tilted his head slightly as though he studied it. "What's up?" I asked, tilting my own head to see if it gave the house a different appearance or something. Nope, it still looked like the same house, just on a weird angle. I tilted my head in both directions until I became too dizzy to carry on. "The house is smaller than I imagined," Theo said "It looks like its just popped up from the ground, like it's sprung out of nowhere," "Okay gran

CHAPTER 66 Betrayal

Rory's POV I had seemingly underestimated the Warren brothers, after taunting them to the point they wanted to spill my blood, I had shifted and launched my attack at them. They were strong, more than I remembered. But the last time we fought was many years ago back when we were younger. Enough time had passed for the brothers to build up their strength. The younger brother had caught me first, swiftly making his attack as I tried to dodge his fierce jaws which came at me, but I failed. His teeth sunk straight into my neck, and I knew this one meant business. He wished me dead. The pain stung through me as I felt my blood leak and congeal onto my fur, and as I eventually managed to release his jaws from me, Theo attacked me from the other side. Theo's wolf was definitely stronger than I recalled. He pinned me to the ground effortlessly, and I watched the fury burn in his eyes as he bared his sharp gleaming teeth through parted lips. His gaze penetrated mine, as though he wa

CHAPTER 67 You Can Stay

Theo's POV Shifting back into my human form, the taste of Rory's blood resided on my tongue. I tried to calm myself, my chest heaving as I steadied my quickened breath. "Fucker got away!" Kai grumbled as he stormed back into the house "I tried to chase him, but I lost him. He went into the woods I think,"   "Shame," I replied as my voice rasped with the strain "I would have liked to have played with him tonight," Kai nodded "Let's go catch up with him," a grin spread on his face "He's limping, should be easy!" Shaking my head, I couldn't care less about Rory at this moment. My main focus was Gracie, I needed to find her!   "I need to find Gracie first," I told Kai firmly "I want her safe in my arms, I'm beside myself with worry!" I watched Kai's expression fall flat, I could tell even though he was disappointed at my decision, he knew Gracie was our priority now. "Of course bro," Kai responded "I'll start looking upstairs, you check down here," Without another word, Kai

CHAPTER 68 The New Serum

Rory's POV My eyes remained on the Doctor, watching his face begin to twitch, matching the movement of his fingers. He should be awake any moment. After knocking him stone cold unconscious, I had used the restraints on the bed to hold Luke down. His arms were strapped by his side as he lay on his back comfortably.   It was just a matter of waiting now.   Taking my eyes to the table by my side, I had rummaged through the Doctors tools and chosen a varied selection of implements to torture him with, if he chose not to comply. I didnt know anything about torture, its always something I've had others do for me, but I would wing it. How hard could it be? 'Why are we wasting time with this asshole, Rory?' Evander grunted in my mind as he appeared. He looked weak and defeated still from the fight with the Warren's. But I knew soon enough he would be back to full health. 'He can help us,' I replied to my wolf 'He's the only chance I have to improve the serum, modify it to my advant

CHAPTER 69 Be Careful

Elsie's POV Theo and Kai had been gone for a while, and although I knew they were okay, I still felt concerned for their safety. I had not experienced any sensation that suggested they were hurt or in danger, so I knew I had to remain patient for their return.   "You're pacing again," Oris glanced up at me from the book he has his nose in "Grab a book, take a seat," He was right, I had been walking up and down the library anxiously as my mind wandered to the worst. "Sorry Oris, I just worry you know?" I smiled at Oris, he closed his book and set it down on his lap, as he sat comfortably on the leather sofa. I wish I had his calm. "I'm surprised you haven't worn a path in that rug the way you've been walking over it so much," Oris spoke, peering over his glasses at me. I wasn't sure if his comment was sarcastic or serious, perhaps this rug meant alot to him. A family heirloom maybe. "Alright," I exhaled gently "I'll sit down," It was then the sound of the front door ope

CHAPTER 70 Seeking His Comfort

Elsie's POV After Theo had left to show Bonnie to her room, I hadn't seen him for hours after. I was beginning to take it personally. So I went to find him. I headed toward his study, where he could usually be found when he needed alone time or was brooding, and that's exactly where he was. I knocked on the open door lightly, Theo looked up from the desk where he appeared to be messing with his phone and he gave me a weak smile. "Hey Elsie, what can I do for you?" He asked, shifting his eyes from between me and his phone screen. What was so important there? "You tell me," I replied, a frown formed on my brow and I entered the room "Theo, you've practically avoided me since you returned. I thought we could spend some time together, have I done something wrong?" I searched my mind trying to think if I had caused offence to Theo in any way, but I had remained in the house and on the premises, training as he suggested. Oris had been with me the entire time. "No," He shook h
