31. Date night

31. Date nightTonya has made a hell of a fuss to totally dress me up. Jax never mentioned what kind of date this is, but by the way Tonya has dressed me, I’m sure it’s something extremely classy. The dress is a long dress, right down to the ankles, with a slit going way up my thigh, a waterfall cleavage and thin shoulder straps all held in a dark navy blue with a slight glitter to it. It’s sexy and classy in one go. As it’s already autumn she paired it with a faux fur white bolero jacket and matching navy blue high heels. Even my wedding dress with Drake didn’t look this classy. As she never let me look at the prices, I’m nearly sure it must have cost a fortune. My ginger hair is pinned up with soft curls falling out of it here and there, giving it an elegant and playful look at the same time. And it’s finished off with an evening makeup, slightly smoky eyes, and a dark red velvety looking lipstick. Tonya also made sure I that am wearing matching lingerie, exclusive French lace, whic

32. Tingling fingers

The sounds of howling from all around erupt, just as the wind suddenly picks up, whisking heavy around us.“What the hell?” One of the guys who’s supposed to stay with me exclaims, and I follow his gaze to see what he’s talking about. The sea, which was calm only moments ago, is now totally wild with huge waves forming on it, hitting the harbour with an immense power. Everything standing close to the water simply gets swiped away and drawn into the sea. The wind around us starts lifting rooves off of the houses. Parts of the bar from the restaurant comes flying in our direction. The guy right next to me throws me to the ground and shields my body with his own. “Luna, we need to get away from this roof,” the second guy calls out over the howling as soon as the first guy shifts down from me.Holding me tight and shielding me with their bodies, they both rush to the elevator, pushing me inside as soon as it opens. I can see the staff that had been serving us all night, running too. One

33. Help

The flooded streets are full of injured people. Waves are still relentlessly hitting the harbour and coast all around. People are fleeing as fast as possible. The werewolves are definitely in advantage with the traction of four paws on the ground. I can see some of them helping humans to get into safer zones. In the background, I can hear fighting, seemingly coming from all directions. I try to focus on the stress calls in my head to find the directions I need to go. Which is a task of it’s own, as these are coming from all directions too.Any heavily injured people I cross on my way, I try to help as well as I can. Sadly, we also get to see the first dead people. It fills me with so much anger and sadness at the same time. Again and again, I try to feel into the bond with Jax. He seems worried and stressed but at least unharmed. The two guarding me flank my sides at all times. I’m sure they’ve already told Jax that I’m out here, which won't please him. Even if this means I’m in troubl

34. White Jax’s POV

Jax’s POV:I look down at my mate, lying on the cold ground, passed out, and covered in several bites. A horrified howl escapes my muzzle, and everyone around me joins in. They seem to fight even more fierce than ever before, keeping the vampires as far away from Amelia as possible. Pressing my muzzle repeatedly against hers, I hope for some kind of reaction, but she doesn’t move.Needing to take care of her, I shift into my human form, pull on some shorts that get thrown at me, and pull Amelia’s wolf body into my arms. Her wolf is the most beautiful wolf I have ever seen. A slender figure, and she's fairly small for the amount of power she seems to radiate. Piercing blue eyes and white fur. Everyone around was astound at the sight of her. None of us have ever seen a pure white wolf before. Cream coloured, light grey, or other lighter shades, yes, even if they’re seldom. But never a spotless snow white fur as hers. There have always been different kinds of major myths about wolves wi

35. Pack matters Jax's POV

Jax’s POV:Alex knocks at the door, tearing me out of my thoughts. “Brother, I know you’re worried about her right now. But she’s in safety, and you’ve done everything you could to keep her safe. We’ve got more pressing matters right now. The pack needs their Alpha.” I know he’s angry with her for not listening to my orders and distracting me, when my entire attention should have been on protecting the pack and not having to worry about her.“I’ll be right there,” I tell him and take hold of Amelia’s hand again, not wanting to leave her just yet.“Now,” he says with determination, and a little pissed, tapping his hand on the doorframe impatiently. “The first reports are coming in, and the commanders are waiting in the meeting room for their Alpha to give them instructions.” He emphasizes the word Alpha, letting me know he thinks I’m neglecting my duties right now.Alex is the only person besides of Amelia, I’ll ever let talk to me like that. Anyone else would have been in massive trou

36. Protection Jax’s POV

Jax’s POV With disbelief, I stare down at Jenny who’s sitting on my couch. “What are you talking about?”Freddie gives her a warning glare, which only causes me to want to know whatever she’s got to say even more.Just as she’s about to start talking, he cuts her off hastily. “We don’t know anything for sure.” And he directs another warning glare towards Jenny who seems a little unfazed by his action.“But you know something.” It’s not a question but a statement. I need to know it, whatever it is, anything to make sense out of this and maybe find a better way to protect Amelia.“We’re here for a reason…” she starts off, and I can see she’s having a battle over mind link with Freddie. “If we can’t trust him, then whom else?” She bluffs at him and adds. “We can only do so much for her. He’s her mate and has got an entire pack behind him, while we’re only the two of us.” I can see the disapproval on his face, but she starts talking anyway.“As Freddie said, we really don’t know much. 37. Flickering Jax's POV

Jax’s POVJust as the nurse bursts into the room, the lights around us start to flicker strongly. It’s not the first time I’ve noticed this to happen lately. Until they suddenly totally go black, causing the human nurse to shriek again. Luckily, our eyes don’t have an issue. The little light falling in from the windows is enough for us to see clearly. But heartbeat is still racing at her rushing in here like that.“You…. You need to come,” the nurse stutters, totally shocked. “Something is wrong.”All of us jump to our feet and run panicked towards my bedroom. Even from far off, we can see the entire hallway is lit up in a luminescent way and slightly flickering white in the otherwise pitch black hallway. Entering the room, Tonya lets her phone drop to the floor, which she just had been holding to G****e on the myths. And each and every one of us gasps at the sight in front of us. “This is impossible,” Alex whispers with disbelief, resembling my very own thoughts. While they’re all fr

38. I'm a wolf

Amelia’s POVI wake up to a warm, fuzzy feeling in the pit of my stomach. For the moment, I don’t even want to open my eyes. I just want to feel this contentment a moment longer. I still feel very exhausted as if I had just run a marathon and spent all my energy on it. My mind is still a little in a haze, but I don’t mind at all as long I can feel this warm fuzziness. So, instead, I decide to snuggle up a little more into the sheets until I suddenly notice a slight weight on my body, causing me to open my eyes instantly. There’s the cause of my warm, fuzzy feeling right against me. Jax is leaning with his head on my shoulders and his arms wrapped tightly around my middle, seemingly fast asleep. My heart starts to go into overdrive at the sight of him cuddled up with me. His beautiful face looks so peaceful in this very moment, but exhausted at the same time. Looking up, I realise I have no idea where the hell I am. Again! This seems to have become a new habit. This isn’t my new apart

39. Surprises

Frustrated I’m sitting on the edge of the bed, close to crying in a disappointment and anger, letting my face fall into my palms.“You can’t force it,” Tonya tries to calm me. Telling me the same thing repeatedly as the last couple of days. It’s been three days since the attack and my very first shifting. Now, no matter how often I’ve tried to tell myself to shift since then, it has happened a single time. No, instead, my stupid wolf seems to be ignoring me, too. She's not responding to anything. And to top it off, I haven’t really seen Jax since that morning either anymore.Tonya and Ben have kept me updated mainly. Things are apparently insane out there. There has been so much destruction caused within one night. People are barely able to mourn their loved ones, as they’re too caught up in building things up again. So it’s understandable, Jax can’t be here the entire time, I do miss him, though. I’m still sleeping in his bed while he’s taking the couch for the very few hours he does

40. Happy birthday

My eyes start to glisten at the thoughtfulness of this entire gesture. Drake always made sure I had birthday gifts, and we would celebrate very small with a cake, but no one has ever made this much of an effort. They’re all smiling and excited themselves as if it was their very own birthday.Tonya is all giddy and insists on me opening her gift first while bouncing up and down. Her hands clasp together in front of her while she watches me impatiently unwrap her gift. There are two boxes, one contains a beautiful pair of Louboutin high heels in black patent leather and red soles, and the other has a matching handbag with tinny sequins on it. They’re both beautiful but way over the top, knowing the price of these things.“Oh my god, Tonya! Thank you! But you really shouldn’t have spent such a fortune on me,” I exclaim.A mischievous grin appears on her face, while her eyes dart from me to Jax. “Don’t worry, I paid it with his credit card. But I thought these would be perfect for when we
