Kayda. It had been two days since I had seen anyone but Daisy. She would come in , freshen up my room, bring me some meals, always smiling and chatting like it was normal to be playing ladies' maid to a girl being held captive. Daisy had, however, not come last night, and Mr Burton had knocked handing me a tray and walking away. My interest was peeked. She arrived bright and early this morning as I was just finished drying my hair carrying my breakfast tray. She placed it on the usual table by the picture windows. "Morning, Lady Kayda." she chirped, but her smile didn't reach her eyes today. She seemed less perky than usual. "Morning Daisy." I sighed, picking up the precious coffee and holding the mug comfortingly to my chest as I perched in the armchair. "Did you have a lovely afternoon off yesterday?" I asked. "Afternoon off?" she asked, pausing her bed making and seemingly appearing confused. "Oh, sorry, I assumed as Mr Burton brought my tray that you were off." I explaine
