First Day, New School

"Chloe, you really don't want to be late on your first day at the new school." She heard her mom say as she passed her door to go into her younger brother's room; the boy who for some reason believed he was older than she was. She groaned and shook her head. This wasn't fun like she thought it would, this was exhausting for her. When her parents told her they would move from New York City to this place; a small town in Alaska she was elated, and she thought that she would finally have some peace, but now it looked like she was starting to regret her decision to be happy. It wasn't really easy taking up early in the morning to prepare for school, especially a school that she was entering in, as a senior. Leighton High doesn't accept any students especially not in the middle of the year and not from a rich family, but because her grades were perfect, and her father and the principal went to the same college and were returning a favor, she had been accepted. She was sure that she wou

Trying Not To Draw Attention

Leighton High was not too far, but it wasn’t close either, so she started to walk at a fast pace until she was a few blocks away from the school, and she slowed down. She didn’t want to seem weird or even draw attention to herself so she cut the yard across to the parking lot and passed the side of the school building. The school was big, an obviously rich kid school, and the cars in the parking lots for students just made Chloe want to roll her eyes. They seemed like they would be more expensive than what her mother made in a year as a doctor in a small hospital or her dad’s in a bank. They were the typical normal parents but she was proud of them and what they do. Successfully, she was able to walk into the school without being looked at by anyone. She recognized the school groups, according to what they were doing. The tech groupies, the science nerds, the bad boys with the motorcycle, the bad girls' wannabes, the school prince and princess leagues, and the “woke” people. She shoo

Making His Blood Boil

The girl raised her head from the table, adjusting her hair and pushing it behind her left hair, then she said. “Huh, excuse me?” and just like that, he froze. Behind him, Liam whispered. “Fuck, who is that?” he asked.Whispering back, he said. “I have no idea, but fuck she’s beautiful.” He said them very low, under his breath so Liam was the only one that heard him. He was still looking at the girl he had never seen before. Must be the new girl. She was so fucking beautiful and the first things he noticed about her were her pink shiny lips and intense green eyes. They were the greenest eyes he had ever seen in his life. She had a perfectly straight nose and her teeth were white and straight as well. He could see that she was confused as she looked at him so he cleared his throat and said. “Get up from my seat, you’re in it.” He said, cutting out the bitch. She was new, so she couldn’t have known that it belonged to him. She started up at him for a while and then with an exasperated

"I want your attention"

She could feel her heart hammering in her chest as the teacher asked her to come forward to introduce herself. It was really something she didn’t think would happen after the teacher had already ignored her for a while. Behind her, the boy called Zach was staring at her weirdly, and it was causing her to sweat. She wasn’t even sure if his attention on her was the reason for her heart beating that wildly or if the tension from being in front of the class like this to introduce herself that caused it. Normally, she wasn’t usually shy if it was to come to solving something on the board, in fact, at that moment, her head was always raised high because she knew she was good at it, but, not so much with having this kind of attention. She cleared her throat and said. “Huh, my name is Chloe Miller, and huh, I am now.” She said ad everyone laughed. She looked at Zach to see that he wasn’t laughing like the rest, but the expression on his face was worse, somehow. It was an intense look that s

Being The New Girl In Class

Chloe looked at the question he had just written on the board before calling her and realized it was one of the questions she solved in getting ready for today’s class last night. But, the problem lies in going up there to solve it. The class was now focused on her, again. Normally, if there was no drama to it, and she was just called to come to solve it, most student who wasn’t paying attention to the teacher wouldn’t pay it to her, but now… Looking around, she saw them staring and felt as if the ground would open right up and swallow her. Standing up, she walked slowly to the front of the class. Behind her, a girl whispered to her friend. “Look at her ass in trouble already. She better know what to write or this would go to shit and everyone would remember her for the rest of the school year.” Zach had been the one to get her into this mess and should be the one here right now, but he was sitting down staring up at her instead, with that stupid smirk right there on his face. She

Curves In The Right Places

“That was mean and unlike you, Zach,” Liam said to him and he shook his head at him. “What did I do?” He asked, but he knew what he did. He knew what he was talking about. He wasn’t a bully if he was being sincere, but it was her fault he was like this. To be honest, all of these were just to get close to her. It was the only way that he knew. He hated the way she was making him feel so out of control. This foreign feeling was what he didn’t understand and why he was acting this way. He needed to keep her close so that he would be able to get rid of the feeling. It wasn’t that simple, but it was the only way he knew. Liam didn’t know this, and he wasn’t sure that he would read any more meaning into this than just being mean to her. Maybe none of his friends would notice at all, but who was he kidding? They would be interested soon enough to get to the bottom of this. His life was something similar to things placed under the microscope. “You really should stop being an ass to her, y

Hated Day Turned Loved Day

She looked at him and then she swallowed visibly before walking to sit in front of him. She looked over her shoulder at him and their eyes met. “You really should consider trying to avoid attention.” He said it to her for her own good, but the look on her face told him that she took it the wrong way. He sighed and shook his head. “I’m sorry you started with a bad day.” He added, and Chloe looked around the class with a frown on her face. He could tell that she was have been surprised that he said that and that was why she was looking around. He smirked and said. “I just feel sorry, that’s all.” He bit his tongue as soon as he realized how that sounded, and he wanted to slap some sense into himself. That sounded, even more, worse than telling her not to get attention to herself. He shut up after that and faced the teacher, leaving her to do the same. He felt someone tap her and the girl beside him passed him a sheet of paper. She whispered. “It’s from Zoe” and faced front as if she h

Little Bird Introduced To Zach

Chloe was finishing up making dinner when her phone beeped and she frowned. She wasn’t expecting a text from anyone and she surely didn’t have any friends that would be texting her. She ignored the text and walked to the pot to open it, and then she checked what she had in it. Closing her eyes for a bit, she inhaled the scent of the food and nodded. It was almost ready. Her mother should be back from work later tonight, which was why she was cooking. Her father was watching a late game with her brother, Cameron while Camden was doing his homework on the kitchen table. This was exactly how Chloe had envisioned her life as a married woman, her husband early from work, with her kids either doing their homework or bonding with their father while she made dinner. Chloe wanted a big family with four kids, two dogs, and a house with a picket white fence. She wanted to bond with her family as well, and have healthy meals with them. She wanted to be a mother that was not only hardworking in

Mean But Inciting Butterflies

Chloe's heart raced as she stood there in the kitchen with her phone to her chest and she couldn’t perceive the burning smell that was coming from the cooker. It wasn’t until Camden called her name twice that she snapped out of it. She looked at him and asked. “What's going on? Why did you call me like that? You need my help or something?” she asked him but he shook his head and pointed to the cooker. “Something is burning.” She looked behind her and her eyes went huge again, then she ran to the cooker to turn it off. The food wasn’t burning because the cooker was on low heat but she had mistakenly let the napkin she was using fall close to the burner of the cooker and it had caught on slowly. Grabbing the unaffected end of the napkin, she hauled it over to the sink and opened the faucet to turn off the fire. Thankfully, it just started and the windows were opened so everything was back to normal in a couple of minutes. In annoyance, she dropped the phone in her pocket and ignored
