Chapter 101

Brent's POV Blue was extremely surprised as soon as she heard what I said. Her face was masked with horror. She must have thought that Rodrigo would come to save her, but unfortunately, it was the other way around. "That's impossible," Blue's voice came out in a hushed whisper. I snickered. "Nothing is impossible when it comes to Rodrigo," i replied. I slowly advanced towards her flicking my hands as i continued to speak. Terror was written all over her face. I went behind the chair she was tied up in and i could see her body tensed up, despite the fact that she was trying to hide her fear. "After all, someone has to pay for the costly mistake you made," I added and reached for her neck. "Beta Brent, do not do this," she finally panicked. "I'll make it fast and easy," I replied as I grabbed her neck. "Beta Brent, you will regret this, I promise you, you will..." She did not get to finish rolling out her threats when I snapped her neck hard, breaking the nerve cords in it. "You t

Chapter 102

Candice POV I was shocked that Devon could say this to me. Not that I was surprised that, that was exactly how he felt about me. I was shocked that he could utter those words to me, to my face! It crushed me to bits but, I was not backing down. I do not give a damn if Devon was not into me or if he did not want me. As long as I could get Olivia out of the way for good, I'll be contented with that. If I could not have Devon, then, no one would, not even Olivia Brent. "Ahem," Someone coughed behind me and I turned to see Susan standing with her arms crossed on her chest. She had a smug look on her face. "I see that the alpha has outrightly rejected you. I'm not that surprise," she said, smirking. I narrowed my eyes at her and chuckled dryly. "You call that rejection?" I inquired with a raised brow. "It most definitely is," she replied as she moved closer to me and uncrossed her arms as she slipped her hands behind her back, probably in her back pockets. She had these new glasses

Chapter 103

Devon's POVI walked into the cell and then there she was, seated on the chair she had been confined to, with all the bones in her neck broken. Whom ever she was walking with must have discovered that she was caught and locked up and had decided to see an assassin to kill her. A brilliant one at that. An assassin who knew the in and out of this palace or perhaps he was informed by someone. This meant that there was a lot of people involved in this, not just Blue. People far more dangerous than Candice, Rodrigo and Blue. Who were these people? Who was Blue working with?It bothered my mind a lot when I knew that this was all because of my mate, Olivia and because she was a stealer wolf.I narrowed my brows at Blue. She was so confident that her superiors in charge of all

Chapter 104

Olivia's POV I walked down the stairs and bumped into Susan. "Oh, excuse me, Olivia. I'm sorry I bumped into you," she apologized which was unusual. I was still not yet familiar with this sudden niceness Susan had towards me all of a sudden, but I gave her a small smile."It's fine, I was also not looking my way," I replied and advanced to walk past her."Wait," she said to me, making me stop in my tracks. I turned back to look at her and saw her smiling at me. "Are you feeling okay?" She asked me.I raised a skeptical brow. "Why? Should I not be feeling okay?" I asked her.She shrugged. "I'm not saying you should not, but, I do not expect you to be up and about already. I'm not sure the alpha would like that,"

Chapter 105

Candice's POV It was time for dinner and I was already seated alongside Susan on the dining table over platters of mouthwatering dishes. I plucked from the bunch of grapes sitting idly on the table and began to munch on it.Susan stared at me and I stared back at her. "What?" I asked."Should you not wait for the alpha?" She inquired.I shrugged. "He will..." I did not get to finish what I was saying when I saw Devon approaching the dining table with Olivia. He was walking beside her in a sweet and caring way and he had this look in his eyes. A look I have seen in a few men but definitely not on Devon and it pierced my heart that, that look was directed at Olivia. They both approached the table and Devon swiftly

Chapter 106

Devon's POV "Devon?" She called my name and I turned to look at her. I could tell that she had so many questions in mind just by looking at her eyes."Yes?" I replied. I anticipated her questions, perhaps it could be a bridge she would unintentionally let down to connect us."Sleep well," she said in her innocent voice of hers.Hell, I was not expecting that, but I didn't push it any further and for a few seconds, I stood there, staring at her, unable to move and so was she.The atmosphere between us became awkward and tensed. "You too," I replied and with that I walked out of her room.I should still be angry at her that she had succumbed to the manipulation of her

Chapter 107

Devon's POV "Apologize?" I inquired, staring at him as I paused in reading the book in my hand. Damian nodded. "I spoke quite unruly last night and I have come to tender an apology for it," he said. I closed the book in my hand. "Last night, you did have a point. I had a thorough thinking and I realized you were right," I replied. "I just did not go about it properly," he said. I nodded. "Exactly," I responded as I sat on the edge of the desk. "I'm just worried about you, Devon. That's all. That's what a friend in my shoes would do too," he said. "I understand," I replied. "But, aside my public display of affection towards her, there are other things to worry about," I added. He walked closer to me. "Yes, they are. Firstly you'll have to train, Devon. You will have to be ready for anything that could happen. Just in case Rodrigo brings an unexpected war to our doorstep," he said. "I have declined his offer of war, Damian," I replied as I stood up. "Yes, you have, but we both

Chapter 108

Devon's POV I looked for Olivia inside the palace, but I could not find her. I met with Gabi instead. "Gabi, have you seen Olivia?" I asked her."Yes, alpha. She's in the courtyard," she replied with a curtsey."Alright," I said and headed towards the direction of the courtyard.I got to the courtyard and I saw Olivia sitting there and enjoying the garden. I stood for a while watching her and unable to fathom why. This could probably be seen as stalking, I thought to myself and immediately cleared my throat to get her attention. She looked over at my direction and stood up quickly. "Devon, I didn't see you t

Chapter 109

Olivia's POVI read the text message my father, sent to me one more time and I heaved. He would never stop. He would never stop trying to control and manipulate me. I stood up from the bed as I tossed my phone aside. I knew better than to ignore the message he sent to me. Ignoring it was definitely worse than not going. He was cruel and devious, but he could not possibly hurt me. That was what I believed.I exhaled deeply and made up my mind to see him at the border. One thing I knew was that I must ensure that Devon has no idea that I was going to see him. He would not like the idea for sure.I walked out of my room and down the hallway. I got down the stairs and the maids were going about their activities. I slipped through the door unnoticed, I believe.I had to walk to the borders, not taking one of the cars in the palace because I did not want Devon to know of my whereabouts. It was already dark and the crescent moon was already in the sky, quite visible amidst the dark linings o

Chapter 110

Olivia's POVHis hold around my neck was so tight that I could barely breathe. I was gasping for air as I placed my feeble hands on his strong and calloused ones. Just one grip of his hand was enough to snap life out of me."You'll do as I have said or else..." he threatened and stared at me coldly as if I was never his daughter. There was no love in his eyes for me and not an iota of remorse for the horrible things he was doing to me and also making me do. With that cold glare still on his face, he pushed me back and strotted away. I staggered backwards, coughing hard as I placed my hand on my throat and heaved. The madman of a father! He almost killed me!I inhaled deeply. I had no idea what I was going to do and at this point, I regretted coming to see him just to know why he wanted me out by tonight. My curiosity got the better part Of me and now, curiosity had almost killed the cat.~~~~~~~I returned back to the palace. "Where have you been?" Devon's voice jolted me as soon as I
