Chapter Hundred and Thirty

NIA'S POV I stood there, staring and wondering what I was supposed to say to Ursula now. I was enjoying myself, well not enjoying anyway but just coping. There had been a perfect reason why I had vanished from the dining table immediately after I was done with food. I did not want to keep looking at Gloria's face and say something I was not supposed to say, and yet they came right into my room and made the milk spill anyway. Gosh! Without even being told by Ursula or having the heavy conversation I knew I was about to have with her, I knew that if I wanted this thing to work then I was going to have to apologize to Gloria anytime I saw her next. Even if I see her sucking face with Silas, it was about me admitting I was wrong and apologizing to her. And I was going to do it, even if it killed me. It took me only three to five seconds to admit it to myself, I was a lot of things but toxic and u

Chapter Hundred and Thirty-one

ELSA'S POV I hated today. Even before I opened my eyes, it reminded me of one thing. The ceremony where the man I loved was going to have to choose a woman to be his wife. I had slept by 2 AM and by 4 AM I was up. The moment I got up from my bed there was no going back for me, no extra sleep or a little bit more cuddle from the extra furred duvet. How do some people even sleep when things are extreme in their lives? It's always been a problem for me. I knocked on Nia's door, as soon as I had had my bath and brushed my teeth and of course, gotten dressed up. Nia opened the door, rubbing tiredly on his eyes. "Hi. Elsa, it's six O one, what on Earth are you doing all dressed up and ready to start a war on my door." Nia's asked, pausing and taking me in. "So, you actually can sl

Chapter Hundred and Thirty-two

ELSA'S POV "I hate your silence, Elsa. If you would call me an idiot, that would be much more acceptable." She said as I still processed. "So this explains the bags under your eyes, huh?" I asked and she nodded. This was bad. "So you think I'm an idiot? Nice one." She said with a sms smile, then continued her flossing. "I never said that." I defended out of respect, it didn't mean that I did not think it. "Well, I am good at reading minds, and the idiot was written all over your expression to me. It's okay, you can say it." She said defensively and at the same time as she believed it herself. I held my palms up and still, resisted the urge to say it. Just b

Chapter Hundred and Thirty-three

ARTHUR'S POVThe day was here. I wouldn't say finally or it would seem like I have been anticipating its arrival, trust me. I have not been. The alarm clock on the nightstand always buzzed at one specific time over the years; twenty minutes after six, reminding me that it was time I got up and continued my ruling. But today, I was up and moving before the alarm buzzed. I was anxious and couldn't sleep. And even if I was not anxious at all, the smell of gingerbread and different teas I had never tasted before diffused into the air. I believed the teas were likely reserved for important occasions like this one, I hated tea anyway.I got up, shaved in front of the bathroom mirror, and had a fast and furious shower, there was no need to have a relaxing slow bath even though I had gotten up from bed early. If my mother was around she would say I was sulking but if reacting to things you didn't want was sulking then perhaps I would change my name to sulker. Silly. There had never been soft

Chapter Hundred and Thirty-four

ELSA'S POVAfter my ridiculously long conversation with Nia that morning, I went downstairs to find Arthur and put a stop to all these already. It was stupid of me to wait for all these decorations and foods to be cooked before finally saying what everyone, well, Arthur had waited for me to say for a long time; that I was going to be his wife. That I was willing to do life with him even though it was for a very short while. Who cared? I know I didn't anymore, at least until my tummy develops a bump in the abdomen or my boobs start getting big. I could feel them swell but it was manageable and I could blame it all on the gallon of milk I kept consuming. I chuckled, now all I had to do was just find him.I got to the stairs and walked down as slowly as my anxious legs could manage. I looked down at a well-tied, black shoe and slowly looked up to find that the person that stood in front of me was Andrew. I smiled at him, not knowing what else to do. He smiled back at me. Awkwardly. Okay,

Chapter Hundred and Thirty-five

EMILY'S POVAfter having a directionless conversation with Kelly I decided it was time I got myself a glass of mojito for myself as she was not sharing hers. She still wanted me to seduce him more, maybe trying to go in naked this time but it was already decided, I was not doing that. It doesn't get to be her that tells me what to do anymore. Not when it had to do with me jeopardizing the small peace I had made with Arthur that she did not know about. He had given me eighty thousand dollars for doing nothing and told me I was allowed to stay in his big ass house. Or castle, whatever, what more could I want? I made my way to the punch table that the maids had set up for the occasion and scanned to see if I could prepare any drinks but the only thing remaining that I could prepare was scotch and I couldn't do that. The last thing I wanted was to embarrass myself. That was unacceptable. "I guess people around here like the mojitos just like I do, huh? Lucky me." I muttered under my brea

Chapter Hundred and Thirty-six

NIA'S POVI sat in the garden area waiting for Elsa to return from her search. I still had the courage and was certain nothing was wrong. Arthur was too smart and strong for thinking it was either a runaway from Elsa or a kidnap at the hands of Rogues. At the moment, I thought drinking something would be nice for me as my throat had become very dry from all the anxiety. I heard someone clear their throat behind me and turned around, it was Silas. We just stared at each other, our eyes never wavering. When I realized where we were I averted my gaze. This was no garden where we could stare at each other all day, no. This place was much, much more open with over two hundred eyes hovering about, the last thing I wanted was for someone to see us and start joining dots together or worse start following me until he or she found something to blackmail us with or print in the local news house and have my name flying at the surface of all newspaper in town.Besides, were we not even angry at

Chapter Hundred and Thirty-seven

NIA'S POVThe words left his mouth and I froze. Why the hell was he telling me that? Why was he making my life hard with this thing he was saying? I mean I was going around in my head, being all Vin Diesel about this. I was going to be okay, I was so sure that I was going to be, and yet here we sat, Nice, just nice. The silence was alarming, for me and possibly for him too. With none of us saying anything, everywhere looked and seemed somehow. Dimmed. Okay. This was blowback from my plan, I could handle it. For all I cared, things did not go so well with Gloria and him and he thought that perhaps he could come save face with me. No mister. Thinking about him and Gloria had me fuming again, that nicely nice stuff now thrown at the window. I turned to face him, this time it was my eyes that flashed. Angry and confused. What did he want from me? What did his daughter want from me?"What is it you want from me, Silas? You seem to be confused about what you want. You have been going over d

Chapter Hundred and Thirty-eight

NIA'S POVEarrings. Rubies. I gasped. It was the same earrings Gloria was wearing that night that I had complimented on. The ones I could not take my eyes off of that night. Could it be that there was more to this than I understood? There was also a paper, probably a letter or... I could not even guess what it was. I turned around to see if there was anyone looking at me. There was no one. I pulled the paper out and opened it. It read:Sometimes struggles can turn into pleasure if it's done for the person you love. I thought these earrings would look fantastic on you and as if I received a sign, I turned to steal a look at you that night and caught you staring at it. I hope you love them, Gloria thought they would be fantastic on you, I hope she's right.Wait. Gloria thought it would look fantastic on me. Did this mean that the both of them had nothing going for them except the earring talk? If this was true I would slap myself, it sounded ridiculous but I was going to do it. I immedi

Chapter Hundred and Thirty-nine

URSULA'S POVThe smile that was on my face when I saw that Nia and Gloria were talking was very big. I wore a big smile on my face because that was enough proof to know that the story I had given her had worked. I wanted this meeting to have a very successful outcome and I knew that could not happen if the two key people involved could not deal with each other, it would not be a success. It would be a big disaster and I did not want that. Now that that seemed settled, I looked around, my eyes searching for Andrew. It was a dreaded day for Arthur, for everyone, but I bet he was with him. The event had already begun and the both of them were still not seen so I could bet that some pep talks were being carried out. There were a lot of faces here, a lot of young faces eager to be the lycan king's wife if only they knew that it was no fairytale but rather it was a nightmare I would bet my ass that they would not be here right now with big smiles on their faces. My eyes caught what seemed t
