Chapter Hundred and Ten

URSULA'S POVI froze there for a while and in a manner that one might think I was dead or something. I could not deal with both of them at the same time or I would say something bad. At that moment I just prayed that Arthur could ask him to just leave and let us finish this conversation of love-filled moments. With Elsa."Well, come seat down. I had been looking for you. I think Ursula missed her calling, pretty sure she would have made a more beautiful counselor than a historian." Arthur said, smiling genuinely if I could just erase that smile long enough to ask him to leave and never return. While that sounded a tad deep, I thought it was fair. Ever since the fight between Andrew and me, we hadn't even talktalkededd I found myself most hours during the day reaching out to the phone to call him and ask how his day was going. Maybe let him know that I was outside my window, spying on him and wishing he could just come up so that we could snuggle. Or maybe tell him to stay away from Ke

Chapter Hundred and Eleven

ELSA'S POV"You said that?" I asked Nia who sat at the edge of my bed heaving and sweating. Her eyes twitched which gave me the large tidbit, if that was even a word, that she was angry."I said that and I walked out. I just couldn't stay there and get insulted by a nine-year-old. It was so annoying and I could hardly believe that it took Silas that long until she pulled up that stunt to realize it.""She is his kid, Nia. Every kid is good and worthy in their parent's eyes. You can't possibly blame him for thinking that just child had a genuine interest in you.""Well, yeah. Couldn't she just be that good and worthy continuously and not test anything on me?""She's a kid. She is gonna do kid things." Elsa said and I squinted my eyes at her. Okay, the defending thing was making me mad."Yeah, maybe she should tune down a bit. It was evening and I decided to go have dinner with her dad, she comes uninvited and still wants to make my time a living hell. How do you think it made me feel w

Chapter Hundred and Twelve

ELSA'S POV"Do I need to dress all fancy? It is just another sight-seeing on my part. I'm pretty sure a pair of jeans, shirt, and boot could cut it here." I complained, looking at myself in the mirror. While I just kept complaining, the fancy yellow sundress I had on was not that bad. It wasn't bad at all."It's kind of a formal party or whatever they do that accompanies opera singing, you are going to have to dress like someone who is in attendance with the lycan king. Nothing too casual. The last thing I want right now is pulling attention to ourselves, I already have lots of those, trust me when I say I do not need more of it." Nia said from the other side of the room. Her skit gown was beyond sophisticated and smooth. If anyone didn't know that she was the Lycan king's wife, they were going to be all eyes on her."Well, you are going to draw some attention to yourself. I mean... Did you look at yourself in the mirror? Have you seen yourself?" I said and she chuckled softly, pullin

Chapter Hundred and Thirteen

ELSA'S POVFor a few seconds, no one said anything. My heart still raced like I was some kind of thief and maybe I was. A small smile graced his features, even though from the lines on his face I could see that he was trying to hold it in. It was not a success. It was either I speak or we would stay here all night looking at each other. I briefly raced through my head, trying to find the words. I did not know what to say. Find something formal to say, mind instinct suggested. Since we were no longer on a milk-drinking basis and sharing sweet nothings on the dining table, it was going to be easy to turn all Scarlett O'Hara on him. I contemplated if bowing was too much and decided to take it out."Good evening, Arthur. I see you lost your way. This is a garden, you cannot pee here." A frown formed on his face before his brow shot up as though to ask if I was being serious, playing this game I was playing. But the problem was that he had not even seen anything yet."I followed you out h

Chapter Hundred and Fourteen

ARTHUR'S POV The moment she sat down, all I wanted to do was race to the skies and come back with gelatos. I had given myself a shot at her listening, now it was depending on if we were going anywhere after that deep confession. "I see you sat down," I said and she shrugged her shoulders. "It was the deal, was it not? You make sense, I seat down, you were making sense, so I sat down." "What now?" I asked, because after all that I still had no idea what to say. "Well, I have a few questions. In five a lo,t of questions, a ton of them and I hope that you answer them." "Of course, please ask away."

Chapter Hundred and Fifteen

ARTHUR'S POV We just stayed like that for a few seconds. Kissing. Hanging on to the moment. When we came apart for air, none of us said anything for a while. I was normally not one to get caught up in the moment and lose my tongue but this was not just any moment. It was a rare moment, one of those moments when you get to kiss that person that you love for the hundredth time and it still feels like it's your first. I continued to stare at her, searching for what to say. I was not alone apparently as she just kept on touching her lips and trying to hide a smile that was already blooming and finding its way out. "Does this mean that I am forgiven?" I finally asked. Giving myself an inward thumbs up. "If you were not forgiven, trust me when I say that you would not kiss me. I w

Chapter Hindred and Sixteen

URSULA'S POV After our night together, I fled. Avoiding anywhere and everywhere I knew he would be. I knew that I had a role to play in the misstep but I also knew that I couldn't continue slipping away and back into the situation. What if I was pregnant? What if I got pregnant for real this time? And we had not even talked about the situation at hand which was the fact that we both might have been expecting a baby together. There were so many things to talk about, so many things to consider and so many reasons to just stop this illicit romance.  I sat at the table, trying as much as possible to keep my eyes on the table and enjoy the Opera. I was not a fan of opera but at least it was loud enough to swallow my problems. I did not want my eyes to grace through the wrong eyes, not tonight. Not in public.

Chapter Hundred and Seventeen

NIA'S POV After a painful singing and rising to the octaves, it was finally over. The party was done and I could hardly wait to get to my bed and have a large amount of sleep. Maybe after a well-deserved talk with Elsa as I had seen her and Arthur seating next to each other with satisfied smiles on their faces. I had thankfully rejoiced. As I got up from my chair and headed for the door I saw Silas smiling with a single flute in his hand. But the off thing was not that he had a flute, it was actually kind of cool to see him drink champagne. He had always been a soda kind of guy. The problem with what I was looking back at was the fact that he was standing face-to-face with Gloria. Gloria, the renowned mistress of the major. The woman was known for making every member of the pack that was male look at her, with their jaws dropped. Mar

Chapter Hundred and Eighteen

ELSA'S POV "Why was your night horrible? I thought you were having die-hard fun when I saw you from where I sat with Arthur." "Well, think again. I was having nothing but fun. The singers were too loud, the whispers annoyed the hell out of me and I kept saying hello to people I don't even remember. Just to save face." Nia said and stuffed a spoonful of ice cream into her mouth. "Well, at least you..." I trailed, searching for the right words to say. Anything that would make her feel better. Her brows rose, waiting for me to say what I had in mind so that she could shut it down with a comeback. "Okay, I don't know what to say, I guess." "Yeah, right that is because I did not have any fun. I just wanted it to be over

Chapter Hundred and Nineteen

ELSA'S POV I had not slept well. I didn't even sleep at all. After my long conversation with Nia, I rushed to my room, changed into my nighties, and stared at the ceiling for so long I could outline its design on s paper without looking. So as I got up from the bed and stared at myself in the mirror, seeing that red, baggy eyes did not surprise me. It was payback for not sleeping. It was a clear sign and reminder that no one could chest nature, it just wasn't possible. I had my bath real quick, avoiding all the extra soap in the bathtub as I used the shower. As I toweled myself in front of the mirror, my eyes flew to my stomach and my hands soon followed its touch. It was weird the way that I had once cried over having this child. When the doctor told me I was pregnant I tho
