Eggshells?

Meanwhile, the young lady was on the verge of losing her conciousness. Her eyes opened and closed dreamily, unable to feel her legs and hands. Ian knew delaying any longer could cause a huge loss but he had no idea how he was supposed to carry her when her bones were broken in this manner. Feeling a tap on his shoulder, Ian jolted and lifelessly turned to look at who was that.He met eyes with that of Altair who didn't look surprised with the whole situation. Rather, there was something in his eyes that piqued Ian's curiousity the more he stared at him. "Don't worry, she'll rearrange her bones by herself now. You don't have to look so miserable," He comforted, his hand placed on Ian's shoulder while the latter nodded emotionlessly. He felt like Altair was speaking a different language but being in no mood to find out, he could only nod, pretending to understand, while his thoughts were far from understanding. He was so lost in thought and didn't feel warm fingers touch his hand and

Her death...

Seconds felt like minutes, minutes felt like hours and hours felt like days. Alasdair was on the verge of losing his sanity right in front of the O.R where the light inside was glaring red. He had never hated the color red so much in his life than he did now. For the hundredth time, the nurses around watched him run his fingers through his hair. He was trying so hard to remain sane and if Melissa was not dead, he'd have killed her again and again. The thought of what she did and what was explained to him made his blood boil in anger. As the nurses stared at their pacing Alpha, they knew in the span of few hours he had been walking, he'd have shot thousands of photos for women to drool over.Alasdair's legs and hands were itching to take action. He was currently trying so hard to act calm but he couldn't, not when he heard about how Joanna's body was bent around.Hours later, when it was almost midnight, the red light went off and Ian walked out like a man who had just passed through

Agony

note: I apologise for this chapter being short and also the others. Please bear with me.If anyone ever told Alasdair that there'd be a day when he'd be on his knees, crying his eyes out like a baby, he'd have gotten into a fight with the person but then, reality proved to be more of a betrayer. Tears continued to fall down his eyes. The young man was trying so hard to act rational but it felt like he no longer had the sense to do so.What was life without her? The thought of going back to how he once was before she came into his life frightened him. In the past, his life was boring. He couldn't tell whether it was day or night but the moment she stepped into his world, he was able the differentiate this. With his knees shaking, Alasdair tried to think of the good memories he had so as to surpress his rage but they weren't helping. It felt like his soul had left his body. Was he also gone? Because everything definitely felt like a dream.

Too late?

Could he go back in time to save her? He cried out loudly, throwing his image aside, hoping the moon goddess would have mercy on him and make him go back in time. What was life without her? Alasdair didn't wish to know that. With shaky legs, he rose to his feet and walked towards the opened ward.Stepping into the ward that felt serene, tears sprung from deep within him and he tried all his possible best to hold them back. He wobbly walked towards where she laid and stared at her, not taking his eyes off her lifeless figure. Why had she gone so soon? Why had she left him this early and then what? She asked him to take care of the little one?Alasdair bit his lip to control his sobs. His intentions were unknown as he continued to stare at her, seeming as if he wanted to embed each and every one of her features into his head. Why was life so cruel to him."Oh my goodness!" Helen's loud gasp further heightened his pending anger. For no reason, her voice alone seemed to sprout an anger

The baby

Amongst the triplets, the most anxious was none other than Aric who looked like he was on the verge of peeing his pants. "Calm down. She isn't running away," Altair mumbled, rubbing his hand on his forehead tiredly. He looked worn out and if one didn't know better, they'd have thought he had been cutting wood.As expected, no matter what the situation was, Aaryan's expression was one that'd forever remain stoic. He had no change in expression despite the fact that his brothers were getting worried for good reasons. Hurried footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs. They all turned their heads to stare at Micah who was in nothing but loose pants. He was looking like a homeless man who was few seconds away from being buried."Why the hurry?" Surprisingly, it was Aaryan who spoke up. He still had the same cold expression on his face but those who had known him right from time could tell the slight change in his tone.Aric quirked an eyebrow and stared at Micah before turning to

"Hey baby"

"Hey baby"If anyone told Ian that those were the words that'd make him drop a baby as a doctor, he'd have denied it but reality proved surprising than it seemed.Standing at the entrance of the ward with the door still open was Joanna or Joanna's ghost as Ian thought. He couldn't fathom what was going on. His hands automatically went stiff while he stared at the woman ahead in surprise and shock. Was he dreaming? Had he also gone to heaven? Ian was yet to realize he had dropped the little boy who surprisingly was calm, like he had faith in his mother who was close by.Just as he did have faith in her, blue flames wrapped around him just before he hit the floor.

"Who are you?"

Just as he did have faith in her, blue flames wrapped around him just before he hit the floor. A loud giggle erupted from his lips and that was enough to snap Ian back to reality. He stared dimdumbfoundedly at the sights before him. One was seeing a baby wrapped in blue flame and the other was seeing someone whom he pronounced dead, alive and kicking again. If anyone were to tell him that he'd one day witness this, Ian would have argued ten times and over but seeing it himself, he was just too short of words."Who are you?" were the words that left his lips.

overreacting?

Ian sounded so stupid at the moment that if Joanna wasn't so focused on her baby, she'd have burst into an epic laughter. She could only hold back her giggle as she focused on holding her baby. The little boy had no worries as he continued to giggle happily. It was the loud banging of footsteps on the floor that finally drew Ian back to reality. Not that he wasn't present but the shock of seeing Joanna and her baby in action could make a deaf man ear. It wasn't the fact that he was overreacting but the fact that he thought he was starting to go insane.

The plan 1

Seeing Alasdair and Micah run towards her like headless chickens, Ian concluded that he wasn't going insane and was pretty normal."You...!" These left Micah's lips who is known to be a root. This short word left his lips wobbly. He was no longer in a trance since he was happy that not he alone had gone insane. It was satisfactory seeing others behaving like him and Ian couldn't be more happier."What in the world is going on?" Alasdair finally broke the record. His question was not only appreciated by Ian but by Micah who looked like he'd pass out anytime soon. "Hey guys"Rather than answering their questions, Joanna greeted and Micah almost passed out then and there due to frustration. The more Alasdair looked at Joanna, the more he felt like something was familiar about her. He followed the direction of her fingers and stared fixatedly at the blue flames she was controlling that had now wrapped around her baby.Few minutes later, the look of realization crossed his face and he now
