BOOK 2 - Chapter 1

Paige's POVI was alone in the dungeons right after Crystina was taken away. Tears rolled down my face as I clamped my hands together. Anxiety rolled through me and crashed down in my throat. I bit down on my lips, stopping myself from crying but it wasn't possible. I couldn't handle my emotions anymore. I opened my mouth and the wails that I'd kept hidden surged out of me.I held on to the railing of the cell room where I was kept and I began crying. I wanted to go with Crystina as they carried her out but it wasn't possible. They didn't let me go with her. They said it was better if I stayed behind rather than follow her. They think I would run away, escape while they try to save her but they were wrong, where am I even supposed to run to? Plan to escape didn't even run through my mind for the several hours that I'd been here with Crystina. That was because my mind, and my brain weren't functioning well.I'm not the usual weakling, I'd never had to bow to anybody because my father wa

Book 2 - Chapter 2

PAIGE’S POVHours after I entered the truck of the car, I heard Alpha Luka's voice. I took a deep breath and was so close to tears because finally, I was going home. There was no way I could open the trunk from inside so I waited for someone to do the job. It wasn't hot inside because of some space inside it. That made it easier for me to breathe. I knew someone would soon pick up my scent and open the trunk, so why kick? The vehicle suddenly started moving, I peeked out through one of the holes and I saw several feet moving into some other trucks there so I was glad. We were going home, finally, I would see my parents. Thanks to my petite stature, I fitted just right in the truth. I didn't have to worry about my head or my legs. I sat still waiting. It shouldn't take more than three hours for us to get to our pack right? It took more than three hours this time. I was already uncomfortable and finding it hard to breathe but I sat still, knowing there was nothing I could do.When the v

Book 2 - Chapter 3

Gabriel's POV"Commander, there's some sort of emergency," I was about to take a bath when Azel came with his sudden announcement. I growled at him. Not now, I was about to wash the blood of my enemies off my skin. I'd recorded victory today, now it's time for me to rest before people come for me for getting my father killed and Draenei as well. I needed that one break between war and conflicts."What sort of emergency is it?""...There was a girl hiding behind one of our trunks, she must have followed us from Draenei territory and she said she's from Alpha Luka's pack. I guess she was kidnapped with their Luna," His voice was shaking.Azel might be the scariest looking guy you have ever met in your entire life but in the real sense, he's the softest at heart. He's a big guy, almost twice my size and that gave his enemies heart attacks even before they attack but one thing is, he doesn't have the heart to take a bad situation. Training him was hard but worth it in the end. "Are you

BOOK 2 - Chapter 4

Crystina's POVSamer and Paige are missing! We returned to the pack two hours ago after searching for both Paige and Samer for two straight hours. When everyone got tired of looking around Draenei territory and how it was getting darker we decided to leave for another day. Luka was of the opinion that they were together or maybe they were already in the pack while we searched so we left.On getting to the pack, we were welcomed by almost everyone. They all wanted to hear about what happened but Luka dismissed the entire excitement and told them he would give feedback by morning. I was even too tired to put a smile on my face for more than five minutes. I said hello to ma'am Syd and Mrs… they were really excited to see me and I could see the tears glistening in their eyes. On getting out of the car and seeing eyes on Paige's parents, I knew something was wrong. They first looked at me with so much hope, but when they realized Paige wasn't with me, her mother broke into tears. What am

BOOK 2 - Chapter 5

Paige's POV"Don't touch me, please don't touch me," I crumbled to the ground as the memories of that night plagued me. Tears fell freely from my face and I felt a heavy lump in my throat. I wanted to throw up and at the same time, I wanted to wail but I couldn't. I kept on seeing myself in that room and that killed every strength in me. I was shivering and it wasn't because it was cold, it was because I was scared. When my mate walked in and he spoke to me, I felt a little bit comfortable but when he yelled at the two people here to leave, my breathing became hitched at that moment. I got scared for a minute and when he attempted to touch me, I lost it. "Fine, I won't touch you but please, let me take a look at your arm," I raised my head from the floor and stared at him. Our eyes met once again and I felt that warmth in my belly. It was strange. I'd had my fair share of lovers in the past but this feeling was different. It wasn't normal! Is this because of the mate bond? "I won't

Book 2 - Chapter 6

Paige's POV "Glyds, she's sick," Alex frowned, the space between her eyebrows creasing together as she took in my words. They would be the first set of people who knew about this after my parents. Not even Crystina knew about that fact. Because of the state of my wolf, I never thought I could have a mate. I thought it would be useless having hope that I would really have one so the thoughts never crossed my mind."Since when?" I shrugged. Does it matter? All that matters is the fact that Glyds is sick and nothing can heal her. My parents had tried everything they could but nothing worked. It was too late for her and I had to live that way."Is that why I couldn't feel your wolf earlier?" Gabriel asked. All eyes landed on him as soon as the question flew out of his mouth. Was he trying to announce that we were mates? Still, I hummed, not particularly giving him an answer. It's still a miracle that I can recognize him as my mate and he also recognized me as his mate. The problem now

Book 2 - Chapter 7

Crystina's POVThe sun streamed in through the window, changing the brightness of the room. The early spring wind blows in, making the curtains dance at a spot. The cold breeze kissed my skin and I pulled the covers over my face. I didn't sleep a wink last night. I'd pretended to be asleep just to not get Luka worried but at the end of the day, he noticed that I wasn't sleeping and he cuddled me into his large form while I shed those tears again. I lost my baby, my best friend is missing and nightmares had evaded my dreams. After I told Luka about the loss of our baby, he didn't say a word about it after that. He told me it was fine, he apologized for not protecting me and our baby. His guilt washed over him while I danced in the arms of my pain. We held each other for over an hour in the bathtub, repelling our loss. I was ready to sacrifice the world for my child but all I have left is a stomach void of that same child. I feel I'm a terrible mother. Luka told me not to beat myself

Book 2 - Chapter 8

Luka's POV Crystina was excited about seeing Paige. She didn't stop talking about it for several hours and when she insisted on speaking with her, Gabriel told her Paige was resting. Crystina only believed Gabriel's words after he sent her a picture of Paige at his pack’s hospital. That only made the situation worse because Crystina started crying after she saw Paige in that condition. Gabriel had to assure her that Paige was fine and that calmed Crystina down. She began smiling again and I couldn't help the smile that lingered on my face. She kept on talking about it and we decided to pick Paige up in two days. Around four in the evening, we left the apartment. I was to address the Elders and important people in the pack about the recent development while Crystina will share the good news with Paige’s parents. As we walked into the hall, several unexpected people were waiting. I don't know how the small meeting hall could take so many of them in such an orderly manner but it gave m

Book 2 - Chapter 9

Paige's POVMy eyelids fluttered open and I took a deep breath. I just had another horrible nightmare and this time, I was being pulled apart by a vampire. My night had been filled with a series of horrid and terrible nightmares but each time I woke up, the injection I was given takes me back to slumberland and dropped me in the midst of another nightmare. It was a fucking cycle that I prayed would stop but I was too sleepy to even fight sleep and stay awake. At some point, I felt a presence around me and I was able to sleep without any nightmares until the last one I had just now before I woke up.I closed my eyes and opened them again when I realized the effect of the drugs had worn off and I was indeed awake finally without having to go back to sleep. I sat up on the hospital bed and the first thing I saw was Azel sleeping on a couch. It was almost as if Azel was sitting on nothing because the poor couch was invisible from bearing Azel's weight. I feel pity for that couch. Azel's

Book 2 - Chapter 10

Paige's POV"Luka and Crystina are on their way," He announced. "What?" I asked in disbelief.I shifted closer to him with a huge smile on my face. His back was still turned to me as he focused his attention on the meal. He was as tall as Azel but not as big as him. They both are standing at six or seven feet while the five feet plus ten inches me look up at him. My height stopped at his chest and I guess that could still be considered tall enough, right? "I called them yesterday while you were at the hospital and they told me they’ll be coming today," He finally turned to face me. That was when I was able to see his total appearance in broad daylight. That was also the first time I noticed his beautiful eyes. One eye was ocean blue while the other was light green. His eyes are so beautiful and I could keep looking for eternity. His dark blonde hair was sleeked back while some strands were standing on his face separately. His plump lips fitted just right with his perfectly shaped
