Chapter Thirty-One

Elora’s POVI ran toward the woods. I sprinted like there was no tomorrow because I knew that my life depends on it. I dashed through the wind wanting to get out of that place as soon as possible. I was sure that Ashley’s mate, in his wolf form, was hunting me like a hungry predator. His scent was shouting danger making my body tense with fear. I moved my legs faster and I almost didn’t feel the ground brushing against my skin. My chest constricted with the lack of air, making it difficult for me to huff and puff. ‘Hurry, Elora! They will soon catch up on us!’I wanted to spank Arwen for yelling those words inside my head. At this point, her anxiousness was not helping at all. But somehow, I understood. We both knew that once these wolves got their hands on us, we would be dead before sunrise. I was in this position many times. I was never a stranger to people who wanted to kill me. And yet, the fear surfacing around me still has the same intensity. ‘I gotta get out of here. I mu

Chapter Thirty-Two

Dominic’s POV What could be a better way to forget the matters of the heart than burying yourself in mountains of paperwork? This was one of the many times I was glad to be the Alpha King. If things hadn’t turned south, I might have been in bed and lying next to Elora after her unexpected return from Moon River Pack. She might have moved out of the omega quarters and moved in with me. We might have come to terms with our mateship and probably planned our impending marriage. However, the goddess of the moon had other plans. Instead, I was stuck here in my office disconnecting myself from the world while trying to figure out how I could get the hell out of this situation. The torment I saw on Elora the first time she heard about Ashley’s pregnancy lingered in my memory. I saw how her world fell apart. She was beyond devastated. I felt sorry that I put her in that situation. Seeing her in complete misery put a million daggers inside my chest. I vowed to myself that I would never all

Chapter Thirty-Three

Dominic's POV “Any news about her?” Oliver, the tracker leader assigned to look for Elora, bowed his head. I could see him playing with his fingers while finding the right words to say. “I am sorry, my king, but there was none,” he said in shame. I nodded while heaving a sigh. I couldn’t blame him for feeling like that. Oliver was the best tracker in the Royal Pack but even he and his team couldn’t figure out where Elora was. “Keep searching, I want to see her body even if she’s…dead…” “Will do, your grace,” he said. He bowed his head one last time before dismissing himself. As soon as I was left alone, I took out the bottle of vodka from the drawer and pour myself a glass. It has been three days since Elora disappeared from that cliff and until now, I haven’t heard anything from her. Everyone thought that she was dead, while some were having ridiculous conspiracy theories that she ran away to live as a rogue once again. I held the glass tightly, feeling frustrated with the

Chapter Thirty-Four

Elora’s POV I woke up to the pungent smell of what seemed to be a herbal medicine invading my nostrils. The room was silent apart from my heavy breathing. I slowly got up and lifted my eyelids. I squinted in an attempt to sharpen the blurry image surrounding me. However, a sharp pain stung my eyeballs as soon as the light hit them. It felt as if my whole eyeballs were dried up. It gave me some discomfort making me blink a couple of times in an attempt to wet it with my tears. Unfortunately, it didn’t help so I ended up rubbing them. That was when I noticed that no matter what I do, my vision didn’t seem to enhance at all. “Woah, take it easy.” I heard a man’s voice from the side. He took off my hands from my eyes which made me flinch. The man might have noticed my reaction. Although his voice seemed familiar, I didn't know who he was. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you,” he said. “Just please, do not touch your eyes while they were still recovering. You might remove the m

Chapter Thirty-Five

Elora’s POV“If you guys are done talking, may I come in?” “Of course, buddy. You don’t need to ask.”Fritz stood up and welcomed the visitor. I could sense that the two of them were really close. I smiled thinking about this. Another thing to be thankful for was knowing that Fritz, not only gained a loving home in this pack but also had some good friends he could count on. The two of them inched nearer, to where I would have a closer look at the mysterious visitor despite having a very limited vision. Fritz sat beside me and held my hands. “Samuel, I’d like you to meet my sister, Elora.”“Hi, Elora. My name is Samuel Miller.” The silhouette of his arm stretched toward me. I looked at Fritz who helped me and shook his hand. “It’s my pleasure to meet such a beautiful she-wolf as you. My cheeks heated up with his compliment. “Elora Knightlock. Nice to meet you too, Samuel,” I answered sheepishly. And then, I took back my hand and paused for a while before speaking again.“I want to

Chapter Thirty-Six

Dominic’s POV It had been two weeks since Elora disappeared without a trace. And until now, I haven’t received any news about her. As the days went by, life was slowly drifting away from me. I couldn’t eat, couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t even focus on my duties as the Alpha King. In times like this, I was thankful for my Beta, Hunter. He was such a reliable second-in-command that I didn’t have to worry much about the welfare of the Royal Pack while I was dealing with Elora’s disappearance. But apart from these, I also have to juggle my mother and Ashley’s pressure toward marriage. Mom constantly convinced me to shift my attention to Ashley and persuaded me to give up searching for my mate. But I couldn’t do just that. In my heart, I knew that she was still alive. As long as I didn’t see her dead body, I would cling to the hope that I would still find her breathing. I closed my eyes, remembering her face and feisty attitude. The act made me chuckle, as the vivid memory of our first en

Chapter Thirty-Seven

Elora’s POV Today was a very special day. After days of isolation inside my room in the infirmary, the pack doctor already cleared me for discharge. Though my wounds were not healed a hundred percent, my body could already endure sparring and training sessions. Hence, I was ready to join Samuel and the rest of his men in training. I was looking forward to this day. In my mind, this would be the first step in making myself stronger, which would make me a suitable Luna of the Royal Pack. I chose to wear a black sports bra and tight leggings accentuating my body curves. I braided my hair in a long simple braid and did some stretching. I made sure that my body would not hurt this much after this today’s task, and it was also for avoiding other external injuries I might get from it later. Better to be prepared than sorry. I was grinning the whole time as I marched toward the training ground. As expected, the place was already filled with warriors, men and women alike. Some of them alrea

Chapter Thirty-Eight

Elora’s POVIf not for the man standing in front of me, I would easily have mistaken this pack to be the place of my birth. The feeling was so homey that I forgot that I was only here temporarily. This pack has been my home for a month now. I knew every mile-high peak and heavy boulder within the area, thanks to my constant stroll with my brother and his mate. The cascading waterfall and heavily forested slopes were the ultimate addition to this ten-thousand-acre paradise, which was a great way to enhance my running and hunting skills. Adding to Jenna’s training expertise in hand-to-hand combat, I was really enjoying my time here. “You really surprised us with your fighting skills, Elora. I mean, look at you now. You’ve come a long way,” Fritz exclaimed. He clapped his hands with so much pride after I defeated his mate Jenna in sparring for the first time. “Your lady here was a great teacher. I owed everything I learned from her,” I answered back while looking at Jenna with gratitud

Chapter Thirty-Nine

Dominic’s POV“How was your trip?”Hunter looked at me with an apologetic look. At that moment, I almost knew what answer would come out of his mouth,“I am sorry, Dominic, but they know nothing.”I took a breath full of disappointment and leaned my body on the backrest of my seat. We’ve searched every nearby pack along the region in hope of finding Elora but the results were futile. Nobody had seen her. The last pack that we’ve been to, the Raven Pack, killed every ounce of hope we had in finding my mate when they said they knew nothing.I was tired of hearing the same thing all over again but I couldn’t stop now. I had to find Elora. I needed her by my side.“By the way, I received some reports from the trackers assigned in distributing the wedding invitations. All of the packs on the list accepted the invite, including the Wild Pack of the West.”I looked at Hunter, amused by what I heard. “You mean the elusive Jackstone Pack?”“You got it right,” Hunter said, nodding. “I, too, was

Chapter Forty

Dominic’s POVI found myself gazing outside my window observing the omegas who were busy decorating the packhouse. I took a deep breath. This was really happening. Everything was set. The venue was ready. As customary to a werewolf wedding, everything would happen under the light of a full moon. The string of lights hanging on some make-shift lamp posts made it look like tiny stars that went down to the ground to give us some light. I’d say the team responsible for the wedding decoration, under Hunter’s supervision, really did a great job. The omegas who took care of the reception made a good job of taking full advantage of the natural splendor surrounding us. The sans tablecloths, the bare wood, and the vases of lush eucalyptus perfectly blend with the scenery, practically growing to the surrounding nature of the Royal Pack. After all, it was the wedding of the Alpha King of the continent. Extravagant should be an understatement, right? Potted flowerless plants mimic the shrubbe
