"You're not safe with me April," He said, trying to leave but I blocked his way. "I'm pretty much safe with my mate," I said calmly and he shook his head looking conflicted. It was obvious he didn't want to leave me alone but at the same time, he couldn't compromise my safety by staying with me. "I can't, April. It kills me to know I'm the one who hurt you," He said, staring at my lips and I leaped forward and hugged him tightly. He froze and didn't attempt to hug me back. His muscles were tense, but I didn't let go. "Please, hug me back," I murmured almost brokenly and his arms instantly wrapped around me as he engulfed me in a tight hug. I was on my toes as he dipped his head in the crook of my neck and inhaled my scent deeply to calm down. We parted and I grabbed his hand as we got on the bed.
