Chapter 61: Another Good Day

ERIKA'S POV "Another good day," I yawned as I woke up from sleep. The sun had already risen, and the atmosphere was quiet. From the window of my room, I could hear the sound of the waterfall flowing, the droplets hitting stones as they fell splashing into pieces. The peaceful atmosphere of the soul-peering waterfall. I sat up on the bed and yanked my duvet off me. A quick stretch of my bones and then I jumped down from the bed. According to one of the Menelie, one of the waterfall's guardians whom we had seen the previous day, I'd be going around to explore everywhere today. A smile curved up my lips. Thank goodness I had learned to control my wolf. Who knows how miserable I would've been right now, staying at Killian's house? My lounge was a simple cabin, made of wood. There was a small mattress and a soft pillow in it. The door was a slidable one. I turned around immediately I heard the sound of something perching on my window. A little bird had just landed there. I came clo

Chapter 62: Welcome Home

ERIKA'S POV I woke up to Aria's song very early the next morning. Following the tones of the beautiful harmony, I strolled out to the corridor which was still dim. She was downstairs by the waterside picking pebbles again. But wasn't that too early for such? I climbed down the stairs and went to meet her. "Being able to hear my songs makes you special, Erika," she said. "I saw you playing your song in my dream and I woke up to see you doing exactly that," I said. "Come here," she said, inviting me to squat near her cause I was standing. Immediately I squatted beside her, she turned around and gave me a kiss on my forehead. Immediately, I felt something like a burn in my stomach. "What was that for?" I asked, falling back. "It's my way of showing you that I'm comfortable with you around me," she said, wiping her lips. Immediately the back of her palm swept past her lips, I saw something like a scald, but it disappeared quickly, leaving me to feel like I had just hallucinated.

Chapter 63: Get Inside

ERIKA'S POV Killian and I were together in bed that night after we had finished mating and satisfying the sexual urges of our wolves. But I couldn't just get to sleep that, and I was pretty sure he was in that same condition. A feeling of nervousness suddenly sprang up within me. How could I be nervous about what I had wanted for so long? He curled his arms around my waist as I laid back on him. His warm breath was so close to my nape that my skin absorbed all of its moisture. From time to time he slid his hands under the nylon fabric of my nighty, and gently suited my tummy with soft strokes from his palms. That helped me ease the pain from the sex we had cause taking in that huge learned had felt like being disvirgined again. But I could tell he had sensed all the nervousness racking up within me for the next day, and the soft strokes he gave my belly also felt like it was just him trying to make my mind feel free. It was past an hour now since we had been laying together on the

Chapter 64: Introduction

ERIKA’S POV Miss Loy's voice woke me the next morning as she called me to come to join them downstairs for breakfast. Sitting up on the bed, I wiped some traces of tears off my cheeks. I had been crying all night. I couldn't find my toothbrush, so I decided to go eat before brushing. Moreover, I loved doing that most of the time. Following the rants of the other student wolves arguing while eating, I was able to figure out the direction to the dining table. Immediately I got to the table, everyone became quiet all of a sudden. None of them, except Stacey, had seen me the previous night. Miss Loy took a sip of hot tea from her cup as I absorbed the curious stares from the other student wolves, waiting for her to introduce me to them. She dropped her cup and flashed an unwelcoming gaze at me. "Won't you introduce yourself?" She asked me. Her words came like a lightning shock to me. I lowered my head slightly and took in a shallow breath and then exhaled. Finally, I spoke up. "

Chapter 65: Cut that Crap!

ERIKA’s POV Monday came and I walked to school with the rest of the student wolves. While in the bus, some other students kept staring at me like I was a stranger they'd never seen before. But with Stacey and Benita by my side, I wasn't fazed by their stares. We got off the bus immediately after it came to a stop before the school entrance. My uniform was a perfect pink collared shirt and a striped brown and white skirt. With the newly sewn material still smooth and plain, I attracted all eyes to myself. My legs became all wobbly and I felt like sinking into the earth as I walked. "C'mon girl," Stacey patted me on the back, winking at me, "you've got this." "This is the department of fashion and beauty," Stacey said to me as we got to the door of a class that happened to be so quiet compared to the previous classes which had been filled with noise. "It seems their lecturer is inside already," Benita said to me. Stacey patted me on the back, "go in, girl. Your big day is here."

Chapter 66: Friday

ERIKA’s POV The week went by with Charles and I growing fond of each other. Though he still didn't speak much, we could stay together for hours like that; with him playing a game while I read a novel or did something else. His presence was assuring and I liked it. I could tell he also found me interesting and enjoyed my company too. On Thursday when Rita told me about the swimming classes that are held on Saturdays only, I was looking forward to joining. I thought hyping things up was her superpower. She wasn't any ordinary girl. She told me how much I needed to pay to join the swimming classes, and luckily for me, that was just change for me. I rummaged through my purse for a second before heading off to the swimming pool to meet the swimming coach who was always by the pool. "Young miss," he smiled at me. "Do you really want to become one with the water — a fish?" "I haven't ever had the chance to swim. And it's something I always wanted to learn," I said to him. "I appreciate

Chapter 67: Tonight

KILLIAN'S POV "How is Erika doing?" "She's doing fine. In her room right now. I can call her if you want to speak to her." "No, don't worry. Just tell her that I'm doing fine over here and her friend Sandra misses her a lot." "Okay. I will." I hung up the call right after speaking with Miss Loy. A sigh fled my mouth. I ran my hand through my hair. How long had it been without her? How long have I stayed without my mate? I was missing Erika a lot. Each time I saw Ciro and Sandra going out together and having fun, I kept wondering when Erika would come back on her first break. Was it a month from now? Perhaps, two? One mistake I made was not taking a copy of their school calendar with me. Going back there was a hassle for me as everyone in the pack had been occupied over the past week with the task of expanding our landmass. Despite her absence being a distraction to me, I made sure to focus when there was a task at hand. I had a bottle of vodka on my table, which I sipped as I w

Chapter 68: Desire

ERIKA'S POV My eyes flickered through the number of people walking about the hotel as I wondered why Loy would think I didn't know why she had brought me to a hotel with a new dress. He'd be here anytime soon. "What are you looking for?" Miss Loy frowned at me. "Compose yourself. The human world works differently from the supernatural. You could arise suspicions toward you." A tiny smile curved on my lips as I nodded an "okay". But the air had suddenly turned to a nostalgic aura and I found myself breathing all of it in. That scent happened to rouse my emotions, like several threads of connection were floating all around me. I knew it was none other than my alpha. None other than Killian's. Despite his expensive cologne, it was a piece of cake for me to pick up the scent of his skin, which mine had collided bare with mine countless times. "Killian!" I shuddered in excitement as I turned around and rushed in his direction. Seeing me running toward him, he spread his arms out for a

Chapter 69: The North

KILLIAN'S POV Three months later... "We've finished cleaning the insides of the house, alpha Killian. Is there anything else we should do?" Damian, Trevor's younger brother came asking me while I was discussing with Trevor. Trevor and I were before Elder Paul's house. He had sent a message the previous day that he'd be running that day. So, I called on Trevor's younger brother and his friends to clean up the house. "You guys can go meet Lerah for something to eat, as long as you're sure you've cleaned it to my taste," I said to them. Damian went back into the house and when they were done, he ran off with his friends to my house to eat in my kitchen. "This is like one of the longest trips elder Paul has ever embarked on," Ciro remarked. "Yes. But I appreciate it that whenever he's on a trip, it's for the benefit of the pack and not just for his personal needs," I said. "Yeah. That's the spirit of a good leader," Ciro agreed. Whenever we talked about the good qualities of elder

Chapter 70: Bloodline

KILLIAN'S POV My uncle had arrived earlier than I had expected. I picked up his scent immediately after I stepped into the pack. But first, I had to go see Ciro. "Ciro! Ciro!" I banged on his door, forgetting if there was something such as a mind link. He came rushing out to open the door. The metal joint of the door made a creaking sound as he opened it and peeped out, "what's up, dude?" He looked baffled. "We need to talk," I said, pushing past him and walking in. "Hmmm... That's why you came banging like the whole world was running away or something?" he said. "Are you trying to scare the shit out of me?" Not a way to talk to his alpha, but he was my closest friend. Even being addressed with the term "alpha" coming from him felt awkward to me. "This is more serious than you could ever imagine, Ciro," I told him, running a hand through my hair as I sat down. "Tell me, what's up," he demanded, sitting on the table and folding his arms. "Dude, I went to Cosmos' to chill with
