ERIKA’s POV Monday came and I walked to school with the rest of the student wolves. While in the bus, some other students kept staring at me like I was a stranger they'd never seen before. But with Stacey and Benita by my side, I wasn't fazed by their stares. We got off the bus immediately after it came to a stop before the school entrance. My uniform was a perfect pink collared shirt and a striped brown and white skirt. With the newly sewn material still smooth and plain, I attracted all eyes to myself. My legs became all wobbly and I felt like sinking into the earth as I walked. "C'mon girl," Stacey patted me on the back, winking at me, "you've got this." "This is the department of fashion and beauty," Stacey said to me as we got to the door of a class that happened to be so quiet compared to the previous classes which had been filled with noise. "It seems their lecturer is inside already," Benita said to me. Stacey patted me on the back, "go in, girl. Your big day is here."
ERIKA’s POV The week went by with Charles and I growing fond of each other. Though he still didn't speak much, we could stay together for hours like that; with him playing a game while I read a novel or did something else. His presence was assuring and I liked it. I could tell he also found me interesting and enjoyed my company too. On Thursday when Rita told me about the swimming classes that are held on Saturdays only, I was looking forward to joining. I thought hyping things up was her superpower. She wasn't any ordinary girl. She told me how much I needed to pay to join the swimming classes, and luckily for me, that was just change for me. I rummaged through my purse for a second before heading off to the swimming pool to meet the swimming coach who was always by the pool. "Young miss," he smiled at me. "Do you really want to become one with the water — a fish?" "I haven't ever had the chance to swim. And it's something I always wanted to learn," I said to him. "I appreciate
KILLIAN'S POV "How is Erika doing?" "She's doing fine. In her room right now. I can call her if you want to speak to her." "No, don't worry. Just tell her that I'm doing fine over here and her friend Sandra misses her a lot." "Okay. I will." I hung up the call right after speaking with Miss Loy. A sigh fled my mouth. I ran my hand through my hair. How long had it been without her? How long have I stayed without my mate? I was missing Erika a lot. Each time I saw Ciro and Sandra going out together and having fun, I kept wondering when Erika would come back on her first break. Was it a month from now? Perhaps, two? One mistake I made was not taking a copy of their school calendar with me. Going back there was a hassle for me as everyone in the pack had been occupied over the past week with the task of expanding our landmass. Despite her absence being a distraction to me, I made sure to focus when there was a task at hand. I had a bottle of vodka on my table, which I sipped as I w
ERIKA'S POV My eyes flickered through the number of people walking about the hotel as I wondered why Loy would think I didn't know why she had brought me to a hotel with a new dress. He'd be here anytime soon. "What are you looking for?" Miss Loy frowned at me. "Compose yourself. The human world works differently from the supernatural. You could arise suspicions toward you." A tiny smile curved on my lips as I nodded an "okay". But the air had suddenly turned to a nostalgic aura and I found myself breathing all of it in. That scent happened to rouse my emotions, like several threads of connection were floating all around me. I knew it was none other than my alpha. None other than Killian's. Despite his expensive cologne, it was a piece of cake for me to pick up the scent of his skin, which mine had collided bare with mine countless times. "Killian!" I shuddered in excitement as I turned around and rushed in his direction. Seeing me running toward him, he spread his arms out for a
KILLIAN'S POV Three months later... "We've finished cleaning the insides of the house, alpha Killian. Is there anything else we should do?" Damian, Trevor's younger brother came asking me while I was discussing with Trevor. Trevor and I were before Elder Paul's house. He had sent a message the previous day that he'd be running that day. So, I called on Trevor's younger brother and his friends to clean up the house. "You guys can go meet Lerah for something to eat, as long as you're sure you've cleaned it to my taste," I said to them. Damian went back into the house and when they were done, he ran off with his friends to my house to eat in my kitchen. "This is like one of the longest trips elder Paul has ever embarked on," Ciro remarked. "Yes. But I appreciate it that whenever he's on a trip, it's for the benefit of the pack and not just for his personal needs," I said. "Yeah. That's the spirit of a good leader," Ciro agreed. Whenever we talked about the good qualities of elder
KILLIAN'S POV My uncle had arrived earlier than I had expected. I picked up his scent immediately after I stepped into the pack. But first, I had to go see Ciro. "Ciro! Ciro!" I banged on his door, forgetting if there was something such as a mind link. He came rushing out to open the door. The metal joint of the door made a creaking sound as he opened it and peeped out, "what's up, dude?" He looked baffled. "We need to talk," I said, pushing past him and walking in. "Hmmm... That's why you came banging like the whole world was running away or something?" he said. "Are you trying to scare the shit out of me?" Not a way to talk to his alpha, but he was my closest friend. Even being addressed with the term "alpha" coming from him felt awkward to me. "This is more serious than you could ever imagine, Ciro," I told him, running a hand through my hair as I sat down. "Tell me, what's up," he demanded, sitting on the table and folding his arms. "Dude, I went to Cosmos' to chill with
ERIKA'S POV "Erika, could you help me with this last assignment question?" Vanessa crept up from behind me, laying her notebook on my desk. My cheeks reddened with a blush. From being the newest student in class, now I was a hot cake. "Yes. Sure. Bring your seat over here," I said. I noticed Rita flash a grim glare at me from her desk. I turned my eyes away from her immediately and carefully explained the solution to that last question to Vanessa. "Wow. You're a genius! Thank you so much!" she said, dancing back to her seat with her notebook— not so typical of her. When it was time to go, Charles and I left the class together as usual. But I wasn't headed for Stacey's class just yet. I made a new friend the previous week at the swimming class. Her name was Milca— the best female swimmer in school. Having grown up in a pack of wolves who lived by the banks of a river, she learned how to swim excellently. She was also one of the best singers in the school and attended music class
KILLIAN'S POV It snowed as elder Paul and I went through the woods of the Himeria river. Headed for the coven of the witches of the oak hill, he tried convincing me to keep up with the journey on which I had halfheartedly agreed to join him. "It's the witches who know more about this supernatural world than us," Elder Paul said as a snow-covered twig broke under his foot when he stepped over it. "You know I'm the type of person who has always despised the witches from day one, uncle," I said. "In as much as we could need them, I do my best to avoid anything that will lead to me seeking their help." "But at this desperate time, you're willing to put your ego aside, aren't you? You're scared, aren't you?" "I'm not scared, uncle. I'm only curious and I seek answers to what I can't fathom," I pointed out, frost smoke traveling out of my mouth as I spoke. "But you said yourself that you weren't sure that you and Cosmos could take that monster out together," Elder Paul reminded me of
ERIKA'S POV"This is the last baby, Luna Erika! Push!""Push!" "Push!"I swallowed hard and bit back tears as the nurses encouraged me to push out my last baby. I could feel my whole body getting numb already.Childbirth was really painful. I was still hurting from the expansion of my uterus during the first push. But there was still one more to go.However, the majority of my pain came from the things I sensed happening outside."Concentrate on pushing!" The doctor tapped me when he noticed my senses were detecting things happening outside.Soon, the head of the last baby had come out and the doctor was gently pulling him out."Yes! Almost there!" He shouted, "Keep going! Keep going!"A loud cry left my mouth and I squeezed every last ounce of strength in me and pushed out my last baby."Yay!" The doctor cried. The whole hospital became a parade of joy amidst the battle going on. I fell back on the pillow and listlessly watched everyone as they cheered and danced. I thought I'd hav
KILLIAN'S POVThe Sloane before my eyes was nothing like the Sloane I knew. Even my wolf, Alek, could sense it."This is a bad idea, Killian," my wolf growled. But that wasn't the point where I'd care about it being a bad idea or not. I'd sworn on my life that not a single pregnant lady would get harmed. It didn't matter if the rest of us would die."I'd advise you shift immediately because you won't be able to scratch me with your human form," Sloane said to me.I smirked nervously."Don't get cocky! Sloane!" I yelled, rushing at him in my human form.I leapt into the air and came at him with a heavy punch. But the moment I swung my punch, Sloane had vanished from where he stood. My eyes widened in shock."Killian, behind you!" Ciro shouted.I turned around in midair and Sloane was coming at me. Quickly, I ducked left and barely managed to dodge his punch. But he grazed my cheek before I could completely dodge."Focus on your battle, Ciro!" I roared at him, "I'll send this bastard ba
ERIKA'S POVThree months had passed after the battle with Aldres. The petition had been filed against the Congress and presented before every region of the supernatural world. Thus, the Congress became careful with their actions. The barrier had remained on since that day I set it up. It constantly drained my energy, but I barely got engaged in activities, so I didn't worry about it.Killian brought my food to the bed. He'd take me to the bathroom whenever I needed to use it. Whether I wanted to bathe or poop, he'd assist me.The doctor visited more frequently than usual. All the pregnant women were almost due. We had less than two weeks to give birth. But some of us had gone into labour already. More doctors were brought from But for the past three weeks, there had been news of constant killing and kidnapping in the supernatural world. Due to that, and added to the fact that my pregnancy was almost due, Killian stayed back in the pack more often than usual. He postponed every meetin
KILLIAN’S POV“Don’t tell me you’re so weak, Alpha Killian. What was all that hype from the Congress about you? Look whom they told me to be careful while fighting,” Aldres spat. I could barely see with my eyes as I lay on the warm floor after receiving countless blows from the vampire.“Stand up,” he said to me, “stand up and fight! I want to give you an honorable end!”I staggered up and spat blood out of my mouth. My spine had shifted when Aldres dropped me from the sky, but I was able to squeeze it back in form when he was punching me on the floor.I took in a deep breath and closed my eyes shut, concentrating blood on the nerves of my ears, making my hearing ten times sharper. I needed to last longer in this battle so as to buy the pack enough time to escape. With my sense super-heightened now, I suddenly sense Erika in the house. What was she doing there? But my panic eased a bit when I sensed Trevor’s presence there as well. Whatever they were doing there, they needed to be fa
ERIKA’S POVThe battle between Killian and the Vampire Lord had begun after Killian saved Edward from his head being blasted away by the vampire Lord. The vampire looked like he was still in shape like it had taken him nothing to beat Edward Blue and Black. In the first few seconds of their battle, they were evenly matched. Killian was even able to land two blows on the vampire lord.“Your moves aren’t as fast as they should. What’s wrong?” Killian asked him after landing the second blow.“Who’s going to go down first?” Lord Aldres said to him with a smile.Killian shook his head, “I overestimated you vampires.”With that, he launched himself at the vampire lord with full force and landed him with a kick. But Aldres was able to catch that kick with his arms.“Not quite heavy,” he smirked.Wing emerged from his back immediately and he flew into the air dragging Killian by the legs. Ascending to a very high altitude, he let go of Killian, and Killian came falling from the sky.Aldrs had
KILLIAN'S POVAfter making out with Erika, I slept soundly that night. But when I woke up the next morning, I had a whim that something was not right. The soldiers who had been on watch the previous night hadn't alerted me of any enemy presence. But inwardly, I kept feeling like the enemy had already come.I stood up from the bed and walked to the wardrobe, pulling out a black shirt and black trousers. I looked back at the bed, Erika was still fast asleep. Dressed up, I gently opened the room door and sneaked out of the room. My plan was to go to the outskirts of the pack and wait there for the Vampire Lord's arrival. If the battle commenced there, that'd give my pack enough time to make the escape preparations. However, when I stepped outside of the house, I sensed someone's pain come over and over again. It suddenly flashed through my mind that the pain I sensed was Edward's. It was then that I realized that the Vampire Lord had already arrived and Edward was doing the exact same
ERIKA'S POVThe next day was going to be the day that the Vampire Lord would come to battle Killian. The Elders knew nothing about this. Killian had found it difficult to rest throughout the day.In the evening, Killian went to the bar and kept drinking until I sent a servant to tell him that I needed his attention at home.He came back home, half drunk, his hair messy and his mouth reeking of liquor as he spoke."What are you doing, drinking when there's a battle to face tomorrow?" I asked him, "Is that what we should be doing by now?""Is it wrong to drink my last wine?" Killian countered my question with his own."Not actually. But you're overdoing it. What if the enemy shows up before then?" I asked worriedly."Aldres is a man of his words. He won't even come close to the perimeters of this area until tomorrow," Killian said, sounding so sure of someone whom h barely knew anything about."Please, there are better things we could do now," I beckoned on him."Like what? Pray to the
ERIKA'S POVThat night, Amiel visited me in my dream. She summoned me to the top of a rocky hill that had water running out from every rock on it. We sat on two rocks, discussing, while water rushed below our feet. The sound of the running water became somewhat of a distraction. Amiel waved her palm over the water and every drop froze where they were. Even the tiniest drops in the air froze and hung there."Wow," I gasped softly, "you're amazing.""Thank you," she said with a chivalrous smile."So, what happened with the mermaid queen?" I asked her.She giggled softly, "We no longer fought.""Ah... Why?""She submitted. We were two and she was all alone," Amiel said."I heard the mermaid queen is very powerful. I heard she controls the whole ocean," I said to Amiel."No. She's not that powerful. She doesn't even rule the whole ocean," Amiel said. "There are other beings in the water whom she is terrified of. And that's why she seeks more power.""Hmm... Really," I said. "So, would yo
KILLIAN'S POV I took to my feet immediately, rushing back to the house. I only knew little about pregnancy, but I had kept an accurate record of how long she had been pregnant. It was just six months. Was it normal for the baby in the womb to start moving? I couldn't tell for sure. But her voice seemed disturbed. When I got to the house, I barged into the room to see Erika's belly bulging up and down."What is this?" I gasped. It looked so outrageous like the baby was kicking her from inside. But what was more outrageous was that Erika wasn't feeling any pain from that."He's talking, but I can't hear him," Erika said to me. How did she know it was a "he"?"I think his Father will be the one to understand him," she said to me.Curiously, I walked closer to the bed and placed my ear on Erika's belly listening."Father, you're in danger!" A shriek flew into my ears.I shuddered back immediately, falling on the floor. That was when the kick suddenly quieted down."What happened?" Erika
