Chapter 71: Holy Shit!

ERIKA'S POV "Erika, could you help me with this last assignment question?" Vanessa crept up from behind me, laying her notebook on my desk. My cheeks reddened with a blush. From being the newest student in class, now I was a hot cake. "Yes. Sure. Bring your seat over here," I said. I noticed Rita flash a grim glare at me from her desk. I turned my eyes away from her immediately and carefully explained the solution to that last question to Vanessa. "Wow. You're a genius! Thank you so much!" she said, dancing back to her seat with her notebook— not so typical of her. When it was time to go, Charles and I left the class together as usual. But I wasn't headed for Stacey's class just yet. I made a new friend the previous week at the swimming class. Her name was Milca— the best female swimmer in school. Having grown up in a pack of wolves who lived by the banks of a river, she learned how to swim excellently. She was also one of the best singers in the school and attended music class

Chapter 72: The First of its Kind

KILLIAN'S POV It snowed as elder Paul and I went through the woods of the Himeria river. Headed for the coven of the witches of the oak hill, he tried convincing me to keep up with the journey on which I had halfheartedly agreed to join him. "It's the witches who know more about this supernatural world than us," Elder Paul said as a snow-covered twig broke under his foot when he stepped over it. "You know I'm the type of person who has always despised the witches from day one, uncle," I said. "In as much as we could need them, I do my best to avoid anything that will lead to me seeking their help." "But at this desperate time, you're willing to put your ego aside, aren't you? You're scared, aren't you?" "I'm not scared, uncle. I'm only curious and I seek answers to what I can't fathom," I pointed out, frost smoke traveling out of my mouth as I spoke. "But you said yourself that you weren't sure that you and Cosmos could take that monster out together," Elder Paul reminded me of

Chapter 73: Follow My Lead

KILLIAN’S POV "You're a man who happens to arouse my interest," the mother witch said to me. "But your arrogance is quite the reason I've avoided you the same way you avoid witches. You're just lucky to be blessed with those around you." I held back my words as I didn't want to ruin what uncle Paul had succeeded in doing. "Be free in my temple," she suddenly laughed, "I was only messing with you. I'm honored to have you here." I remained silent in my seat. I scanned her face and could tell she was just trying to ease the tension in the air. "Can we go to the library now?" I asked, careful not to offend her. "Of course," she smiled. "Follow my lead." I got up on my feet and elder Paul followed suit. We walked behind the mother witch as she guided us along a marble corridor that led to the backyard of the temple. We walked out into the vast spacious backyard where the rest of the witches were busy with their daily activities. Some of them were those doing chores, others were pra

Chapter 74: Twenty-Five Percent

ERIKA’S POV The fashion department lecturer, Mr. Osbert, suddenly bumped into the class. "Everyone to your seats!" He shouted. "Your pen on your desks... everything else away!" My heart raced immediately. This was the test he had been warning about for over two weeks. He had told us to study cause the test could come on any random day. So the day was finally here. We all ran to our desks and made sure there was nothing more than a pen on top of the desk. Immediately, he began going from table to table, handing out test scripts to us. He'd drop your script face down on your desk and warn you not to flip it over until he said so. "This test is going to cover 25 percent of your total grade for the term. If you fail it, you've missed 25 marks," Mr. Osbert sounded. My heart sank. Tension pulled at all my veins. This was my first test and there was no space to consider failure. I flicked my pen up and down my fingers waiting for his instruction to open the scripts. He stood by hi

Chapter 75: The Ball

ERIKA’S POV School was over. My stomach blared with hunger. I was so famished and needed to eat enough to fill Veletta and me. Since taming my wolf, I had eaten twice, or even thrice more than I normally did. "I'm sorry guys, I can't trek home today. I'm famished and I need to fill up my stomach immediately," I said. "C'mon. How hungry are you? I could buy you a taco or anything else," Charles proposed. "I'm a werewolf, Charles," I shrugged. "I have to fill myself and the hungry wolf inside of me." "So, literally you're a foodie?" He asked. Of course, I was. All thanks to Veletta. "You need to go out with me someday and see how I eat," I laughed, but careful not to laugh too much and agitate my crying stomach. "Same goes for me," Milca teased. "We're not your regular girls who don't eat much when you take them out." "For real," I laughed. "Alright, guys. See you tomorrow," I said, running off to join Stacey and the others at the bus stop. "Tomorrow's Saturday!" Milca shoute

Chapter 76: I'll Miss You

ERIKA’S POV Ciro's car was packed in front of Miss Loy's house by 9 am the next morning. Miss Loy called me to come downstairs with my bags. "Hope she doesn't have many loads," I heard Ciro say to her. "It's only a matter of one week before she returns." I was just by the door when I heard him. Immediately, I scurried back to my room with my two heavy bags, unpacking all the unnecessary loads. I removed the two sneakers I had stuffed into the bag, my big hoodie which I had a spare of it in the pack, and two jean trousers. My load was lighter now, and everything managed to fit into one bag. "How long are you gonna stay?" Stacey whispered to me. She was coming out of her room when she met me leaving. "I'm guessing, a week," I told her. "Alright. Be safe out there," she hugged me. "Thanks, Stacey." I pulled the door open and walked outside with my bag. "Hey, queen!" Ciro called. "Ciro!" I smiled, rushing to greet him with a hug. He patted me on the back. "You know I should

Chapter 77: What are you waiting for?

KILLIAN'S POV I knocked on her door. My ears could pick up her soft snore as she slept. But the doors weren't locked— her doors never were. It had been about four hours since she had returned from the human world. But I had been busy carefully editing a lot of mails I wrote, before actually sending them out. But it seemed her wolf, Veletta heard my knock and then woke her. As she was awake, I didn't need her to get the door for me. I was just being cautious of walking in on her naked. I pushed the door slightly and she pulled a blanket over her chest before I could step a foot in. "Hi!" She muttered, rubbing her eyelids with the bunch of her palm. "Welcome," I said as I gently sat beside her. "Have you eaten, yet?" "No," she yawned. "I thought it'd be better to get a good nap first." I reached Lerah through the mind link and ordered her to come upstairs with something warm for Erika to eat. I bent my face closer to Erika and observed her chin. Her cheeks had grown a bit fatter

Chapter 78: Hold your wolf!

ERIKA'S POV The day of the ball... "Girl you look astonishing in this dress. Alpha Killian should've just let you wear it," Sandra said to me. "I know," I sighed as I stood in the mirror while she helped me comb my hair from behind. "So, what's your other choice of dress?" She asked me. "Check in the wardrobe there. There's a grey suit and a pink shirt," I said. "Luke's girls brought it over last night." She tied up my hair first, before going to check out the dress I was talking about. O continued with the rest of my make-up, carefully applying a black eyeliner along my lashline. "Oh dang. This isn't bad as such, but I prefer the one you're wearing already," Sandra confessed. "I know right? But let me get changing into that one immediately. Killian spoke about the driver coming in an hour," I said. "Okay," she sighed. I was about to remove the top of my dress when Killian came rushing into the room wearing the dress I had made for him. "Erika, change into—" he was about to

Chapter 79: Dance with me!

KILLIAN'S POV The host for the annual ball was a witch clan led by Azrael, the mother witch of that clan. Everything had been organized, from the decorations, down to the events and seat organizations. Azrael herself ushered us in as we matched in pairs. She was in our age group and was currently the youngest mother witch in the supernatural world. Six years ago, she had played a very big role in a battle the supernatural world faced against demons. Since then, she had gained recognition and eventually became a clan leader. The receptionist took us to our reserved seats and I sat with Erika beside me. After an opening speech had been made by the oldest creature in the supernatural world, Zak the orc emperor, a party soon began. The party zone was separate from the meeting zone of the hall. Everyone moved over to the party zone where a dance rhythm had already begun. Erika had already begun nodding her head when we were just by the door to the party zone. "Do you like dancing?" I

Chapter 80: The Devil

ERIKA'S POV Looking into Sloane's eyes made some memories rush through me. I could swear it felt like I had met him somewhere before. But while my wolf growled offensively, I felt like coming close to him. He had walked in looking so calm and gentle and had only offered to dance with me, which had been going well until Killian came and punched him. I couldn't understand why Killian had picked a fight with such a gentle person. Killian was outside, by the balcony, his friends consoling him. I boiled with curiosity to know what problem he had with Sloane. Or was it jealousy that another man had danced with me? Putting his arms around my waist wasn't a big deal to me. I wondered, could it just be territoriality? I left the dance floor where I had now lost my interest in the charming rhythm that had been playing. "Could you excuse us, please?" I summoned the courage to speak to the alphas who surrounded him. "Oh, his lover is here," Marius said, "let's leave them some space." Immed
