STANLEY POV Sam's heart thumps slowly as the blood continues to ooze out of her wound. Something is definitely wrong. Hurst has been working on her for longer than needed for a simple bullet extraction. The sweat on his brow also points to an issue. Dan, Samantha, and Boyd left to join the search in Florida for Margaret Polk, and the rest of the pack has been stuck tiptoeing around Mariah and Lauren. We have all taken turns hiding out in our rooms, but being together is a must while the pack's leaders are gone. Our instincts demand it. We need the closeness to reassure our inner animals.
