The blast from the explosion shook the base so hard the ceiling dropped chunks of rocks. Jack pressed himself against the wall until he was sure it was over. Cries sounded throughout the tunnels, but Jack paid them no heed as he took off towards Alex and Lexi's room.He jumped around people in the hallways until he finally reached their quarters. Tom peered through the scope on his rifle. Small figures moved in the inky darkness near the edge of the ocean. He took a deep breath, stuck his pinky and index finger in his mouth, and whistled a long high note. Short whistles responded. He tested the wind then looked through the scope again.
