THE LYCAN INVASION - 2

“The right way?” Ghost stared at Descartes. “What do you know about the right way to fight a war?”“I might not be a Lycan,” Descartes shrugged. “Or a werewolf or witch or vampire, but I believe I know a few things about the system. I have been around here long enough to know how things work.”Ghost sat down back and reclined in his chair. “And tell me what you know about how things work, Descartes. I’m listening.”Descartes brought out a rumpled piece of paper from his back pocket, unfolded it and set it on the table before them with a loud thud. Ghost frowned and stared at the piece of paper before them. It was a map.“And what is this?” Ghost frowned. “How does this help you prove your point?”“In many ways,” Descartes said. “This is a map of the Old World. Up here js the North where we are. That cove over there is the dwelling of Ferran and his Ice wolves. To the right is the Mountain Ghost pack, up in the Mountains. Have you ever bothered to wonder why it is called the Mountain G

THE WOLF WHO REFUSED TO BOW

Xavier and Jimin had already made the decision to move at dawn the next day when they saw the strange boy make out with Karla in the kitchen It was a sunny day and they had gathered at the palace for the first official meeting since the death of Elder Xhang. Most of the Elders still seemed to be shaken by his death and it was no surprise to Jimin or Xavier because they had been there too and his death was under strange circumstances. He had been possessed by the Lycan King, Ghost Damon. The Elders were even more surprised when Xavier had announced his plan to unanimously elect Elder Obada as the new head of the Elders. They didn’t have anything against Obada of course because he had his slates clean. He was even one of the Elders fighting for the truth and the release of Trey back at court. The only reason they raised eyebrows was because the tradition was very clear. The Elders had always elected their own leader. It had never been in the Alpha’s place to elect a leader for them and

THE FIRST LUNA

Aurum bounded away as fast as he could with Megan on his back and the kitchen servants had to clear his way to avoid been trampled upon to death. “Woah! Let me go!” Megan cried as Aurum bounded away with her. “Who the fuck are you?”“Your Alpha King,” Xavier growled at her. “Now tell me who you are.”“Well, you have to stop a bit,” Megan said. “I can’t possibly talk when you’re running at 150 an hour.”Aurum slowed down and shifted back to Xavier. “Better now?” Megan fell on the floor as Xavier could not hold her weight anymore. “Thank you for the joy ride,” Megan grumbled. “But I don’t think I requested for any.”“You’re welcome,” Xavier smiled. “Now tell me who you are at once. You saw what happened back there with the crazy boy.”“Justin,” Megan said. “I knew there was something suspicious about him the first day he walked into this kitchen. I knew it…”“Wait, wait, wait,” Xavier cut her short. “How long has he been here?”“Two days now,” Megan said. “He said he came from the Nor

A KING AND THREE HEIRS

Justin smiled at the boy standing before him. It was going to be an easy victory.“Come on, Alpha,” Justin smiled and folded his sleeves up. “Lets see what you’ve got there?”They circled each other with calculating looks in their eyes and Xavier stopped halfway and smiled at Justin.“So your father tried to kill me?” Xavier said. Justin frowned at him and shrugged.“I have no idea what my father plans to do and what he plans not to do,” Justin said. “I was more like a senior servant…doing the dirty work for him without knowing what was actually going on.”“If you were doing the dirty work,” Xavier grunted. “How come you never knew about your father’s plans to kill me?”“Oh I was never interested in you,” Justin replied quickly. “You see, my father wanted to kill you and I knew that quite well even though he tried his best to keep it a secret from me. I just didn’t care about you. You were not important to me. The only thing I cared about was my throne, my rightful position as the hei

THE AFTERMATH OF HIS DEATH

Xavier woke up with a start. He had a strange and faraway look in his eyes and he turned around, trying to catch sight of all of them.“I just had the strangest dream in the world,” Xavier frowned. “In my dream, I saw my sister, Layla and she was…” Xavier paused and spun around suddenly. “Layla.”Layla smiled at him and he rose up hastily and jumped up on her, squeezing her in his embrace. “I can’t believe this is actually you, again. How is this possible?”Layla smiled and shrugged. “What can I say? We bless the gods. Selene has always been on our side hasn’t she?”“Its her?” Jimin frowned. “Selene is the one who brought you back to life?”“I won’t say brought me back to life exactly,” Layla laughed. “But yes, something like that. She bought me some time to help my big brother and his pack.”“I see,” Jimin nodded. “You know what we have to do right? We have to head to the ends of the earth. Xavier has to claim his right as the Alpha King.”“I know everything that I need to know Jimin

ALPHA XAVIER'S FIRST KILL

“You still haven’t told me how the two of you are brothers?” Layla frowned, her eyes fixed on her elder brother. “And why were you calling dad some hours ago? Is he somehow alive like you are?”“I promised I would tell you Layla,” Xavier grunted. “But there’s a lot going on right now. We’re still moving today remember? Don’t worry, I would fill you in.”“You’d better,” Layla snarled and turned to help a little kid that was trying to stand up. “Hello beautiful…”Xavier sighed in exasperation and allowed his mind to wander again. It was just the beginning of his second week as the Alpha of the pack but the drama that he had experienced first hand made it seem more like he had been the Alpha for a decade already. In just a week, he had watched the leader of the Elders die, as well as his own sister, along with a couple of other minor altercations that he doubted his father would have experienced in his own reign. It made him wonder if it was wise making all the decisions by himself. He s

THE LYCAN INVASION - 3

Mork stared at the faces of the fifty Lycans standing before him and he could see it very clear in their eyes – fear, mixed with anger. He couldn’t blame them though. Their Lord commander and King, Ghost Damon who felt like he knew everything was the one that was going to cause their eventual downfall. It was beneath his imagination how he expected just fifty Lycans to take down a whole pack of werewolves and he prayed that he received an message from Ghost that back up was coming. Unlike the two times he went with a hundred men and managed to come back alive, he knew very well that none of them were going to survive it. It was a suicide mission and none of the Lycans there seemed to be happy about the fact that they were the ones deployed for that mission.“I know that none of you is thrilled to be here,” Mork grunted. “I for one am not thrilled to be here, for the third time.”“I think you should be,” Sven, a red haired Lycan grunted. “How come you have not been able to take down th

THE LYCAN INVASION - 4

Mork stared in excitement at the Lycans that lined the other side of the rock and he could easily make out the face of the Lycan leading them. It was Ozark. He knew Ozark very well. He was brave, reckless and a good warrior if you were particular about someone who wanted to murder werewolves gruesomely. Many even claimed that Ozark was more reckless than Ghost himself and Mork knew that it was his only chance to rest the rumors he had always heard. He had heard a lot about Ozark but he had never been chanced to see him at the war front. Ozark was not one of the senior commanders in the Lycan army but Ghost saved him for only the most important missions because Ghost knew that he would always come in handy. However, Mork was still senior to him in position and could order him around.Mork whistled – a low tuned whistled that went through the winds and caught the attention of Ozark who was on the other side of the rock and once he had caught the commander’s attention, he knew that all h

WHEN DUTY CALLS

Xavier stared at the screen of his phone in shock as he read the message that popped up and from the expression on his face, they all knew that there was a problem. Jimin was the first to react. He steadied hos reins and whipped at his horse to go faster and when he had caught up with Xavier who had preferred to move ahead of them on foot, he stopped and climbed down.“What is the matter, Xavier?” he asked as he peered at the phone screen to see whatever it was that made Xavier stop walking so awkwardly. He stared at the screen of the phone and he read the message himself. It was from Elder Obada.“News has just reached me from the Mountain Ghost Pack. The Lycans attacked about an hour ago and have managed to close them in. I would advise you change your route and head to the other packs first. Fighting with Lycans less than an hour into your journey would not be the best option for you and your men.”Jimin stared at Xavier and their eyes met each other’s. “What do you suggest we do,

UNANSWERED QUESTIONS

“Calisté was our father’s enemy for the better part of his life,” Xavier started. “For all his life if I’m being very practical. Jimin’s father, Tae was the Beta of our pack back then and he was meant to marry Calisté.”“He was meant to marry Calisté?” Layla frowned. “How did he get mated to a witch?”“They were not mates,” Xavier frowned. “They were lovers. Our father would not hear of it – that his Beta wanted to get married to a witch and so he spoilt their blossoming relationship by telling Tae’s father. Tae’s father attacked Calisté’s family as a form of warning for her to stay clear from his son and that was where the war started.”“Are you trying to say that we the werewolves are the ones at fault?” Layla frowned, her eyes fixed on her own elder brother.“I would advise you reduce your voice,” Xavier said looking around. “You don’t want our soldiers to hear this do you?”Layla frowned and they walked on, ahead of Jimin, Megan and the rest of the warriors.“We started this war,
