THE DEATH OF THE DAMONS

“Wake up Xavier.”13 year old Xavier Damon decided that he couldn’t keep ignoring the voice that had been beckoning to him for the past thirty minutes. He turned and stretched in his bed, tired. He looked up at the broken clock hanging loosely on the cracked wall of his room. It was 10pm.“But I slept off by 10 and it’s been hours,” he said to himself coming down from the bed.He opened the door of his room and walked through the corridor. From the other end, he could hear the sound of water dropping steadily from the kitchen . He paused and perked his ears to listen. Something was not right! In the thirteen years he had lived with his family in one of the oldest and most dilapidated house in Manhattan, there was one thing he knew for sure – the kitchen tap never leaked. Every other tap in the apartment but not the kitchen tap. He walked further, his grip tight on the torchlight in his hand, ready to put it on at any minute and go “Bam!” on whoever he would find snooping around.Getti

A SECOND CHANCE

“Wake up Xavier,” Xavier opened his eyes slowly, squinting at the bright light shining above. He jumped up, suddenly aware of the surrounding. The sun was shining brightly in the sky and the winds blew gently, carrying along debris and fallen leaves all the way. Xavier spun around confused, wondering how he had slept off at home and woken up by the side of a busy road. Little children skidded along the road, their shoes with tyres and they all stared at him as they skidded past as though he was from an 1850 vintage collection. Some even pointed at him.“What’s he wearing?” he heard them murmur.“Looks like a 19th century pauper,” another laughed.“Think he slept on the road…oh the cold,” one said.“Still doesn’t explain why you’re dressed up like an old farm boy.”They all laughed and Xavier stared at his clothes wondering what was wrong about wearing an overcoat in the cold winter of 1922. He ignored them and walked on, wondering where his family house that had been standing on that

A WEIRD FAMILY

“Wake up Xavier."Xavier Damon should have gotten used to the drill of a voice in the winds waking him up occasionally but he woke up on the morning of the second of September to the face of a girl about sixteen staring him down.“Layla?” he murmured, sleepy. “You’ve grown tall overnight? And what’s with the red hair?”“Not Layla,” she frowned. “And you might want to change out of those rags. We can’t have people trooping in here to stare at a 19th century relic.” Xavier’s ears perked up immediately as he heard the ‘19th century.“Sorry who are you?” he asked sitting up cautiously. “And what’s today’s date?”“Ariana,” she said. “You can call me Aria.”“Okay Aria,” Xavier said. “What’s going on? Where’s Layla? And who’s house is this.”“Ghost finally found your family,” Aria said, staring him down with her grey eyes.“Who’s Ghost?” Xavier stood up. “And what does he want with my family?”“Wouldn’t forget the name of the man who killed my family even after a thousand years,” Aria mutter

FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL

Xavier’s first day of school turned out to be like a typical werewolf’s first – terrible. Dressed in an oversized grey T-shirt and black leather pants, he looked pretty cool. His sand colored hair had been cut neat the previous day bringing out his handsome facial features and Aria was not at all surprised when boys glared angrily and girls tripped over their laces, staring at him. Xavier was thirteen, handsome and he was a werewolf.Aria escorted him to the door of a classroom and after a brief discussion with a lanky woman on a pair of binoculars, she smiled and left him without saying a word. He turned to follow her but feeling a soft hand on his back, he turned back. It was the woman Aria had been speaking with.“Xavier, I suppose?” she squinted at him through her binoculars.“Yes Ma’am,” he said.“The good kid I see,” she smiled. “Got some manners there.”“My ma taught me to greet my elders and stay out of trouble,” Xavier replied.“Your ma?” she frowned, wondering why he spoke O

XAVIER DAMON IS A WEREWOLF

A werewolf?”Everyone started gathering round little by little and very soon, the class was filled with students from different grades.“How do you know?”“Who told you so?”“Come on, werewolves don’t exist!”“You know Brad, he’s a liar.”“I’M NOT LYING!” Brad screamed quieting the class down immediately. “And I’ve got proof.”“Then show us,” someone said.“Yeah,” another student supported. “Show us.”“Show us,” a girl shouted.“Show us,” everyone chorused.“I would,” Brad grinned feeling like the hero. “If you would follow my terms.”“What terms?” someone in the crowd asked“Get me a sharp knife,” he smiled. “And hold the werewolf down.”Xavier stared round at the crowd that thronged him, surprised that they were actually cool with Brad’s crazy ideas. A knife? And holding him down? He began to panic immediately and started thinking of the best way to escape what could turn out to be a very ugly situation so quick.“Guys calm down, I’m not a werewolf,” he announced. “I’m Xavier Damon.

THE WOLF AND THE WITCH

Xavier struggled to make his way across the lawn. He had lost a lot of blood already but he kept on going. He knew he had to keep going. For everybody, for Layla, for his family, for his people. He had to put an end to the mindless massacre of werewolves that had been going on since. He struggled to keep moving and surprisingly his body carried on. He stopped at the sight of the house. From the distance, he could recognize it as the house he had been living in, Ariana’s house and it took all of his will power to crawl to the door.“Aria!” he called and blacked out immediately. The next thing Xavier could remember was the warm water trickle down his skin. He opened his weak eyes to look around and his eyes found Aria with a bowl of water beside him.“Xavier,” she smiled staring at him with her hazel eyes. “You’re alive. Thank goodness.”“I am?” he asked lost. His brain was still trying to process the events of the last hour and it took him some time to remember. He sat up immediately re

INTO THE WOODS

Xavier woke up with an unbearable pain in his lungs. He stood up from the bed, still clutching his stomach and unable to get his balance, he stumbled to the floor. He felt something cold touch his skin and he turned alarmed to see what it was. “Aria!” he shouted. He knelt down beside her body and felt her pulse. Nothing. Her eyes were open and staring into space and her body was cold. Her red hair had a shade of brown and her lips were turning black already. He took one last look at the lifeless body of Ariana, the witch girl he had met just a day ago that sacrificed her life to save him before he walked out of the room. Her voice was still ringing in his ears.“…take the road west, your place is in the woods…there you will fulfil your destiny…”Unlike other days when he was usually clueless, Xavier knew what he had to do. He had to take the road west. He had to fulfil his destiny. He knew that something or someone was waiting for him there. He walked upstairs to Aria’s room and knock

THE SON OF THE ALPHA KING

Jimin hated acting. He hated anything that had to do with pretense. He had always been very straightforward and that was one of the reasons why Jaime had put him in charge of the sentinels. Jimin frowned at the thought of lying to Jaime but he couldn’t risk angering Dan. He knew very well that the voice he had heard speaking through Xavier was Dan’s. FROST XAVIERS IS THE NAME

Xavier was tempted to ask Jimin if he was sure he knew the road. They had been walking for over ten minutes and a few times, he stopped and crouched down to look at something on the wet floor of the cave. Xavier was not sure what it was but he waited whenever Jimin stopped and continued walking when he did. “Is it still far?” Xavier whispered. “My legs are hurting already.”Jimin stared at Xavier’s feet for a while and looked up at him. “Why are you wearing pink sneakers?” he asked. “Long story,” Xavier sighed. “It all started when…”“Don’t bother,” Jimin frowned walking faster. They stopped at a huge stone blocking the path and Jimin tapped the stone. A screen appeared on it and he pressed his thumb on the screen for a second. It scanned his thumb print and the stone rolled away. Jimin turned to Xavier and nodded at him, signaling for him to step inside.“A rogue wolf remember,” he whispered in Xavier’s ears as they walked in.Xavier could not believe his eyes. If not that Jimin h

THE WEIRD WOLF

Xavier’s eyes darted from the gazebo to the training ground and back to the gazebo. He was in awe. How could such big structures fit into a small cave? He stared around for a while forgetting that he was following someone and almost got lost in a crowd of girls running past. Most of the girls blushed at the sight of Jimin but he stared at Xavier, a sour expression on his face.“Want to know how I got this mark?” Jimin frowned, showing Xavier a small scar under his left eye.“No,” Xavier shook his head. “I don’t think so.”“Carrick,” Jimin said ignoring Xavier. “He was the head of the Sentinels when I was a juvenile.”“Okay?” Xavier stared at him wondering where he was driving.“I’ll be very glad to give you yours,” Jimin said and started walking again.Xavier made sure to follow him closely this time. Walking behind Jimin was not very hard if you could keep up with his pace but it was equally boring and time consuming as he never even stopped once to wave to any of the girls tha
