Chapter 21

Cirilla's point of view I kept turning and tossing on Lyra's bed. I was restless. For some reason, I just couldn't sleep. The moon was shining bright in the sky, a little of its light peering through the curtains. I was alone in Lyra's room while she spent the night at Stefan's. I felt agitated for no reason, as my mind and thoughts were solely on Asher. He was driving me insane, and I couldn't quell the crazed need to be next to him. I released another groan, burying my head beneath the soft pillow. Then I heard the faint squeaking of the door. It pulled open and then shut almost instantly. I could only be Lyra. I thought to myself, but after a while, she didn't join me on the bed. I pushed the pillow on my head away, my eyes darting around the room. It instantly fell on the figure standing in front of the door. That was definitely not Lyra. I couldn't see the face, but there was an electric charge in the air, and I could never be mistaken. It was Asher. Only his presence was

Chapter 22

Cirilla's point of view There was a painful feeling in my chest, hurting me and tormenting me. I burned with so much pain that it caused me to grip the sheets of the bed. Tears rushed down my cheeks as I writhed in pain. I hated this pain. I wanted it to stop. The voice in my head was screaming, howling in pain. The intensity of her cries was affecting me. Aside from the furious pain I felt, something else was wrong with me, something that caused my head to throb, almost as if the pain and the cries were awakening something within me from a deep slumber. I began to groan loudly. The lights around the room began to flicker, but that was the least of my worries. I felt suffocated. The burning pain in my chest began to work its way to my throat. There was this urge within me to scream, to be set free. I had to leave. I forced my shaky legs up, staggering my way out of the room. I managed to find my way out of the house, racing into the cold night. I didn't stop; I kept running, having

Chapter 23

Cirilla's point of view "What the fuck have you done again, Cirilla?" My mother's enraged voice vibrated against the corner walls of the apartment, and without warning, her hand collided harshly against my cheek, causing my head to snap to the left. I froze. Slowly, I pulled my eyes towards her. Her sandy brown eyes were simmering with rage. Was it just me sneaking out without her permission that had her so furious? Somehow, it didn't seem like that was the only reason. "Answer me, bloody bastard! Where have you been?" She yelled again, blasting my ears. I held the cheek where her hand hit me. "I was with my friends. Happy now!" I found myself yelling with similar rage embedded in my gaze. I walked away from her, but she grabbed me before I could take a couple more steps. "Friends?" She repeated, her gaze widening as if thinking it was impossible to have some of those. "What the hell have you done?" She asked, this time without yelling. I could see the fear that crossed her fea

Chapter 24

Lyra's point of view I couldn't stop the fast beating of my heart. It drummed loudly in my ears. I pulled my nails to my lips, a bad habit I haven't been able to kick out of my system. I sighed deeply, pulling my gaze up to the full moon. It was still many hours before the effect of the full moon slowly faded away. I was outside in the darkness with Stefan. My eyes lingered worriedly on the blazing full moon up in the night sky. It was still hours before the effect of the full moon faded away. I sighed deeply, and my breathing became more labored as another of Asher's deathly growls escaped from the bunkers. Its sharp sound caused me to shudder lightly. I held onto Stefan tightly. We were a short distance from the bunkers; along with Dorian, Andy, Cory, Julia, Trish, and a few other warriors, Asher had asked to remain outside. Another of Asher's growls filtered from the bunkers; only the goddess knew exactly what was happening inside. It's been only a few minutes since Wren called

Chapter 25

Cirilla's point of view My heart was drowning with so many emotions. Rage, hate, and pain. It was deeply rooted in my chest, spreading mercilessly to my bones. I couldn't stop the hot tears that kept rolling down my eyes as I tossed all my belongings on my table carelessly into my bag that was open on the bed. I head to the small wardrobe at the corner of the room, grabbing the little clothes of mine standing on the hangers while ignoring the sharp piercing in my soul. I tossed them carelessly into the bag, moving to the edge of the bed where I perched down. I pulled my hands to my tear-stained face, burying my pain and frustration in them. Yes, I was packing. I was planning on leaving, more like running away from this hellhole. But I doubt if it could be termed running away. I will be eighteen soon and I'll be in control of my own life and be responsible for myself. I had had enough of everything, and the only thing that clouded my mind was just leaving, going as far as I could fro

Chapter 26

Cirilla's Point Of ViewI was forced awake by a drone of voices. They were close, and I could begin to make out a few voices."It's just a little shock and nothing serious. She only needs rest," An unfamiliar voice sounded above the jam of noises."Thank you, Dr. Reyes," I heard Asher's calm voice mutter for the first time."It's nothing, Alpha Asher. I suggest we give her some air," The unfamiliar voice added, before retreating away.I remained still, not shifting in my position with my eyes firmly shut. It took a minute before I could stop the heavy pounding in my head, and I could feel the sharp pain at the back of my neck. It wasn't as bad as it was earlier."Thank goodness she's doing fine. I thought something worse happened to her when she was with well, you know, the one I guess should not be mentioned," That was Lyra's voice and I could feel her plop on the bed, beside me."I still can't believe she's Asher's mate," Cory said."I know right? I am even more surprised at how wel

Chapter 27

Cirilla's Point Of ViewAs soon as I was done with my breakfast, I took the tray and made my way to the kitchen. The mansion seemed a little busy, and crowded. I wondered if something was going on.I made my way to the kitchen, trying my best to ignore the silent stares that seemed to be sent my way when I was not looking, and also the weird manner people would stop walking when I was next to them, only to lower their heads to me.I reached the kitchen, and it was a little crowded with some familiar faces I was acquainted with at the pack. Some were busy cleaning the kitchen while some were at the large table, having breakfasts and chatting. But everywhere went silent the instant their eyes took me in and as if on cue, in unison, they bared their head forward, bowing at me. This wasn't only awkward, it was fucking uncomfortable. I was almost confused at the drastic change in everyone's behavior towards me, but deep down I think I know why.A young female hurried up to me, collecting t

Chapter 28

Cirilla's Point Of ViewI left the mansion, taking the route to the main gate that was familiar to me. Trish and Joshen insisted they drop me off at the gym, but I declined. It was fucking bad enough I will be freeloading at their place for the next few days, I didn't want any further favors or even worse special treatment. I would have to talk to Asher about that.It was pretty obvious every bloody wolf in the pack knew I was his mate. Speaking of awkward.I blew out some air, making my way to my locker as soon as I entered the gym. I stripped off from my clothes, wearing my gym shorts, and singlet. I left for the fighting ring."Vince," I saw the big gruff manager near the ring, speaking to some trainers at the gym.I hurried to him as he glanced my way, eyes eyeing me in surprise. "Cirilla," He dismissed the crowd around him, turning to give me his full attention. "I didn't think you'd come in today,""Well I have a job to do," I pull my hands up my waist. "So who do I have today?"

Chapter 29

Jasmine's Point Of ViewThat foolish stupid brat still hasn't returned yet. I growled in fury. I had exhausted the last straw of control and patience I thought I had. Still no word from that fucking brat, and worse, I hadn't heard anything from Emily yet. When I had informed her of the brat's disappearance, she was raging mad. Well, that made two of us. She had gone searching for Cirilla with her fucking witches but so far, there hasn't been news yet. I'm guessing they haven't had luck finding her. This was all Emily's fault we couldn't find her yet. Who knew the all-powerful spell she placed on Cirilla to make her untraceable would come back and bite us? Emily couldn't find her through magic. And the spell couldn't be broken easily as that stupid Emily came up with the not-so-brilliant idea of using the brat's magic to bind her powers to my life and now, we can't track her and she can only truly be free of I die which by the way, was never going to happen, not until I get my revenge

Chapter 30

Cirilla's Point Of ViewI shuffled under the warm covers for a few seconds before my eyes pulled open. I was in Asher's room, on the bed, covered by the warm sheets while little of the sun's rays stubbornly flickered in from the velvet curtains.I was up to a sitting position, running my fingers through the thickness of my long blonde hair. I had a blasting ache in my skull that almost made me groan for a second while my gaze dropped to the gray tee that I was wearing.I pulled off the covers, moving to the edge of the bed with my bare feet now touching the stainless marble floors. My eyes are still on the tee. It was unmistakably Asher's. It smells just like him. I couldn't remember at what point I had put this on last night. When I tried to recall, I was greeted by a merciless pain in my head. The bathroom door pulled open, and involuntarily my blue gaze lifted and caught Asher's, stepping out, almost naked with only a blue short cladding around his waist. It was hanging so dangerou
