Cirilla's Point Of View

I shuffled under the warm covers for a few seconds before my eyes pulled open. I was in Asher's room, on the bed, covered by the warm sheets while little of the sun's rays stubbornly flickered in from the velvet curtains.

I was up to a sitting position, running my fingers through the thickness of my long blonde hair. I had a blasting ache in my skull that almost made me groan for a second while my gaze dropped to the gray tee that I was wearing.

I pulled off the covers, moving to the edge of the bed with my bare feet now touching the stainless marble floors. My eyes are still on the tee. It was unmistakably Asher's. It smells just like him. I couldn't remember at what point I had put this on last night. When I tried to recall, I was greeted by a merciless pain in my head.

The bathroom door pulled open, and involuntarily my blue gaze lifted and caught Asher's, stepping out, almost naked with only a blue short cladding around his waist. It was hanging so dangerou

Cirilla's Point Of ViewIt was past noon, and my day so far has been uneventful. I didn't go to the gym today. Like Vince said, I took the day off.The morning had started with video games at the gaming parlor after breakfast with Lyra and the guys. Asher didn't return until a few hours ago. But he was currently in his office, together with Stefan, Wren, and Dorian. The men in uniform that came with him had left an hour ago.I was standing with Lyra and the guys and some pack members. I couldn't even hide my excitement seeing them back. I had no idea what mission they had gone for, but from the little conversation I had with Lyra it seemed they didn't find whatever they went in search of. I didn't press further.Rather, I buried my attention on the screen, just watching them play after I had had my ass handed to me repeatedly by Dorian and Andy during our rounds. I kept getting distracted by my thoughts.I felt uneasy. It started right from the second I woke up and Asher filled my hea

Cirilla's Point Of ViewI crashed into something hard, stumbling on the ground and taking a bite of the dust. The crowd grew quiet, and I didn't have to look to see the smile of triumph on Melinda's face.I spit out the blood that was in my mouth, feeling my sore jaw. Fuck, these wolves really do hit hard.I grabbed the metal chain next to me, getting up from the ground. My eyes narrowed on her as I wrapped the metal chain around my right fist, and I waited for her to come at me again.I breathed in, and the instant she swung her hands at me, I blocked swiftly, punching her in her ribs with my metal hands. She staggered back and composed herself before she attacked me again. I kicked her hard in the jaw, and before she got a chance to heal up, I pounced on her, pinning her to the ground while I kept smashing her face and those bloody lips of hers that wouldn't shut up earlier. She pushed off her with her nonhuman strength, causing my back to hit the ground hard.Fuck, that was cheatin

Asher's Point Of ViewI could only inhale her sweet scent until she fell asleep next to me. I pulled my eyes open, and they landed on her sleeping state.Gently, I pulled her into my arms, pulling up the sheets to cover us. My hand got lost in her long silky blonde hair and I began stroking it. She adjusted in my arms, relaxing in my warmth. It made me smile.I had had an exhausting long day and my lack of sleep for the last few days made it worse. But I felt a little bit relaxed just by being in my room, breathing in my mate's intoxicating scent.Even without being around, I could still smell her presence. It was nice. Slowly, every inch of the room had begun to carry her scent. There was so much going on. So much to deal with.It crushed me more than anything when I had informed Aunt Davi of the result of my team's search in Lakewood town, outskirts of Oregon. She had informed me there were new leads regarding the princess's whereabouts in a few places. So I sent Stefan and a few wa

Cirilla's Point Of ViewI followed him out to the parking lot, after messaging Niko. I had to raincheck on our meeting.Instead of taking his bike, we took one of the cars in the lot.I turned to him, asking. "Okay, where to?""You'll see," He drove out. We were still on the road when Asher got a call. He connected his airpods, "Joe," He said, pausing. "What?" There was silence again as he listened. His green eyes glanced at me briefly, before adding in an annoyed gruff. "I'll be there," He disconnected."Something wrong?" I asked and he nodded."Yeah,"After a few minutes, Asher pulled up in front of a station and got out. I leaned into my seat, and surprisingly, he pulled my door open."I can wait here, just go in," I looked up at his towering height."No, you won't. Come with me," He stretched a hand to me. "Please,"I sighed, taking his hand and ignoring the sparks flying.Shockingly, he didn't let go. We walked inside the station, hands linked together. Asher walked around like h

Asher's Point Of ViewI sipped from my can of beer, ignoring the sea of bodies that danced around, the loud music, the deafening gossip, and chatter that almost bled my ears, and the blazing fire that burned right in the middle of the meadow opposite the mansion. I ignored it all and focussed my undivided attention on Cirilla Bane. She was seated on one of the outstretched armchairs, right opposite me, across the meadow. Her thoughts had no doubt drifted far away, even though her eyes were glued to the burning fire. Only the goddess knew how I wished I knew what had consumed her thoughts.Abruptly, she stood up from her chair and wandered into the woods in her blue jeans shorts and white striped singlet. I gulped down the final content of my drink, and pulled up from my chair, grabbing my jacket.I left the bonfire party that was thrown in honor of Kayla and Carl before they left for New Orleans tomorrow and I trailed behind my mate into the woods, quietly. She kept walking, under th

Cirilla's Point Of ViewI was waiting for Lyra and Dorian outside the mansion the next morning. We had just had breakfast, and I was all dressed up for school. Asher, Stefan, and Wren were not coming with us, they had something else to do, after seeing Kayla and Carl off today. They were returning to New Orleans.Since morning I had been trying desperately to hide my smile, but for some reason, I was failing to. It was all because of the weird feeling in my chest called happiness. And just remembering last night makes me want to scream. I know it's crazy right? I honestly didn't get myself last night either. And it was like every feeling for Asher I had been repressing escaped in full force and I couldn't win against them. I didn't want to. I loved this feeling. And it was all because of Asher. If someone had told me I would become so addicted and crazed for a guy I had met like a month ago, I would have laughed and said, "No way in hell,"I felt Asher behind me. "I'll see you later,

Asher's Point Of ViewI held the syringe tight. "That she isn't human? Yes. They fucking knew," I answered Stef's question. At first, I thought these rogues were after her because of me. That somehow they found out she was my mate and wanted to harm her to get to me. That was usually how things like these worked. But with this syringe, it was obvious they were after her for another reason. The warriors grabbed the unconscious rogue, and we headed back home in our trucks. The prisoner was taken to the pack's cell and forced awake. I was eager to get him talking. I called for the pack's doctor and wanted to leave Cirilla with her and Lyra but she demanded she wanted to be present for the interrogation.I couldn't argue. After tonight, she made me realize she isn't one to take orders or do what she's told. And I loved that about her. It was a fucking turn on for me.I guess we both were just as crazy as the other. Imperfectly perfect.I smiled to myself. I liked that.We were at the cell,

Asher's Point Of ViewIt was way past morning. I was at the field training, trying to get things off my mind, and think clearly. But the exercise wasn't working. I wasn't thinking clearly without this measly emotion called fear crawling its way into my chest.I just couldn't stop thinking about everything Cirilla had told me last night.Last night wasn't the first time she had been attacked by wolves. She had encountered them before moving to Beaverton. That scared me. They've been following her and now, they know exactly where to find her.I groaned, feeling Ryker's relentless pacing at the back of my head as her words kept echoing. The strangest part of it all was someone had saved her that night. Someone she didn't know and wasn't human as well. She was saved right after by a man in flames. It seemed like he walked out from the flames of hell. From what she told me, it was clear she was saved by a supernatural called the Phoenix. It had to be. But I don't understand why he erased h

Asher's Point Of View My heart was pounding in my chest and I took deep breaths to calm it down.“Nervous?” Theo chuckled, placing a hand on my shoulder as we stared down the beautifully decorated aisle where Cirilla would be coming through any minute from now.“Nope,” I lied, my heart in complete chaos as I tried to steady my breathing. “Sure he is,” Wren voiced coldly, “He's a second from losing his shit,”I fought the urge to glare at him. “Get out of my head, demon,” My eyes remained fixed on the blank evening air. “Relax man! Just take a deep breath otherwise at the rate you'll end up having a heart attack the second you see her,” Stefan whispered from my left, and I couldn't tell if that was a warning or a piece of advice.“Enough, all of you. You're being too loud,” I refrained from shouting, keeping my voice low instead, and wondering why I chose all three of them to be my groomsmen. I should have gone with Daryl, Andy, and Cory instead.‘They are right though. Tune it down

Cameron's Point Of View Hastily, I flipped through the papers, going through them, and as soon as I was satisfied, I scribbled my signature at the bottom of the document, sealing a multibillion deal.I gently placed my fountain pen on the table, glancing up to see Trevor's face beaming with so much elation. “Happy now?” I smirked, getting off from my seat, and pinning together the suit jacket of my tux. “Hurry up and don't be late,” I told the smiling vampire, before strutting out of my office at Castle Corps. Today I had no choice but to step into town and close a deal we've been working on for several months now.I chuckled, as a smile stalked my lips. I couldn't just stop smiling. Today was a good day. The very best. I reached the elevator doors and pressed a button. As soon as it opened, I stepped through the door, at the same time, snapping my fingers, and instantly teleported myself to one of my penthouse suites in Louisiana.I glanced around the large suite and instantly my e

Asher's Point Of View“Just a little sec,” Louis yelled over the loud music playing in the bar as he kept shaking the bottle of wine. In one swift move, he flicked the top open and there was a loud popping sound followed by the dramatic mess of the alcohol pouring around.“Woah,” I heard Eric scream from a corner with a random female on his lap, while he kept chugging down one of the concoctions Louis had mixed the second the party started, and without mincing words, they were all clearly drunk.I groaned in frustration, bringing my fingers to block both of my ears as Amy, Shirley, Enzo, and Dorian were murdering Ava by Famy at a far corner which I clearly remembered wasn't even sung that way.I pulled my beer to my lips, taking a sip. I looked around from the dancing crowd and saw Julia and Wren sitting, also looking completely bored while Kayla and Carl were making out in the backseat booth of the bar, and Malia, Daryl, and Theo were unaccounted for.And here I was seated at one of

Cameron's Point Of ViewI knew it.There was nothing left inside of me. I was nothing more than an empty shell. I felt absolutely nothing but a pain in my heart. A darkness that loomed over every inch of my mind. Just patiently waiting until it finally took over every piece of me.It wouldn't be that bad to shut it all out. To rid myself of this pain that had filled the cavity in my soul, but one glance at Theo and my mate, reminded me I wasn't the only one suffering through it. They needed me. And I needed them. But I couldn't deny it. I also felt a little fear in the smallest crevice of my heart. We would never be okay. There was no way we would ever survive this loss.It was worse than knowing she was somewhere out there but we couldn't find her.Eighteen long years of never giving up. Of searching relentlessly for our little princess, and in the end she ended up in a coffin. It was the most distraught sight for a parent. It was never supposed to be like this. A parent should never

Cirilla's Point Of View For a second I felt a surge of excruciating pain starting from my chest right where the pointed edge of the phoenix blade pierced me, spreading through my bones, and it was as though my whole soul was being sucked into a funnel. But just when I thought the pain was about to get worse, darkness covered my vision, dominating the light around me. And I felt absolutely nothing. That was when I knew it without a doubt. I was dead.At the speed of light, everything that happened within the last minutes of my life flashed before my eyes and the last image of Asher's teary and broken gaze filled with so much pain and sadness tore me completely apart and without realizing, tears pooled out of my eyes. The hurt in his eyes was heartbreaking.I sobbed silently, and abruptly, the darkness that surrounded me began to fade into a blinding light that I had to shut my eyes.By the time I pulled my eyes open, I found myself in the middle of the worst scene of my life, or rathe

Asher’s Point Of View No!A growl resonated within my chest as Mason's words filled my mind. I just knew he was lying. He had to be. There was no way Cirilla's death had to be the end of him. That couldn't be possible. The moon goddess couldn't be so cruel.I did everything to break out from whatever effect Mason's magic had on me, keeping me frozen. But I couldn't. I could barely feel Ryker anymore and even Azalea's strength had weakened greatly from the fucking veil in the sky, blocking out our powers.I could neither connect with Cirilla through our mate bond. Instead, I was forced to watch the broken state she was in and witness her pain I couldn't stop the tears that filled my eyes as her blue eyes moved around and finally fell on mine.“Don't do this,” I begged. Mason was a lying bastard. There must be another way.But the look in her eyes was final. She had made up her mind.No Cirilla! The words echoed in my head but I couldn't get them out. Suddenly her eyes glowed brightly

Cirilla's Point Of View Growling, Nina charged to the surface, and using my magic I dug my claws into the ground creating a magical force of explosion that flung them around, giving those around some time before they would get to them.I glanced over my shoulder at Shirley. She was already in her wolf form and Kayla next to me panicked as these beasts were already bridging the distance between us.Shirley had lunged instantly at one when I heard her panicking cry from over my shoulder.I turned to her just in time to stop one of those things from clawing at her.“My magic!” She screamed, “Something's wrong! I can't use my magic. It's weakening,” “What?”“The boundary spells must be down. It's a veil, it's blocking out our magic, and every source of our powers, but I don't understand why it isn't affecting you,” Kayla rushed in fear.“Back to the mansion!” I yelled, releasing volts of magic at them but they seemed completely unaffected.Shirley and Kayla started for the route leading

Davina's Point Of ViewWe had almost all the ingredients we needed for the spell, including Sheila's blood. I don't know how Asula got it, but Sheila had no idea of what we were about to do. Asula had sent Rowena to retrieve the last piece of ingredients, and she was escorted by Kane and a few of his warriors. We had left the cottage and now followed the familiar trail to the ancient magic cave. Once we entered, she turned to the stone table in the middle, unloading the required ingredients from her basket on the table.“We must begin at once and be done quickly,” She said, scrolling through the Grimoire.“And the last piece of ingredients Rowena has gone to fetch?”“Oh don't worry about her. We have all we need here. I just sent her on a little adventure with Kane. I don't want her here for the spell,”Her words surprised me but I also didn't want her here for the spell, especially with the phoenix stone out in the open.“You have to be careful of the witch. Davina's Point Of ViewWe spent the rest of the night going around the forest. At first, each trail either led us to a dead end or took us through another circle. And Rowena's constant mumbling was a crown on the insane frustration I felt. It took me every bit of self-control not to plunge the dagger in my boots into her chest and I kept reminding myself that I needed her just as much as she needed me to get out of there. Alive. So in the meantime, we were all we had. After hours of going around in circles in the forest, we finally found our way out, bursting out in the middle of a long narrow path, and up ahead seemed like a village. We moved hastily in the darkness, and using the single torch on a stick we managed to light up to see in the darkness. We trekked up the hills and burst into the village. I stopped in my tracks, and as expected there was no single soul in sight. But something else felt wrong. The place felt deserted.“Something doesn't feel right,” Suddenly, I felt a lit
