Chapter 30

(Siobhan’s P.O.V) By the time I got out of the hotel, he was gone. Serves you right! How could you say something so vile to him!? He takes great pride in being a good Alpha to his people and you just shit all over it.! I didn’t mean to say it! I was just frustrated! Well, thanks to your bitch move, Steele is blocking me out. I wouldn’t be surprised if they reject us after this despite how much pain we will all be in. I didn’t respond, I couldn’t. She was right because he had every right to reject us now. I had continuously pushed him away, telling him I didn’t want a mate and had every intention of rejecting him before leaving. I run back up to the suite and grab the keys to one of our cars and make my way to the packhouse. I get to the gates and that fucker Luther was at the gates again, I knew he was going to give me a hard time after my comment earlier this week about his dick size. “I’m here to see my family, Luther, so just let me through.” I lie bec

Chapter 31--Split Chapter

(Camilla’s P.O.V) After Siobhan left last night, I knew things weren’t going to go well between her and Tiernan, and I was proven right when she got back to the hotel and didn’t bother to close her door as she sobbed into the blankets. I laid down next to her, holding her, trying to soothe her but I knew, nothing and no one except her mate would be able to soothe this ache. This was the last thing we needed when we are trying to investigate these kidnappings, even though we had all of the information we needed to find these children, this was a wrench in the investigation that we didn’t need. I spent the night holding her as she cried, and when she did finally fall asleep, she was having nightmares. Artis came into the room at one point to see if I wanted to switch places so that I could sleep, but I declined. When the sunlight filtered into the room, I knew it was just the beginning of a very long day. A day that Siobhan wouldn’t be a part of, and neither would one of us

Chapter 32

(Anders’s P.O.V) We pull up to the coven house of the High Priestess Winona and are greeted by a beautiful woman. Her hair is a beautiful chestnut brown, her eyes a beautiful shade of grey, and her body is long and lean, graceful. Artis, Preston, and I get out of the SUV as she comes down the stairs. “Hello, I’m High Priestess Winona it’s a pleasure to meet you agents, and welcome to the Coven of Crystal Rose.” She says. She reaches her hand out and shakes Artis and then Preston’s hand, when she reaches for mine, I feel like the world clicks into place. She smells fresh, like rain. Then it clicks in my brain…she’s my beloved. “Mate.” She whispers. I pull her into my chest and kiss the ever-loving shit out of her, and she tastes like hot tea on a rainy day. I could spend hours kissing her. Her tongue dances with mine in perfect harmony, I feel her hands making their way from my hips, up my back, and up into my hair. She angles her head to deepen

Chapter 33

(Siobhan’s P.O.V) With me being off the case at this point, I did the only rational thing a girl could do when her heart was broken; watch true crime documentaries, eat ice cream, and drink wine. Camilla bought us several pints of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream from the grocery store down the street from the hotel and we were sitting in my room when we heard a knock. At first, I thought it was the TV, but the knock sounded again, louder, and more urgent this time. Camilla got up from the bed and walked to the door, peeking through the peephole—safety first people! She turns to me, eyes wide with worry and a hint of fear. “Who is it?” I ask with my mouth full of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. “Umm, it’s your brother.” She murmurs. “Si! I know you’re in there! Open the damn door!” He shouts, banging on the door again. “Let him in.” I sigh. Camilla opens the door and not only is Patrick there, but Brian is as well. “What do you guys want?” I ask.

Chapter 34

(Tiernan’s P.O.V) I was doing my best to prepare myself not to look at Siobhan once her scent started wafting into the room. I wasn’t going to look at her, she didn’t deserve my acknowledgment right now. But when I heard Patrick tell his dad that he would explain something to him later, I looked at Siobhan. She looked a mess. She wasn’t her normal put-together self, her hair wasn’t done like it normally is, it just hung limp around her face. It obstructed my view of her face but if her choice of clothing meant anything, her face wasn’t looking any better than my own. I spent a good portion of my morning in the gym, pushing myself to the point of vomiting. Once I recovered from that, I called a few of my warriors for a sparring match. I wasn’t on my A-game, so I ended up having my ass handed to me, which I was fine with. I welcomed the pain. I went back to ignoring her, calling our meeting to order, wanting to get out of this fucking room and away from her and h

Chapter 35

***TRIGGER WARNING*** (Siobhan’s P.O.V) I couldn’t get out of that conference room fast enough; I couldn’t stand being around his scent anymore. It made my chest ache more and made Tala whimper louder than she already was. I tried shifting, but Tala refused to come forward…she hated me now. So, I just ran. I ran until my lungs burned and my legs ached. The forest was nothing but a blur around me, branches catching on my clothes causing rips in my shirt and sweats. The forest was silent as I ran further in, no birds cawing, no leaves rustling, no chatter of the squirrels. I came to a stop at a small stream near the borders of the pack lands, needing water and to catch my breath. Cupping my hands in the water, I bring them to my face and drink, the cold water refreshing against my sore throat. Once I’ve had my fill, I sit on the banks of the stream contemplating everything I’ve ever done regarding Tiernan. From the time that we were children, I would follow him and my brot

Chapter 36

(Tiernan’s P.O.V) “I just wanted to talk to you about something, that’s all.” I say. “What? Asking for advice from baby sis? Does it have anything to do with your mark and the fact that Siobhan looked absolutely miserable?” She says. Fucking smartass. “Yes. She marked me the other day without my consent when I was going to reject her and, I honestly don’t know how to go about forgiving her for that.” I say. “If this hadn’t happened and you had actually given yourself time to cool off after she said those nasty things, would you have rejected her?” I think about it, and to be honest, I wouldn’t have even thought of rejecting her over that. “No. I wouldn’t have rejected her.” I mumble, looking down at my hands. “Then you would have fucked yourself out of a wonderful mate over something that could have been discussed when cooler heads prevailed. You know Siobhan isn’t that person.” Lorena states. Then I felt it; Siobhan’s terror and then pain

Chapter 37--Split Chapter

(Brian’s P.O.V) I couldn’t believe that Siobhan had been attacked on pack lands and possibly by a pack member. It wouldn’t shock me if Luther was the one who did this, my mate, Jessica, has always been uncomfortable with him. She had told me of run-ins she had had with him where he had made comments or tried to touch her. I could hardly keep my anger in check and my wolf, Phoenix, was itching to take over. I make it to the front gate and see Luther standing around with the other guards, making idle chit-chat. “Luther!” I boomed out. “What’s up Bri? You need something?” He asks. When I get close enough, I can smell Siobhan all over him, that makes Phoenix rage against the confines of my mind. LET ME THE FUCK OUT!! No! HE HURT OUR SISTER! We need to take him to the dungeons; we can kill him after we torture him. Phoenix huffs, but his low growls reverberate in my mind. “You are being arrested for assault on Siobhan Williams, I’m here to take

Chapter 38

(Tiernan’s P.O.V) Steele was pissed and so was I, I couldn’t believe that one of my warriors would do something so heinous to another pack member. Excluding the fact that Siobhan is my mate, this behavior is unacceptable in my pack. Steele let go of control after he had snatched it away from me during her retelling, growling lowly in the back of my mind. “Why are you still here? You don’t need to stay here, you can leave.” Siobhan mumbles. “You’re my mate. Why wouldn’t I be here?” Her lip begins to tremble again, and her body is shaking from her trying to keep her sobs from coming out. “Tiernan, you have no idea how s-s-sorry I am for what I did. It has n-n-no-nothing to do with wanting to mark my t-t-territory, as you said. I was so s-s-sc-scared that you were r-r-rejecting me that I c-couldn’t think straight. It g-g-ga-gave me no right to do what I did. I just w-w-wanted you to know that I w-want you and Steele as m-m-my mate.” She says, stuttering betwe

Chapter 39

***TRIGGER WARNING***(Brian’s P.O.V)“Jessica! I told you to wait at the hospital!” I yell at my mate, who is standing in front of me…in the dungeons.“Hmm, nope! I’m here for the fun!” She says, with a giggle. She’s one of our best female warriors but she was pissing me off by being here instead of sitting her pretty little ass at home. Her small baby bump was all the evidence someone needed to see, to understand that she shouldn’t be here. Tiernan’s brother, Jacob, and his mate are expecting their first child too. Jessica and Harlow are “pregnancy buddies” and are due within weeks of one another.“Go back home. Think about the pup, go visit Harlow or something but you need to leave.” I say, grabbing her hand and moving her towards the door of the dungeons.“Not happening. Siobhan is my sister, and I need to be here for this when she can’t.” Jessica and Siobhan had never met. I’m not even sure if Siobhan knows that she’s going to be an aunt. I just sighed and
