Chapter 29: A Knight And Night To Remember II.

Lie Blu’s Apartment.Ae Ra’s POV.“It’s a relief to see you safe and sound. I was worried when you ran out of the hotel like that.” He stared pitifully. “I don’t know what happened but eat well and get loads of rest, Ae Ra.” He passed me a bag. “Ji Won got you these, please accept them.”“Thanks for bringing these to me, Seonbae. I’ll treat you to lunch soon.”He shook his head dismissively. “Focus on getting better first, then we can eat lunch.” He smiled warmly. “Thank you, Seonbae. Have a good night.” I bowed.“Goodnight, Ae Ra. I hope your night is peaceful, you’ve been through enough for one night.” He placed his hand on my head and ruffled my hair softly. “Take good care of yourself.” He smiled.“I will, thank you, Seonbae.” I bowed once more and shut my door.It would be nice if CEO Jung was half as nice as Baek Jin was. I dropped the food on my table, I had no appetite whatsoever for it. My stomach grumbled loudly… okay, maybe I was hungry. I begrudgingly ate the tteokbokki a

Chapter 30: Stay By My Side.

Lie Blu’s Apartment.Third Person.Ha Na poured the water out of the basin carefully and set it on the counter with a distraught sigh. If she hadn’t gotten here in time if she had even been a second later than she was… what would have happened to her best friend? She clenched her jaw in anger. She wasn’t going to let this slide, not when they made Ae Ra go through so much pain. She pulled her phone out and dialled her grandfather’s secretary’s number. It rang only once before the line connected. “Miss Kim,” He answered monotonously on the other end.“Ju Won, I need you to find out everything you can about Miss Gim Min So. Anything that can get her in jail with as much evidence as possible.”“Understood, Miss Kim.”“Thank you.” She sighed as she ended the call. She turned towards Ae Ra’s room lovingly, she would do absolutely anything for her.“What took you so long?” Ae Ra eyed her friend as she walked into her room. “You sneaked off to eat my snacks didn’t you?” She teased hoping to b

Her hair which was usually let down was in a dishevelled ponytail. She was always neatly dressed and while she didn’t have much make-up on she was always pretty but today was different.Ae Ra could tell what Baek Jin was thinking from how he stared at her in shock at her appearance. He didn’t have to be so blatantly surprised but she couldn’t blame him either. If he showed up for work looking like she did, she would probably react the same way. They stared at each other silently, unsure of how to proceed. “Are you okay, Ae Ra?” He ran to her side. Her right eye twitched in annoyance, “Seonbae, do I look okay?” He swallowed and took a frightened step back, the fire i

Chapter 32: Traitorous Belly.

Jung Goods.Third Person. Her eyes widened a fraction, “What are you doing, sir? I can walk by myself.”"You clearly cannot walk on your own, Miss Lee.” He retorted. She looked away from him and reluctantly wrapped her arms around his neck. "T-thank you" she uttered embarrassingly."There's no need to thank me, Miss Lee." He glanced at her. She looked anywhere but at him while biting her lips. Baek Jin’s jaw dropped as they walked past him. On one hand, he was shocked to see Ae Ra in such a sorry state, on the other hand, he was surprised to see Ji Won carrying her in his arms. He sprung to his feet. “What happened, Ae Ra? You looked bad this morning but now you just look awful!” He queried as he followed them into Ji Won’s office.Ji Won placed her gently on the sofa and took her heels off carefully. Seeing her injuries up close made him upset all over again. “How did this happen, Miss Lee?”Her heart thumped hard in her chest as she stared at the angry man in front of her. She felt

Shortly after he did that he emerged again not casting a glance at him.Ji Won ignored Baek Jin’s stare as he thought of what Miss Lee would like to eat. He pulled out his phone and searched for tasty meals but paused, a lot of meals in Korea are pretty good. He cleared the search bar and searched for foods that are good for healing sprains. He paused again, most of them looked more herbicidal than actual food. Would she like that on a hot Monday afternoon? He cleared the search bar once more and looked up tasty meals that are good for healing sprains.Kongguksu and kimchi seemed like the perfect meal for a sunny day. Healthy, refreshing and tasty. He smiled to himself as he turned to Baek Jin. “Get me a bowl of Kongguksu with a side of summer r****h green kimchi.”Baek Jin blinked repeatedly, “You might die if you eat t

Chapter 34: I'm Not Reckless.

Jung Goods.Ae Ra’s POV.“Miss Lee… Miss Lee?” A soft voice called. Where was I and who was calling my name? The first thing I noticed was the concerned silver orbs in front of me. His beautiful black hair was messy like he had run his hand through his hair several times. His lips were moving, saying something. Was he talking to me?I tilted my head to the side as I grabbed his face and examined it. His face was so beautiful up close, I thought to myself as I pulled his cheek causing him to frown slightly at me. He was not a figment of my imagination.I jumped away from him, with flushed cheeks and shook my head vehemently, forcing myself awake. “CEO Jung, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to do that to you, sir.” I was stuck in a state of confusion where I couldn’t tell reality apart from my dreams.Wait, was I dreaming of him?“It’s alright, Miss Lee.” He stood. “It’s getting late, I thought it would be best to wake you.”Now that I think about it, the sky wasn’t bright and sunny like it

Chapter 35: I Think My Boss Is Broken.

Jung Goods.Ae Ra’s POV.Eating in front of him was initially awkward but I soon got over it. His gaze was penetrative and unflinching but it was also warm and caring. He could have done whatever to occupy his time but he stayed with me instead to make sure I didn’t feel lonely while eating. It was weird how cold yet caring he was, it made me curious to know just who the CEO was. How he grew up to the man he was now. As soon as I was done eating, he passed me the medication Dr Gu recommended and watched me drink them.He felt more like a babysitter than my boss. He also felt like my mum when he discarded the things I ate with and brought me water to drink as well. It's been a while since anyone has cared for me this much. “Thank you, CEO Jung. I appreciate you looking out for me and taking care of me even though you don’t have to.”He peered at me from his desk. “You’re welcome, Miss Lee.” That was all he said as he gathered the things from his desk, which happened to be just his phone

Reader’s discretion is advised thank you and keep reading ‘My Unlovable Boss’ Jung Goods.Ae Ra’s POV.The next three weeks of my life had taken a drastic change. CEO Jung showed up at my doorstep every morning to pick me up for work. As if driving me to work wasn’t crazy enough, he always and I mean always carried me around too.He carried me bridal style from my apartment door to his car and from his car to his office. You heard right, his office! He claimed it was because he had to watch over me. I don’t even want to talk about how embarrassing it was to be seen in his arms every morning and every evening after work both at work and in my apartment lobby. He even tried taking me to the toilet once but that was where I drew the line. Baek Jin was also swamped with all the field work in my place so I was left alone with CEO Jung for most of the day during these three weeks.I wasn’t sure how I felt

Not a single strand was out of place and my face was clean-shaven as usual. I pulled my tie up and straightened my collar before throwing on my black suit jacket.I adjusted the buttons on my wrists and took in my reflection once more. I disliked not being neat and proper, a habit I had developed when my mother was still alive. My empty eyes glared back at me annoyed by my thoughts. My mind was wandering again, I sighed. My phone rang jutting me out of the rabbit hole I was about to fall into. It was Baek Jin, he usually barged in here whenever he arrived to pick me up. Was he calling because I told him he lacked manners?“What?” I answered.“Good morning to you too, my sunshine.” He responded sarcastically.“If you don’t have

To think that it would grow from a mindless activity to something more truly amazes me. The characters have grown on me and I want to do my best to give them a story they deserve.I am still learning, I'll make mistakes and I'm sure five years from now I would even think "this could have been so much better" because I tend to be hard on myself. Until then, however, I am proud of what I have achieved thus far.
