That was all his breakfast, I guessed from the lack of beans or grilled tomatoes or any other meat on his plate. Everyone cleared from the kitchen the minute I stepped inside. It’s like they all knew about this tradition, silly smiles on their face. However, I did not find it amusing. With my hand on the hip, I perused the racks and cupboards, mouth twisting.   What could I possibly make to sell our relationship? I eyed the freezer and stepped right in front, pulling it open with a drawn-out sound. As expected, there were various racks of meat staring back at me.     I pulled out chicken thighs and walked to the island, setting them down before deciding on a menu. Spicy curry and rice and roasted potatoes and asparagus sounded like a safe bet. Who doesn’t like it? I will pair it along with custard at the end, and Axel will be crying tears of joy.
