Chapter 21: Rose

Kamron is a certified coward. If he’s really a wolf, why would he be scared to tell the truth to Simon? I don’t know. Maybe super strength isn’t a thing with real werewolves. Stupid reality. Why does it always have to come crashing in and destroying my marvelous fantasies about feeling tingles when I touch someone’s hand thereby finding my mate and becoming a stronger version of myself.  I’m a pretty weak human. I’m shorter than average, I have a small pouch where I wish I had abs, and I can barely do a push up, let alone a pull up. Even the humans in my stories are stronger than I am. Well, most stories. Sometimes the girl is weak.  Monday was fairly uneventful, at first. There was the usual friendly banter in History, the becoming increasingly annoying flirting in Science, and the tortu

Chapter 22: Kamron

“Kamron!” The shout came from behind me as I was walking toward my bus stop. I turned to find a petite girl with dirty blonde hair, a bright smile, and freckles across her nose. Cute, but not Rose. “What’s up, Amanda?” I asked. I suppose she’s going to ask me to the spring dance, and I still haven’t figured out what to tell her. I wanted Rose to ask me, but she didn’t, and I’m too much of a pansy to ask her. I had wanted to ask Rose to the winter formal in January, but chickened out. Jeremy tried to hide it by asking Kimi to the dance and suggesting we double. Damn, I have a good friend. In the end, I asked Hannah Goldstein. It was fun, but not as much fun as I would have had with Rose, and then I had to figure out a nice way of letting Hannah know that I wasn’t interested in more than friendship.

Chapter 23: Rose

Damn Kamron. He just had to tell Amanda he’d go to the spring dance with her, and then he just had to accuse me of jealousy! Ugh! I hate that I’m thinking of one of my best friends in that way! Maybe I should have asked him, but I still don’t want to ruin our friendship. I had done some thinking after I realized how I feel about him, and I decided that having him as a friend is way better than not having him at all. Stupid logic. Nate and I walked into science the day after Amanda asked Kamron to the dance to find Kimia staring into space. She looked stunned, and a bit pale. Something was wrong, and I was going to find out what it was. “Kimia, are you there?” I waved a hand in front of her face. “Huh?” she said.

Chapter 24: Kamron

“I fucked up.” I closed my locker and found my sister with her head against the locker next to mine.  “Hello to you too,” I said. “Rose is mad at me,” she said in the most pitiful voice she could muster. “Why is Rose mad at you?” It was rare for the two of them to fight, although Kimi usually got mad at Rose for something stupid, not the other way around. “I asked Simon to the spring dance,” Kimi sighed. “And Rose wanted to ask him first?” I asked, confused.  Kimi glared at me with one eye. “No, but she asked Na

Chapter 25: Rose

Kamron was kissing me! I let myself get enchanted by his gray eyes, and his thumb left my lips a little tingly, but his lips! His amazing warm lips! They were on mine, and his eyes were closed. I froze. I had no idea what to do for a second. Eventually, my eyes closed, and my lips relaxed. I focused on the sensations he caused.  His kiss was soft, and warm. He gently cradled my head in his large hands, and began to part his lips against mine. I mimicked his actions, and felt myself sigh. I could feel his lips quirk up a bit before returning their focus. As far as first kisses go, I would have to say this was amazing! A rhythmic whacking against my leg brought me back to reality. I broke the kiss to look down at Kimia. She looked way too pleased for a wolf. I can’t believe I forgot about her. I could feel the blush rising i

Chapter 26: Kamron

I was grinning like an idiot the rest of the day after I’d kissed Rose. I couldn’t believe she’d kissed me back! Kimi, Rina, Mina, and Mom all teased me when Kimi announced the reason I was in a good mood at dinner. I was too happy I’d finally manned up and kissed Rose to be too embarrassed by my family. Kimi was the one who brought me back to earth before bed. “Thanks for distracting Rose from being mad at me. That kiss was genius.” Did Rose think I kissed her to distract her? “Yeah. No problem. Anything for you.” “And you should thank me for talking Rose into joining your group for the dance,” she added. “You talked her into it?” I was confuse

Chapter 27: Rose

They had decorated the gym to look like a tacky Hawaiian forest. They had fake greenery all over the walls, bright streamers, and exotic looking fake flowers. The tables that held the water and punch were lined with fake grass, a DJ was set up at one end with colored laser lights.  Nate had been a bit of an octopus during the date, but I sort of expected it. Kimia hadn’t seemed to need much help with Simon. He appeared to be enjoying spending time with Kimia. There was some chemistry there. Nate pulled me onto the dance floor, and he was a pretty good dancer. “Having fun, beautiful?” he asked. “Well, I’m not not having fun,” I teased him. I really don’t want to encourage them, especially after that kiss from Kamron last week. Th

Chapter 28: Kamron

Kimi helped Simon to his door. He looked very tired, but when he tried to kiss Kimi, she let him. She handed him off to his parents at the door, and came back smiling. “That looked like it went well,” I said. Kimi briefly smiled. “He told me that he had fun, and kissed me.” Her face got serious, “I had to tell his parents what happened with the punch. They were worried, and I don’t think Simon will remember kissing me.” Rose reached over to her and grabbed her hand. I took Amanda home next. This is always the worst part of a date with someone I’m not interested in. Either they wait for something I’m not going to give, or they stomp off in a huff. I think Amanda is the waiting kind. There’s hope in her eyes as I walked her to her door.

Chapter 29: Nate

I never expected to enjoy living in a small town. Hell, there isn’t even a proper hospital here. Don’t get me wrong, I love Boston. I miss it like crazy. Uncle Micky was like a father to me once my own pop went to jail. Not to mention my cousins sure knew how to have fun. Still, after living in Aspen Falls for a month, I couldn’t go back full time. Rose and Kimi are right. Wolves weren’t meant to be cooped up. I followed Kimi’s brown wolf through her family’s trails toward my house. That bitch is a hottie. If I hadn’t set my sights on Rose that first day, I seriously would have considered casing her as a fuck buddy. Still might, if she wasn’t a virgin like her brother. I stayed behind her amazing ass as we ran, and just admired her. I’d never fucked as a wolf before, and I kind of wonder what it’d be like. I guess we’re both vi

Chapter 30: Rose

Kamron and I waited for a while for Kimia to come back, but she was gone longer than expected. Kamron looked like he had fallen asleep on my lap, and my eyes began to droop as well. Eventually, I nudged him, and woke him up. “We should go inside.” He got up and went to the door. I let us in, and followed him up the stairs. His door was open, and I followed him in. I didn’t want to wait for Kimia alone. He must have noticed because he didn’t change his shape, just jumped onto his bed and gave me a look that was very inviting. I smiled at him, and laid down next to him. I tried to stay awake, I really did, but my eyes closed and my arm was curled around Kamron’s furry body. I woke up to the feel of fur next to me, and Kamron’s distinct smell was surrounding me. I didn’t open my eyes though. I r
