Chapter 50 : Coming Clean

It feels good to be home. It was great up at the cabin, but I like being able to see my friends and work together to plan the rescue mission. The family herbal book is amazing! There is a section on generational curses and combined with what my coven mates had found I can design the perfect ritual to end this curse that plagues Damian’s bloodline. Alicia has all the herbs that I need for both the curse breaker ritual and the spell I need for the rescue. I also found a simple sleep  dust recipe and some healing balm and energy bites designed specifically to increase energy reserves in wolf shifters. I have given Alicia the list of herbs for all of the recipes along with qualities I’ll need, A few of the herbs are in more than one recipe.     My adoptive parents Patrick and Jane are driving Damian’s father nuts, and I ex

Chapter 51: What's up Doc?

Damian’s POV       Selyna’s adoptive family went home. We have been working on planning and she has been working with the herbs, creating spell jars and vials of strong smelling liquid, she made herbal energy bites, but now she has barricaded herself in the restroom getting sick.  ‘Babe, are you ok? Can I do anything?’ I mindlink her. ‘I’m not okay. I mean my stomach is a mess, I don’t remember ever feeling so nauseous in my life!’ She links back. ‘Babe, I’m going to call the pack docton.Shifters don’t get stomach bugs or nausea easily.’ I warn. The bathroom door flies open, revealing a sweaty and disheveled Selyna. “My queen…my goddess, come to me.” I reach out for her, catching her elbow just as she reels and I pull her to my chest before her legs give way. “Let’s get you into bed, beautiful.” I carry her to the bed and tuck her in. ‘Hey Doc, can you come to the packhouse ? I have a pati

Chapter 52: Curse Detailed

Damian’s POV        She holds the scrolls with trembling hands as we sit on our bed. I got her herbal tea and a large bottle of water. There are four scrolls which Rayanne deemed relevant to the curse. “Do you want me to read the first one or would you like to?” I ask Selyna.      “I’m okay to start, but if I get tired you can read the rest to me.” She smiles a weak smile and blinks her eyes.  This one mostly talks about moons and moon magic, but at the bottom says “The MoonOmen wolf curse is based around the cycles of the moon and the wolf moon is the one most likely to unleash the full extent of the beast within. The curse itself is designed to remind the wolves of what their true nature is. Even a mated moonomen wolf might lose himself on the wolf moon, unless his mate is his true mate. Only a union blessed by

Chapter 53: Breaking the Curse

Selyna’s POV        I filled Damian in on most of the conversation with our two ancestors, still leaving out the rebirth part…I am not sure how to tell my mate that our great great great grandmothers will be reborn as our daughters, or that my ancestor let it slip, much to the amusement of his ancestor.      After a goodnight’s sleep we are sitting in our sitting room with some bland foods. I seem okay with simple foods and herbal tea if I take it slowly.  “She went insane, you know? The witch who cursed your family, she seems to have completely lost it by that last scroll.” I say to Damian before taking a small bite of toast,     “I think she was pretty batty to begin with, but maybe the loss of her daughter sent her over the edge. Is that relevan

Chapter 54: All Supernaturals

Selyna’s POV            We have Kirsty bring the messenger to the Alpha’s Office where we all meet him. He’s tall with ethereal features…clearly elven or fae of some sort, with long white hair. “I come to you with a message from my king. He would like you to know that while he escaped by slipping into another realm through a portal he opened that he was attacked. The attackers were mostly humans and rogue wolves, though they do seem to have a witch on their side.” He bowed and nodded to me. “If I am not too presumptuous and the rumors are true, it is you, my lady, who most needs to know as queen of  witches and  Royal Alpha heir.”        I giggle a little. “I am still not officially queen and certainly not used to the titles, but you are not too

Chapter 55: Packing?

Daman’s POV      Since breaking the curse Selyna’s appetite has returned and she seems to be feeling much better, she did have some nausea but after what she experienced before we broke the curse it is minor. The last few nights since breaking the curse we have bathed together using the bundles of herbs and the uncrossing soap. Of course we have our fun in the tub while getting clean. Today is going to be a long day. We are packing and preparing for the mission. Her beautiful eyes meet mine as  lay luggage out for the two of us. It’s December so it is cold up here, but it is still warm in Florida which is where we are driving down to, so we will need to pack accordingly with clothes for varying climates. I see her smile at me, sweetly. “What are you thinning, my sexy demon? You look so serious!” She questions with an impish smirk. She sidles up to me then grabs my waist, her slim fingers gently tr

Chapter 56: The Journey Begins

Selyna’s POV       I was sure to pack our bags with a variety of clothing to suit the varying climates, as shifters the difference wouldn’t be as pronounced as it is for the witches, but we would still need jackets and long pants up north and things more suitable to the hot weather when we go south, plus comfort would be a factor in choices and  being sure we had some clothes in case we had to shift without changing out of our clothes.       I just finished zipping the suitcases when Damian came up behind me with a tray full of food. “Come on, my queen! Let’s have some lunch before we have to gather everyone together to go over the plan and make sure they are all prepared.” He smiled at me and gestured to our sitting area.      Thinking back on t

Chapter 57: Sunny Florida

Selyna’s POV        Twice more during our trip I felt that surge, but that van had not followed us. It was a strange feeling, like something was trying to both feed my power and simultaneously use my energy. Damian and the others didn’t let me drive for the rest of the trip. We are close to northern Florida right now, driving through Alabama, but I need to stretch my legs and use the facilities so we stop at a rest stop. Riff is outside the door to the lady’s room when Rayanne and I are finishing freshening up and I hear a low growl. Spinning around I see an unfamiliar she wolf. I know she is a rogue wolf shifter because I can smell her. “We don’t take kindly to her kind around these parts!” She inclines her head towards my aunt as she drawls with her southern accent. “What are wolves and witches doing traveling together?” &nb

Chapter 58 Revelations?

Damian’s POV        We walked into the clearing and I immediately spot Riff in human for with claws extended slashing through rogues and a giant alligator, that I really hope is Earl. He’s snapping at several rogues in front of him while more come at him from behind hoping to get the drop on him. Sheila must have seen them going after him the same time I do, because her scream echos through the clearing as she leaps forward shifting. I shift and jump in taking out two of the three closest to Earl’s tail. I feel a bolt of lightning pass me hitting a wolf in the chest in midair just as he was leaping at me and see Storm’s fingers crackling with electricity. Selyna is standing to her left doing something with her hands but I don’t have time to watch my mate. We are outnumbered but making quick work of the rogues who have yet to register just what they have gotten into. Bubbles fly by on my ri

Chapter 59: Destination

Selyna’s POV      Damian and I basically carry Aunt Rayanne back to our hotel room. She is a mess and will be spending the night with us, So much for more private time with my handsome mate. As Damian unlocks the door I look out over the pool area and feel a cool breeze. It’s warm in Florida in December, but the night air is cool and refreshing. Too bad my aunt is too far gone to enjoy the beauty of the place we are in. Damian throws the door open and puts an arm around Rayanne’s other side so we can haul her into the room. Her head lols to the side and she giggles a little mumbling “I don’t know why Hecate would do such a thing to me…I th..think she…she cursed me...*hiccup*...I don’t even like girls that way! I’ve been fighting this way too long!*hiccup* Wolves are lucky they can reject mates! *hiccup*Once Hecate sets a match up you're stuck! S…so you two are lucky you l…lo…love each
