Alpha Meeting Continued

“Nathan? What have you found out about what they want to do?” Helena looked over at Nathan and repeated herself to get his attention. He appeared distracted by something on his phone. She realized it was his mate on the other end and she was saying something to him. He appeared as if they were arguing about something, but he was discreet enough to do it quietly.         “Oh, yes. Sorry.” Nathan put his phone away and stepped closer to the centre of the meadow. Where he began his report. “They’re concerned about where the money will come from to rebuild and can they successfully rebuild. Several mentioned they don’t feel safe and are concerned because they don’t believe they have an alpha to keep them safe. Also, they fear they won’t be able to round up enough people skilled in defending their territory.”

The Hunt Forms

The meeting ended with the pack leaders agreeing to look closely at how their members were behaving and any who were acting out of character would meet at the pack house as soon as possible for the purification rites.         Jillian returned to Helena’s side once she introduced the coven leader to Brian and Davis. Davis made it clear she wasn’t going near Chris for her safety. She also felt like it wasn’t fair leaving Helena to do all the heavy lifting on her own. Chris was in excellent hands, but Helena needed a few pairs.         Nathan walked up to the small group and asked, “As the representative of the Blue Mountain Pack, I would like to be there in our territory while you hunt for this witch. That way I can report back to the pack the current status of the mission to capture here. I want them to know their ter

It’s never so simple

Davis dozed in one of the open cells. Brian insisted he try to sleep while Chris lay asleep as his wolf in the cell, they restrained him in. Brian and Alfred spoke quietly about the purification rites.         The hope of having this over and done with quickly. When Alfred understood some greater plot of this witch, Veronica devised for what appeared to be everyone that crossed her path. From family to community, she bore a bone to pick with so many. Of course, it was all a theory, and she needed to confirm it. But she was jealous of her wolf family for not possessing a wolf nature, then Clarence manipulated her into believing if she just did something for him, that he’d mate with her and make her a wolf. When the time came, he pushed her away. When he spurned her, she’d cursed him to be driven mad by his instincts.         All

Check Mate by Ego

Asia finally got the message she’d been waiting for. The pack would get help to rebuild. The hunt for the witch was actively searching. She couldn’t believe it that Nathan set this up with such ease. When she went to explain this to others who waited with her, eager to hear the results, the hateful fool drowned her out. What he didn’t know was the last message Nathan added to his communication. This twit wasn’t in his right mind. He’d more than likely touched or fought with Clarence. Which meant he bore the same curse as that of Clarence and Chris. He needed to be brought to the packhouse and let them deal with them. Now Asia’s mind races as she quietly shared this information around Oliver’s back.         She could see the pack nodding after they read the description of how the behaviour of the person changed and how dire it was to remove the sp

The Search Gets Real

Helena looked at Jillian. She wasn’t sure what this mission would hold, but it sounded like it just became a lot more dangerous. No one knew what they were entering or would encounter. They left the vehicles outside of the gates with the drivers inside them to protect them.         The rest of the group entered on foot and made their way down the dirt road. Looking at the state of the road, it didn’t experience much in the way of maintenance. The few buildings they saw appeared to be in the same state, or worse. Parts of some were just missing. Helena assumed sadly that they removed those parts to build the underground bunker and tunnels. It made no sense. They were isolated here, just like the Black Danes and most other packs.Wolf packs inside cities lived differently. Some took up entire apartment buildings, while others chose gated communities, or even private esta

Brother to Wolf Brother

Alfred and his minions stepped out of the cell area for a bit. That left Brian and Davis with Oliver and Chris. Chris awakened, but he stayed in wolf form and snapped at anyone that got too close to his cell. He clearly wasn’t happy with Oliver in the cell across the way. So far, no other people had shown up. Asia left an interesting message on Brian’s phone. Though they’d not met yet. She’d persuaded Oliver to see Brian and air his grievances, which Asia was correct sounded very suspicious. Alfred quietly did an examination of Oliver from a distance and confirmed he bore the curse.         “Glad you’re back with us, brother dear. Look, in all seriousness, Chris, it’s bad and complicated. But we’ve got a plan to get this fixed. Alfred is waiting on supplies and then he can fix both of you up at the same time. I hate that this has happened t

All Bad Witches

Valorie Bolzano hated this. The wolves weren’t playing by the rules. Only she should be able to make or break the rules. How dare they hunt her like some juicy bunny? Bringing witches with them was uncalled for. She’d have her revenge, eventually. It annoyed her when Clarence changed the rules on her. It wasn’t fair how he’d used her for his own ends. She’d been the one to procure the poison he’d used on his enemies. He’d persuaded her to administer it for him. Clarence never lifted a finger to do anything. His eyes wandered to others, and she’d struggled to thwart those plans of his. He wanted the coven under his control through her, but when she lost her membership, he’d abandoned her, claiming she was a disappointment and a waste of space. He stopped dangling the chance of her becoming his luna right then and there. She’d been furious, and she’d placed

Evidence Found, Hunt Continues

Nathan stood in his wolf form and watched the land for anything out of place. The number of traps that Valorie laid out for them was unreal. She was terrible at hiding them, as well. The traps were highly visible to anyone, yet she thought wolves would trigger them. It annoyed him more than anything, because she thought so little of them and the time it would take to remove them all was something he didn’t need. There was no way he could let the pups come back here, because they were curious by nature and, most likely, the wolves who would trigger these traps. There’d already been enough death to last everyone a lifetime. More than enough people recovered in the medical centre in the Black Dane Pack territory.         It saddened him to see how the land wasn’t being looked after. It wasn’t that they left it to go back to its natural state. No, it was how they&rsqu

Further Study

It disappointed Alfred at how slowly his people were gathering the supplies he needed for this. While thinking about the ritual ahead, he discovered more unknown factors, he couldn’t predict with any certainty. This meant he must do further study. What he questioned was how exactly did that first spell’s residuals affect both men and if they removed it, what would happen to the curse on Christopher? Would the curse dissipate, or would it transfer to Brian? Could it leech onto Christopher even harder?         This was all so complicated, because of two unknown spells used too closely together on multiple people with a mystical connection.         Brian gave Alfred a journal of stories about other Twins of Midnight and while it was an interesting read, none of the stories mentioned what spells like this would do to them. Lesson Learned, Opportunity Lost

Valorie watched the wolves and witches milling around like a colony of ants on the lookout for food. She leaned against a tree and had a good chuckle. Her plans were going perfectly. These fools would waste their time running from pillar to post for nothing. She had everything important in the back on her shoulder. Valorie knew with this she could start up anywhere again. She could make any place in her kingdom. No, her queendom, she could be a goddess among men.Valorie smiled to herself just before she lost that smile when out of the corner of her eye, she caught the sight of a wolf making it’s way up the hill she stood atop. It would take them time to get up the hill, but it was far too close now for her liking. If she could see them, then they could see her, and that wasn’t something she could have.Annoyed, Valorie turned from the scene as she watched and pushed through the wooded area toward one
