The good friend

The chill breeze along with the sparking rays of the raising sun brought a red and bright shade to my closed eyes. I could feel the very lively surroundings and smell my freedom that was almost achieved. Just as I was about to my eyes I could feel the tiny weed saplings tickle my leg with the winds force. The smell of nature was so lovely that I would do no matter what it takes to never return to 'Zeon orphanage'. I look around and all I see is greenery and a beautiful sight. At 'Zeon, all I could see was the cemented walls. The puzzle

Jessica hurries to the table I was seated in with a worried expression. 'I don't think we're on earth' I speak first before she could even get seated. 'Yes I found the same facts although its the same calender year' 'Where are we, if not on earth?' I ask again. 'I suggest that this is a parallel universe. We might have entered it when we touched the silver wall in the tunnel.' 'So the tunnel is a portal?' I find myself speaking again.'Yes, seems like it' Says Jessica puzzled. 'Do you have dome cash on you? i'm hungry''Let's buy something but its not much. Just a little of my savings' 'Thank you Jessica. 'Get back to where you belong'

As the dust settles we notice that we've been surrounded by 'Wolves?' jessica and I speak simultaneously confused. We look for a way out as the last thing we wanted was to die in a foreign universe and a prey to wolves. 'Stop. We need to talk' We hear it again. We look around for a human but find no-one.'Who is talking?' I ask finally. A roar from one of the wolf drags our eyes to it. It is larger than the rest, with brown fur and grey eyes. It must be the alpha.'Did you find me now?' We hear again.'So you're communicating through our mind?' jessica asks mesmerised.'We wolves can talk to anyone we chose on our land through mind communication' explains the alpha.'Why do you want to speak to us?' I ask puzzled.'I don't like you both here, so i'm heard to warn you to return' 'And why is that?' asks Jessica.'You two don't belong to our world, and things that don't belong here are not welcomed.

'You murdered mother'

We walk into the palace gate, through the screech of the metals, mentally prepared for what lies ahead. 'Do you think she will hypnotize us into willingly sacrificing ourselves?' questions jessica. 'Let's not talk about it here. I'm pretty sure she can hear us' I whisper and Jessica agrees. We walk through the creepy out-garden and knoch on the palace door; it was the right thing to do as we were an hour early than the appointment time. The large wooden doors opened automatically allowing the chill air to gush out from the inner palace. We get goosebumps due to its suddenness. The wind had a mix of earth and anxiety; the earth from from the dead and the anxiety was the two of us standing at the entrance of our unknown future.'Welcome, my lovely children. I've been eager for this moment ever since I met the two of you' we hear the late princess from the main area. We walk slowly towards the sound. 'Greeting princess' I speak trying to so

The uncertainty

The alpha followed by the pack walked heavily into the main area and questioned us again through the mind 'Have you both gone insane? How can you agree to her proposal?' 'Not this lowly animal again' says the late princess. 'I've had enough of your trash talk. Leave my grandchildren alone so we can go ahead with what we were doing earlier.''Did you forget the pact you made with the previous alpha? You swore you would not try to come back to life.' said the alpha following a howl.'And you lowly creatures swore to never intervene in my work' says the late princess by tilting her face and raising her left eyebrow. 'We're here to warn you, princess. You need to stop!' stressed the alpha and we hear the words as clearly as someone spoke them out loud. 'I don't need warnings from lowly creatures. Leave or I would have to force you out' 'Ma princess, please don't forget that its your greed brought you death.'

Mother?

I could feel a gentle hand caressing my hair, 'who is it?' I thought to myself. 'Is it really mother? Did she resurrect? How long have I been gone? Is Jessica alright?' many questions flood my consciousness as I try to open my eyes, that first give me a blurred sight gradually adjusting to the scene. It was the late princess, she was sitting at the edge of the single mattress; I blink twice to make sure its her and exhale 'What are you doing here? Where is Jessica?' I question.'She's still unconscious Laura, you resemble your mother in many ways.' 'Did mother return?' I ask.'Not so soon dear. She will find her way here gradually' 'How long will it take?' 'It completely depends on her willingness to meet the two of you' I turn to the window and notice the sun was out shining 'How long was I unconscious?' 'Just a fee hours dear' says the late princess in a low voice.' 'Wait, how are you even

Jessica eyes me and joins in 'What is it about, mom?' 'Alright, girls, You have a right to know. I cannot stay with you for a long time. I have to return back to where I belong - the heavens' with a grim expression. 'But didn't you come back to life?' questions Jessica.'There is something Daisy didn't inform you. Haunting Past

I jerked open my eyes due to the familiarity of the person's voice. It was her, in her usual long blank panel skirt matched with a red laced blowse staring at me like I made a grave sin and the heavens would curse me for it. I could sense what was coming up next and kneeled on my left leg and started to pick up the scattered pieces of the glassware I was suppose to carry to the sink. She rushed to me stomping her feet on the marbled floor and stood to my right. She pressed her foot on my right arm that was gathering the glass pieces. The glass piece that I was about to pick up poked my arm and it started bleeding. The piece was stuck to my palm. She took away her leg and I was shocked to see my blood ooze out.'Is this how you behave, you filthy little trash' she said while pinching the helix (upper part) of my ear with force and pulling me up to my feet. My 7 year old self did noting to defend me but started sobbing. I followed holding my right palm close to my body and utte
