Kate POV            I kept thinking about lunch with Boyd. I was confused how I had slept when I never sleep.  I wasn’t sure I wanted to go on another outing with him but had already committed and I wouldn’t go back on my word.  Since we saw each other a few days ago, I haven’t heard from him.This had been a busy week since I saw Boyd; we were going through so many different contracts that had been established some previously, some years prior.  Some were good arrangements and for others it was time to update those agreements.            One in particular would be my first challenge.  There had been rumours of one of our smaller ally’s having been conducting their business a little less than we would consider the norm.  We treated our Omegas well; they were not seen as less than or belittle or abused.&n

Kate POV            Getting into the cars, Reid, one of our warriors, Louise, and I in the first car and the remaining warriors in the second car.  We head out quickly not wanting to linger on the premises any longer.  We had a long drive ahead of us and we had a mystery to solve on top of that.            Who the hell was Louise, what connection does she have to the Golden Moon Pack, and where did she come from?  Looking at Louise, I started with some basic questions, “How long have you been at Harvest Moon Pack?”, I ask.  “I have been there my whole life; I only had my mom and dad; when they died in a rogue attack a few years ago I was deemed an Omega and wasn’t allowed to finish school,” she says.            I ponder this, again we always encour

Kate POV            Drake had said to dress up for the evening.  I was looking forward to the break after the crazy week I had just wrapped up.  Getting out of the shower, I blew my hair out letting it go wavy.  I put a touch of make-up on and went to get dressed.             I had decided to go with a backless black cocktail dress.  I was able to go without a bra. I opted for a black lace thong tonight under my dress.  Slipping on my black heels, I stand in front of the mirror just as Lily knocks before walking into my room.             “Drake is a lucky man, Katie,” she says.  Laughing, I thank her for the vote of confidence.  I want to enjoy my evening and perhaps some after drinks back here would wrap out the evening nicely.  &ldquo

Kate POV            As much as I knew what was happening, I was still caught off guard.  I shouldn’t be but it stings seeing them together.  I know what it means, I know I have to be strong once again, but it doesn’t make it any easier.            Moving past the new couple, I head toward my office without acknowledging them.  I just need to get to my office, close my door and throw myself into my work.  As I sit down at my desk, I sip my coffee and pick away at the blueberry muffin I had grabbed.  I had watched Drake and Louise when they left for a walk, so I had thought the coast would be clear.            I saw Lily for a couple minutes when I went to the Dining Hall but wasn’t ready to talk about anything.  What was there to talk about?  Dra

Drake POV            Looking at Louise I had to be honest and recognize there was a pull toward her.  I knew it was the mate bond and I didn’t trust it.  I was conflicted with the feelings I had for Kate.  I knew Kate wouldn’t accept me as her chosen mate now that I had a mate.  Unless I convinced Louise to reject me.            I sat and listened to Louise talking.  She had a lot of questions and I guess I had to make a decision whether I would take her back to my place or leave her here for a bit longer.  “Have you heard anything from Kate on the DNA test you took?” I ask her.  “No, she said she hadn’t heard anything yet but that was yesterday,” she replied.  “Well once you get those results, we’ll have to figure out what you are going to do,” I tell her.&nbs
