Kate POV            It’s been two months since I last saw or heard from Drake.  Lily and I had been enjoying the Club life for the past month.  We had consoled each other for our losses.  We both refused to let those moments define our future.  I wouldn’t be bitter and miss out on another chance at something with the right person because I have had a couple crappy experiences.  But I would be more cautious with my heart, while enjoying life a lot more.            I had been pushing my father to set a date for me to take over as Alpha.  He and Beta Gregory were both pushing back, but I kept pushing with Reid’s support.  I was going to be 19 in a couple more months.  I wanted to have this settled before then.  I planned to enjoy my 19th birthday as Alpha to the Pack.  &n

Kate POV            My 19th birthday had finally arrived.  I was getting excited and nervous at the same time. I knew I was ready to take over the Pack, but the knowing and reality were causing conflicting emotions in my body.            I had been catching up on some paperwork in my soon to be office.  My mom and I were already talking about the new, updated design for the office.  I planned to keep a lot of the wooden interior on the walls but wanted to brighten the office up inside so would be go with some off-white colors for the interior such as the desk, chairs, and accessories.My dad had started to step back, enjoying some much-needed time with my mother.  There had been a time there where they seemed distant with one another but whatever had been going on, they seemed to be working it out.  &nbs

Kate POV            “I Challenge Katelyn Adams for the Alpha title of the Golden Moon Pack!”.  I couldn’t believe what I had heard.  It was resonating through my mind, without fully comprehending.  Looking into the crowd I wait for the voice to come forward.  It’s familiar but with the crowd who jumped up loudly the voice was lost in the crowd.            As the crowds separated, I look in shock as I see Alpha Boyd moving forward with a smile on his face.  He was challenging me for the Alpha title of my Pack.  Everything flashed through my mind, years of training, preparing for this moment, the past year of rejection, finding myself, what I had hoped was going to be a good relationship.  Everything flashing in my eyes, as I stared at this man I barely knew, but had once romanticized over him.

Boyd’s POV            As I sat there in that moment, I considered how I had gotten here.  I had gotten arrogant expecting Kate to accept my proposal.  Now I would have to kill her because of that arrogance.  I was stronger than Kate, but her ego made her think she would win. I couldn’t do this to the death.  I would let her kill me before I killed her.            Stepping forward, “I am willing to continue with this challenge on three conditions: if it is a tap out fight (much like grappling), Red Moon Pack is not kicked out of the alliance as a result of this challenge, and finally, Kate must go out on a date with me,” I state.            Watching Kate the entire time, she recognizes I am helping save her credibility by stating my intentions of a grappl

Kate POV            Sitting in my office, I am smiling remembering last evening with Drake.  We had an amazing time, no expectations, just a strong desire for each other.  He left after an early breakfast this morning, having Pack work of his own to complete.            We didn’t talk much about anything specific; just enjoyed ourselves.  I will not see him again until the weekend.  He asked me out on a “proper” date as he called it.  I had giggled and said yes.             My first official day as Alpha started with intense training with both Reid and John.  Having had to fight for my life with the rogue situation and then being challenged, made me realize that it was important, more than ever, to train to fight intensely every day.  Fortu
