Chapter 81

Samantha Point of view  I could felt the cold metal tip of the pistol on the skin of my forehead. I could hear the movement of his finger on the trigger. I expected something. For him to drop it or for the sound of the gunshot ringing in my ear but nothing has happened.  I opened my eyes and I still see that the gun was still in position but when I looked at Rai, I see the struggle in his eyes. I blinked hard and fast. I let go of the breathe I was holding in and placed my hand on top of the gun carefully.  "I trust you, Rai," I told him. I gulped when his eyes starts to shift to a cold stare. I extend my hand to touch his arm with one hand. "Rai, look at me. Look at me." I breathed in and out. "You can fight it. You don't have to kill me."  Rai's eye twitches a little. His arm started to struggle to pull away but it doesn't. He was still fighting it. I could feel my heart beating out of my chest as I waited. I too

Chapter 82

Samantha Point of view  I sat beside Linda's body with my knees up to my chest and arms wrapped around my knees. Its been more than 30 minutes since I have stared at her lifeless body. I don't know what to do. I don't know how am I suppose to continue. I clamp my hands together then run my fingers through my messy hair.  As I looked at the body, the way it was positioned and the angle I was looking at looked familiar.  I realized that this was the same scene that I saw when I looked into Linda's memories. I choked back a sob. I covered my mouth to stop myself from crying again.  I knew that in Linda's future, she would be dead. That was one of the reasons why I came to visit. I just didn't know that it would come this soon. I exhaled loudly and thought to myself, how am I supposed to move the body? How was I going to explain to them? I hear Rai coming up behind me and slowly lowered himself beside me. I glance

Chapter 83

Samantha Point of view  "That is," I stopped and shake my head to the side. "That is impossible. Do you think turning back time is that easy? Because if it was then people would have done it a thousand times. So what makes you think that you can?"  I stepped back and shifted my weight one leg at a time. I had my thumb on my lips and thought long and hard if there is even a possibility but I shake my head again. "Even my mom, who is the keeper to the realm of time can barely even turn back time for 5 minutes."  "I know it sounds impossible," he admits. I scoffed and nodded in agreement. No one in history turns time back. He takes a step back away from Linda's body. As I was about to my eyes lingered. I felt the pain again and I breathed in and out to focus on our conversation "It does," I remarked. I gulped when my eyes turned back to look at her body. "It really does." "But I have thought this through," he says

Chapter 84

Samantha Point of view I stared at him in disbelief. Does he not realize that finding that kind of keeper is rare. I asked, "How?" He frowns and answered, "My first kill was actually the keeper's daughter. I didn't know back then but when I met her again a few days ago, she told me that she was a keeper."I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at him confusedly. "She willingly told you? It's common knowledge that all keepers should keep a low profile, especially if you have no one by your side protecting you. Keepers would be vulnerable by themselves and that is why finding your protector is really important for us. Protectors are any supernatural beings that were born and assigned to a certain keeper. It is somehow like mates. Protector and Keepers feel an internal connection. Protectors would feel the urge and obligation to protect keepers while keepers would feel safe and trust their protectors instantly.

Chapter 85

Samantha Point of view  Before I went home, I made sure to wash the dirt and blood off my skin to grab less attention as I made my way home. I used the river in the woods to wash them on and I took the route in the woods.  I know I said that I should be alone in the woods but I could not walk through the village with dirt and blood all over my clothes. I made sure to stick to the edge of the woods and watch out for anything suspicious.  Thankfully, I made it back without being seen or attacked. I snuck in the house in case anyone was home but there wasn't anybody inside. I went straight to my room and then took a shower. I dressed in clean clothes and made sure to wash my clothes. My hands were shaking as I cleaned Linda's blood off my clothes.  "Breath, Sam, breathe, " I told myself. I tried not to think about it too much but I failed. Flashbacks of Linda's death replayed themselves in my head. The sound of the gu

Chapter 86

Samantha Point of view Mom sat there with her head in her hands, facing towards the table instead of me. She was trying to wrap her head around the fact that her old friend came back and sent her son to kill her daughter and has apparently creating experiments that were dangerous enought to kill us.We stayed like that in silence as I waited for her to speak. She sighed loudly and removed her hands from her face. She clamps her hands together and rests them flat on the table. She turns her head to me with more composure than the state she was in a few minutes ago. She asks me with a calming tone, "What else?" I sat there dumbfounded for a minute. I shook my head to find the words and said, "We need your help." As soon as I said those words, she sighed and looked down at our dining table. "Rai is the only one who knows Marcus' whereabouts so if we-" "No," she immediately said. I blinked twice in shock at her response

Chapter 87

Samantha Point of View  We spent the whole time argueing with each other. We yelled and tried to reason with each other but none of us were going to back down. Mom tells me that it was our duty to not abuse our powers and I completely understand that but a friend died because she was got involved in something that she didn't even know is going on. I followed mom around the room to plead to her to reconsider. When she still didn't agree, i yelled out, "Mom, it's Linda! We knew her her for a long time. She is basically like family!" She turns back and takes two step towards me and said, "If we bring back one person then what is going to stop others from doing the same. We need to become an example."  "MOM!" I yelled. She slamms her fist on the table beside her and vase with roses from our garden fell to the floor. Shattered sounds echoed around the room. Broken pieces of the vase were scattered all over the floor. Water from t

Chapter 88

Samantha Point of view I believed that Rai's plan was the only crazy idea I'd hear today but when those words left my mouth, I no longer believe that. I never thought I would be someone who would give crazy ideas. To put so much trust in a plan that has never been done before.Even if I thought the whole thing was impossible and crazy, I was still willing to do it. I can't live without thinking of the slight possibility of it working. I'm doing this for Linda. Rai thought it was a crazy idea too. He stared at me with his eyes wide open. He was stunned that I even suggested the idea of killing my own family just so mom could help us.Minutes have passed and I noticed that the clouds started to pile up and cover the sky. I heard mothers from the village called out to their children who were playing in the water. Glancing at the sky, it would seem like a cloudy day but the way the wind began to blow, anyone would think it was going to rain by

Chapter 89

Samantha Point of view  The clouds quickly covered the whole sky and turned grey. It started to drizzle at first then it poured down hard. It was good that Rai and I finished going over the plan of doing the spell. He said that the spell will happen in three days and within the days between now and then, he will come and kill my dad and Xavier.  I stopped under a huge tree to take a break from running in the rain. I tightly shut my eyes closed and wrapped my arms around myself from the cold wind, rain, and the thought of my plan that I willingly suggested easily. I couldn't believe I suggested it. I can't believe I was allowing this to happen. I can't believe I'm going to go home and act like everything was going to be okay.  I take a deep breath and reminded myself that this will all be worth it. That this was an opportunity that I should not waste. To end Marcus' doing before it gets out of hand. This will be worth it. I open

Chapter 90

Samantha Point of view  I have never seen my brother look so torn between believing my words or thinking of it as a prank but he knew I would not joke about this. His hand that was holding the umbrella upward slowly lowered down. I could see his visible anxiousness when he swallowed. His eyes were wide open as he stared at me, trying to decide. Maybe he was waiting for me to say that it was a prank. That we would both burst into laughter for a few minutes. He would have complimented me for a convincible performance but the more time has passed, the chance of Linda's death being a lie was closing.  He does not ask. Instead, he kept his eyes on me as if he was mentally asking me if it was real. The tears that rolled down my face were more than enough to tell him that I wasn't lying. He let the umbrella fall out of his hands. He backed up to the tree we were under and lowered himself to the ground. He covered his head with his hands an
