Khloe's POV:Today was the day.The day that I was to be taken away for two days.The transportation for us pets was already here according to Nico so we only had a couple minutes left with each other before we had to go down.My fingers grazed the collar around my neck.It had been so long since I had had to wear this for such a long time...My fingers then trailed to the mark that Nico had made on me the night before.Luckily Nico walked out from the closet before I could begin to dwell back on that experience too much.I watched as he walked over to me, holding one of his grey hoodies in his arms.

Khloe's POV:The room where the cages were was a fairly large one. It resembled a garage with its cement walls and floor.This too was different from my previous visits, as was the pungent smell of bleach that the room contained.The cages were set in a horseshoe shape around the room and were pretty much the exact size that I thought they would be.Eight feet across, four feet back, and about five feet tall. Just barely enough room for each of us to have a little room to ourselves as long as we were sitting down.All of us had been placed into the cages, and since It wasn't that late yet, A couple Vampires were walking around us, watching to make sure we weren't going to try something that they wouldn't like.As far as I could hear, no one was. Khloe's POV:Doe didn't return for the rest of the night.Nor did I see her during the entirety of the morning and afternoon tests.The tests where they lined us up one by one and took every kind of sample you could think of before sending us back into our cages so they could process the results.I did what Nico told me to do, I stayed in the middle with my eyes down and somehow ended up being one of the first pets done with the tests.Luckily the vampire that met with me wasn't too forceful but...I rubbed the spot on my elbow that still ached after he had taken my blood sample.

Nico's POV:I felt Khloe's body relax as I set her down onto the bed.She curled up into the blankets almost immediately.As much as I wanted to spend time with her after being away from her. I could tell that she needed sleep more than anything.I already had the feeling that she wasn't going to get much sleep, but I'm glad that her exhaustion was the worst thing that happened to her.And, well, I needed to talk to Xander.I needed to thank Doe.If she hadn't done what she did, well...I tried not to dwell on that, knowing that the mere thought of it would

Khloe's POV:I glanced up at the numerous stars and the crescent that shown in the night sky as Nico spoke to our driver.I wondered why he decided to take me here of all places.Behind us was a small, yet fairly tall hill with a dirt path that lead to the top.I think I remembered this hill being the one that was very popular for camping when I was younger, yet no one else seemed to be around.I placed my hands into my very warm jacket as I turned to face it, feeling the slight breeze that this night had.Excitement was still taking over my mind, wondering what Nico had planned and mentally begging him to hurry up
