Chapter 62
Khloe's POV:
The drive there took longer than I remembered it taking. Long enough for the sun to set.
Even with the covering that Nico's hoodie gave me, and the warmth from the other girls behind me, the wind caused by the drive here left me shivering.
I pulled the collar of the hoodie over my nose as the car rolled down to a stop, inhaling Nico's scent in an effort to calm myself down.
I just have to get through two nights here.
That's it. Just two nights, easy enough...
I just have to get through this, and then he's going to take me somewhere.
I kept repeating those kinds of things in my head, forcing myself to slow down my breathing.

Khloe's POV:Doe didn't return for the rest of the night.Nor did I see her during the entirety of the morning and afternoon tests.The tests where they lined us up one by one and took every kind of sample you could think of before sending us back into our cages so they could process the results.I did what Nico told me to do, I stayed in the middle with my eyes down and somehow ended up being one of the first pets done with the tests.Luckily the vampire that met with me wasn't too forceful but...I rubbed the spot on my elbow that still ached after he had taken my blood sample.

Khloe's POV:I jumped as the door slammed against the wall, followed by one of the worker's loud words."Rise and shine ladies! Khloe's POV:Nico and I didn't return to the castle until just before the sun began to rise, both of us not being tired enough to actually get some sleep.Not that I could have slept even if I wanted to.I knew my mind would have been rushing as I recapped that night.
