Chapter 12: Healing HimI refused to entertain Calgary's conclusion about me being Alpha Lawrence's daughter. My Dad loved me so much, and if Calgary was right, then that means I must hate Alpha Lawrence even more. They said parents could feel a connection with their kids. If he really was my real father, how come he beats me up with no remorse? Didn't he feel anything whenever he was hurting me? My chest tightened with the thought. I let out a heavy breath and decided to come see Calla instead so my mind would be busy. After leaving Calgary's house, I walked towards his grandmother's home where Calla usually stays when Calgary wasn't around. I heard he went with Alpha Quira to talk to the council. The council is consists of some elderly members who no longer stays with their original pack in Nirvana to prevent any bias decisions. Lynel said their grandmother was offered a seat in the council of Nirvana but she politely declined because she didn't want to leave Calgary and Lynel.

Chapter 14: Hard To ControlCalgary took a sharp breath after we both settled on a fallen tree. We decided to take a walk to help me calm down, and to talk about what really happened in the past."Your Mom was a good friend of mine. After she lost the fight for the Luna position, she realized that Lawrence would be willing to risk his own life just to be with her." I saw his Adam's apple bobbed up and down. "She didn't want that to happen. She'd rather see him marry someone else than let him die because of his love for her."I sniffed when my tears threatened to fall again. "So you helped Mom and Dad hide from him?"He nodded. "When I found out what Lawrence was planning to do, I asked Calla's mother's help. She's a part she-wolf and a part witch that's why she was able to perform a cloaking spell. That's why even when your Mom and Lance stayed in Claivan for a couple months, Lawrence wasn't able to sense them. They just returned to Zenios when your Mom was about to give birth to you.

Chapter 16: A Familiar ScentHolding the tray of food for Alpha Lawrence, I swallowed the lump in my throat before I pushed the door open. He was already staying at Calgary's house, healing the injuries and wounds he got from defending my mother's grave.It was awkward when our eyes met, but he was the first one to look away as if he didn't want to see my rims that always reminds him of my mother. When the door shut behind me, I placed his food on the small table sitting on the corner near the door that was leading towards the veranda."Calgary left to investigate," I said as soon as I turned to face him.He let out a heavy breath. "You're supposed to address him as Alpha. It's disrespectul to call someone of authority by their first name.""I haven't submitted to him yet. Technically, you are still my Alpha considering that Luhence is nowhere to be found," I replied. For the first time in my life, I was able to speak to him that long, as if a part of me was sure that he was no longer

Chapter 20: A Storm is ComingDried leaves whipped into the foggy air as Calgary and I ran faster through the woods. His wolf kept on challenging Auror, but with us finally gaining back our strength, she showed him we were their equal. Auror jumped over a fallen tree and rolled over the thick bed of dried vegetation before she gained her momentum again, but Calgary's wolf was fast enough to stop Auror from jumping over the cliff.Auror let out a whimper of affection as Calgary's wolf licked her face. She rubbed her head on his neck, gaining more power from the bond we share with our mate. We had been running for hours, but our hunger for freedom felt insatiable. Auror and I had never been permitted to roam around Nirvana this way, but with Calgary accompanying us, we knew we would be safe.Calgary's wolf howled, telling us to finally go back. I felt Auror's desire to ask for a little more time, but when thunders began roaring in the sky, she changed her mind and followed Calgary's wol
